  1. Yeah I agree, it's a people business....but who specifically is he talking about, I guess he sees things with younger coaches where they are not able to speak in front of the team? He talked about the zoom calls, are people actually making zoom calls vs in person because they cant be in front of the crowd or because of Covid? I would not think that is the case in the NFL but maybe it is. In general with how kids are raised nowadays along with the impacts of phones/technology, I believe what he is saying and I have observed the "I want to immediately move up the ladder before I have actually done anything" mentality at work, I am 46 so somewhere in the middle. It's not all bad though, culture and society change...always has and some of these leadership skills may develop a little later for some. For a guy like Pease, I think he feels it's disrespectful, which it is. NFL aside, if you look at the jobs situation/mass resignation, it's probably good kids are leaning forward and want to move up. There will be some growing pains but my opinion is it will work itself out. At the end of the day, people will sink or swim.
  2. 46 receptions 538 yards and 9 TD's. Noticeable uptick for him, particularly in TD's but I am not sure I would call him a breakout star.
  3. He is an FA. So it comes down to money. Will another team value him to the level he has played this year? It’s possible the Bills just choose to spend money elsewhere.
  4. Isn't it a predetermined formula that is applied equally to all teams?
  5. The tools can absolutely take into account more real time information, the technology is there. No they cant look a guy in the eye but analytics can look at the history of the current game and use that as part of a formula along with larger history. Like other have said, it is just one tool and the coach can always make a decision. No matter what they do, if it works out in the other teams favor, a bunch of internet trolls will attack.
  6. Dave, we scheduled your retirement for next week, ok?
  7. I believe in using data, the things he talked about as far as analytics....not taking how the game is going, weather, how your team is playing is all true and should actually be included in an optimal analytics decision. I have no idea what NFL teams take into and don't take into account as far as analytics but from the internet coaches is they just go off pure history/samples of down and distance, time left and don't consider these other factors which could make your decision making better. As far as younger people not wanting to pay their dues, yeah that is true in society in general right now. The information available to a younger person can give them confidence to challenge the experienced person....but there is still something to be said for experience. I thought he came across as whining about computers though, the reality is someone using software can have more information, and more reliable information than someone with pad and paper, that is dinosaur stuff.
  8. It would have to be a low round pick to take that contract and injury history.
  9. For a large scale build like this it costs more to try to reuse stuff and is not worth the effort. There could be a lot of issues that come up, local building codes change, the old equipment is probably not the right choice in a lot of cases, etc.
  10. One week without him and the Bills came crawling back with puppy dog eyes
  11. Titans out of playoffs....this is interesting. But I agree, you have to win close games, you dont get to just flip the results.
  12. I find this surprising with the division on the line. I get its December and weather but $8 is basically free, $50 too. Wish I lived in the region still
  13. I live in NE which makes this a little more intense for me. Losing to BB will be a really crappy way to be one and done, the worst possible way. Knocking them out will be a really high high for a wildcard round. I think the Bills are the better team but that does not guarantee they will win. Personally I will be pretty stressed going into it, but this is the fun of sports.
  14. I thought the cafeteria food would have been provided by the team. Who thought Ralph was cheap?
  15. You are right, the price could get worse but if you are sure it might be the best way. There is risk any way you cut it...the Bills took risk off of a 1 year performance.
  16. He has gone downhill performance wise from his rookie year which was pretty good. This year is tough because he has a significant injury that he is playing through and is affecting him which could cost him a lot of money. But I think he gets healthy, plays next year on the option and then the Browns can decide.
  17. They both have a 5th year option plus franchise tags to let it play out and decide later, there is no pickle, no need to panic and make a rush decision.
  18. The only reasonable option after seeing this is to offer all home games to the opposing team. They will all take it. Home games are the problem. Let’s eliminate the problem
  19. Im sure the opponent would not like it but it’s life in the big city. If it’s the bills and josh Allen not available would you want them to try to adjust?
  20. I think they would try to make reasonable accommodations, move the game out a couple days, not past Tuesday though. There are teams that wont be in the post season because of Covid already.
  21. It seems the Bengals could go anywhere from 1-4 but most likely 3-4. Depending on Burrow's injury, they could rest up maybe.
  22. Nothing makes me think Trubisky is going to generate a lot of interest this year. Do another deal with him.
