Am I missing something? When did MVP become a "strictly stats" award? There are multiple factors. And the stats aren't lopsided. Like, 2 more TD's and 2 fewer INT's? That's supposed to convince me?
-
I'd go Denver, then Cincy, then Miami. Even though we have dominated the Phins in recent years, they have played us pretty tough at times, and division games are weird.
-
Gotta say - Ravens fans online are pathetic. If Allen had 2 already - and he didn't really show up in the playoffs - I'd be totally happy in that regard, and would just want a SB title. The fans I see online are so invested, and 100% about the stats.
-
Voters can't decide that it's only the stats NOW.
-
Pats don't look like much now - but Maye looks like he could be good, and a Herschel Walker kind of trade might vault them into contention. You don't TRY to lose - but losing next week would be better long term. Imo.

I saw Ravens fans talking online about how the fact that Jackson already has 2 shouldn't matter. Please. It absolutely should when the stats are close like they are. The MVP is an award that should encompass a variety of factors - stats, record, seeding, previous awards, and most importantly - how valuable you are to your team. Jackson has a better team around him, and that's really not disputable.

Will Josh Start vs. Pats* (Josh's start streak)

They should give him the week off. Treat it like their bye week - there is an advantage mentally to not having to prepare for a game at all. -

Daboll doesn't care. He just wants to win. Their fans must be livid. -
He will.

It's crazy. People forget what it was like during the drought. -
Bitter cold works for us - wind & snow are more iffy. When we had that perfect game against the Pats, you could almost tell in warm-ups which team was embracing the conditions, and which just wanted the game to be over.
-
I dunno - I'm personally tired of being so terrified of Cincinnati, a team that has looked unimpressive the entire year. If Allen goes through Burrow, Jackson & Mahomes - he is undisputed king of the AFC.
-
Anyone else feel like we're the only team that can keep the Chiefs from a threepeat? We're America's only hope, imo.
-
I get the sentiment. But, IF we never get a title, I kind of want history to know how great this guy was. I hate thinking that way, because Josh Allen kind of has to get a ring at some point. He's too good not too, but stranger things have happened.

Will the Jets and the Patriots be tanking the last two games?
Success replied to tomur67's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pats won't tank - but I'd almost want to see them win as long as we beat the Jets. That #2 spot in the draft could help them build for the future if they make a good trade. -
Reminds me of when Whitlock said that Allen doesn't have that "dog" in him. I'd love to be a sports analyst, but I don't have the big clown shoes that the job requires.

San Fran would have been the only team to take Worthy. It's possible. But the Bills got Coleman regardless, and also got Carter out of the deal (who will definitely be on the team next year). Both teams got what they wanted. The online chatter about the Bills giving Worthy to KC is kind of annoying, but expected. I mean, they might have taken McConkey if San Fran really did take Worthy - the league should thank Buffalo.

Broncos, Ravens, Chiefs - Can the Bills run through this gauntlet.
Success replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I keep trying to convince myself that our D is better than it has looked over the past month+. Maybe they are? I look at the personnel, when healthy, and it really should be a more solid defense than what we've seen. We don't have a star pass rusher or anything - but the line is decent, the LB's are very good, the secondary is good. We have a couple of what might be considered weak links, but overall, it's not some huge talent deficiency. Here's hoping. Stating the obvious, but defense is going to be so key. We just can't hope the offense can be lights out in every game. -

Pats fans like to mythologize and say that the AFC was "so much tougher" when they had Brady. It absolutely was not. -
You don't think Worthy falls to KC regardless of the trade? I do, but we'll never know. And I'm excited about Carter. He was only really healthy at the beginning of the season, and he made some impact plays those first few games. It felt like he was in the backfield a lot and he didn't seem like a rookie. Like Coleman, he's had some injury issues since.

I got so weary of the Brady/Manning debates. Pats fans kept changing the criteria - it was "wins in big games" until Manning started consistently beating Brady in the playoffs. Then it was things like overall head-to-head record, and # of rings. Of course on the latter, Brady wins by a mile. But Brady had what many regard as the GOAT coach and usually a well-constructed team, while Manning had 5 coaches, and often had to carry his teams (similar to Allen now). I'd still say Brady was better overall than Manning at this point, but it's much closer than most say it is, and certainly closer than their ring count would indicate.
-
Go all out this game, get Allen 3 TD's at least, and rest the starters next week. Anyone else kind of hope that the Pats beat our backups next week if that's how it plays out? They're at #2 in the draft right now & can trade that for a great haul, which would set them up pretty well for the future if they play their cards right.

Jackson deserves an MVP w/ this play this year - but he doesn't deserve 3 MVP's for his career to date, with no title or even SB appearance yet. That absolutely factors into this equation.

I swear - every opposing fan on the internet should read this thread. Whenever I check out a general NFL board, I hear so much about how "Bills fans are so cocky when they ain't won nuthin' yet!" (or similar sentiments). I really don't think I've ever seen that, here or anywhere. We're the most "waiting for the other shoe to drop" fanbase out there.
