  1. Agree, I think he will also have a plan for how to attack what in FA and the draft but that can change depending on what dominos fall and how things get filled in. In general I would think trying to find a premium WR in the draft would be ideal because of the cost advantage at that expensive position.
  2. I think they will sign some of their own back for the right price, 1 maybe 2 moderate signings and maybe 2 comp picks next year. They will likely not go deep into the initial FA and I like that but can bargain shop later.
  3. I used to listen to him on GR a long time ago, I remember one particular call when a Sabres fan took him to task because he knew nothing about hockey, he truly did not but he had to cover it with his job. In some ways he was very unqualified but he was fun to listen to. Anyway, the caller was asking him to name the sabres or talk about hockey strategy and all he could muster was they need to focus on defense cause that is what wins championships. LOL, its not like he had data at his fingertips like the guys do today. RIP
  4. ok, I had him crossed off the list, now I just ripped up the paper.
  5. Agree there are differences with Beasley's skill set compared to Shakir but I think Shakir is or can better than a role player, maybe I am wrong but his production the last 10 games showed it. He is dependable and good with RAC.
  6. There are only so many targets to go around and I guess that is the reason for my first paragraph, I see and hear so much about the dramatic "need" for WR's. The future boundary guy will only be able to eat so much unless he gets into Diggs targets IMO. Some of the throws to Beasley (now Shakir or Kincaid) are easy or progression type throws when the target was not there to the primary (Diggs or future #2).
  7. Finished listening to Joe Marino's breakdown of FA WR's to target. The guy I like is DJ Chark, I wonder if a one year modest deal can work for him. It would give him the opportunity to play in one of the best offenses vs what he was in (the worst) and earn a huge payday.
  8. I will just point out that Beasley was the #2 target getter as the #3 slot guy and people loved that. So is that what we want here? I think people want 2 guys with 1400 yards on the outside but its hard for me to see that happening.
  9. With all the discussion on needs at WR I get the feeling the "need" is not quite what many think it is. I think they should expend a premium draft asset (first or second round) this year to try to find the next #1 guy. In addition to that, some kind of vet who can step in if needed and certainly open to another draft pick on day 3 where the Bills have found both Davis and Shakir. The Bills have Diggs as a #1, there is some chatter if he is still that, I think he is. I think his skill set is something that can work for an older receiver. That big question is the drop off in production once Brady took over, can that be changed? I would like to think so. But I think with Shakir coming on along with Kincaid, if they add one more premium asset they are in pretty good shape as far as weapons go. But the point of this thread is Khalil Shakir. He really came on the final 10 games last year where he was nearly at a 1000 yard pace. Is he a potential Beasley type security blanket for Josh with upside in RAC? Beasley was a master of finding a hole and letting Josh hit him, I think Shakir can do that but he can actually do much more. Or maybe they are completely different. Shakir can play outside too, I like him as a prospect moving forward. Do you guys see him as a slot receiver with Diggs and future #2 and Kincaid where they go back to more 11?
  10. Whatever you think of the schedule and opponents will change drastically by week four. And then a couple more times before the season is over. Key injuries play a big role and it is always true “it’s not who you play as much as when you play them”.
  11. They are in a great position to build a good team but they need to find a qb. Vet like Cousin's or draft pick? They should maintain cap for future years also but everything hinges on the qb. Wr is nice but it pales in comparison to getting the qb right.
  12. I am not looking forward to it because I think he will do some things to kick the can down the road further. I want a cap reset of sorts.
  13. Josh Allen, Dawson Knox Dalton Kincaid Cyrus Torrence but minimizing picks to “steps up in the playoffs” is a little unfair with limited sample size. But let’s list the teams with playoff wins the last 4 years: chiefs and bills, end of list. Now let’s see if you can answer the question with actual data and comparisons to other gms. Instead of making blanket statements and calling it a fact.
  14. I would love a detailed explanation of this with comparison to the rest of the league. I believe you have totally unrealistic expectations for draft picks.
  15. Void years is trading future cap for cap today. Kinda like buying furniture that you don’t have to pay for this year but next year you will have to pay the bill. It seems a little irresponsible to me to use this a lot. So with Floyd that ten million dollar new contract with the bills would add to his void money. So if void money is 4m and the new contract is 10m then his hit for 24 would be 14M. Another team would be just the 10M. I thought beane would stop that at some point when the cap catches up for the Covid years but obviously not yet. Our years were rarely used before Covid now some teams use it a lot.
  16. You mean other than pay everyone and have 6 number one receivers?
  17. 1 what? One million dollars or one 50 million dollars? Yes really. Think like it’s your money.
  18. That would make the CBA garbage. Why would the owners do that? It would also mean the cap is toilet paper. you live with contracts you agree to
  19. So glad to see WR's NOT at the top of the list which is the correct answer. They should use a day 1 or 2 pick on WR, maybe another on day 3 and get a vet or two for depth and special teams at WR. I assume they will sign one or two moderate contracts on the DL because they are so short numbers there. Hopefully they can identify a safety at a good deal like they did with Poyer 7 years ago.
  20. By save some cash do you mean lower the 2024 cap hit and increase the cap hits in figure years?
