A 10M guard and a rookie WR is cheaper than a 20M FA WR and a rookie guard. I guess the trick is it is easier to hit a guard in FA or the draft than a WR.

That would be reasonable. Spotrac has been known to be wildly wrong on their valuations though. I like the idea, might be a good fit to go with Cook. Hines makes more than that right now.

There are limits though. It is real. The saints have ridiculous amounts of void money in future years. Why is tyreek hill in Miami? Why is adams in Las Vegas? Answer: the cap is real. Sure it’s soft and can be manipulated but there are real limits.

The saints are probably stuck with his current deal so they are gonna make it worse.

If someone was willing it should be considered. He is probably worth near his 5th year option number but it would just be a one year rental. I would not expect a large return.

I think OL needs to be on the high pri list of targets but you need to see how the board falls and consider your other needs also. I like the idea of drafting a WR early because the WR cost in FA is ridiculous, find a good one in the draft and you have a bargain at a premium position. But....there needs to be one available that fits the position they are being drafted, don't reach.

I have been assuming this. I like Edmunds a lot but I don't think the Bills should pay what he will get on the open market. No matter what people say/assume, you are constrained in terms of spending and you have to make decisions.

Has the guy ever coached anything? Does he want to coach in the NFL? I know his history as a player and how much coaches think of him but unless your name is Jeff Saturday you have to work your way up in coaching. And it has to be a passion cause it does not pay well for someone independently wealthy.

Go to Spotrac and look at their future years void money.....they wont have as much cap as other teams unless they use more void money. Also, they don't do whatever they want they have let a lot of good players, all pro players go at various times. Its true you can manipulate but it is not true there is not such thing as the cap. You can take from future years for today. How much of that you do is the question.

Depends a lot on how much salary...this seems risky, the guy has had a couple good seasons but lots of crap also.
