2018 Veteran QBs - the Mega Poll
billspro replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya I just finished watching his tape and came away really disappointed. I would give him a 4th round grade at this point with a chance to move up to a 3rd round grade if he lights up the senior bowl. His accuracy drops drastically if his first read is not open. -

Honestly when I look at that list, the only one I can see beating Tom Brady is Kirk Cousins. -
2018 Veteran QBs - the Mega Poll

I have not finished watching games this year. But I did watch some games on Darnold and Rosen last year and I would agree with that based on last years tape. -
Yannick Ngakoue accuses Incognito of racial slurs

I'm going to trust Dion on this one, he is a good guy. That DE on the Jags was playing pretty dirty today. -
2018 Veteran QBs - the Mega Poll
billspro replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Cousins become available I am "all in" and would make him the highest paid player in the league. He will continue to be a top 12 QB in the league for at least the next 5 years. My second choice would be Bridgewater and my third choice would be Alex Smith. It would be nice to get Cousins because we wouldn't have to worry about drafting a QB. I view Bridegewater and Smith more as bridge QBs. It is going to be between Allen and Mayfield if it comes to the draft. We would probably have to give up both number ones to move into the top ten if we a stuck in that situation. I am really excited to watch Allen at the senior bowl in a couple weeks! -
McDermott got the most out of a largely limited roster
billspro replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McDermott did a great job this year getting the most out of his defence. I would like him to find an OC that gets the most out of their offence. -
Thoughts on the game and the offseason

They have set themselves up for a big offseason with cap space and draft picks. I expect them to build a roster with playoff level talent and find a QB this offseason. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Can’t Win Without Offense
billspro replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It should be an exciting offseason. That play Alexander made on the goal line was amazing. One of our best plays of the season imo. -
Honestly, I am hoping Peterman can develop into a good backup for us. I never expected him to become a starter at this level. He has not shown he can be a good backup yet. He trusts his very average arm a little too much and it is the reason he is throwing so many ints. Hopefully he can improve his arm strength this offseason.

Well Bills fans, the playoff experience was short lived and I want more. Thoughts on the game today: 1) Bills fans are the best fans. I am so proud of how the Billsmafia showed up in bunches at todays game. 2) The team definitely put it all on the line today against an amazing defence. It did not feel like we were outplayed. We missed a few plays and it cost us a playoff win. 3) Shady McCoy is amazing. It was fun to watch him carry a team on his back against an elite defence. He is a special player and person, I hope we can build a legit offence around him next year. 4) Losing Hyde hurt us, I couldn't help but think he would have brought in that dropped int by Anderson. 5) The OPI on the 1 and a bad punt were the difference in the game. We should have put up more points with the time of possession advantage we had. 6) Our defence completely shut them down. McDermott and Frazier do a great job maximizing our talent on Defence. Unfortunately, Dennison does not do a good job and needs to be replaced. 7) Marrone and Hackett are still horribly predictable on offence. I am glad they are no longer coaching the Bills. Most coaches would have won at least 12 games with that defence. The Jags defence probably has more talent than the great Denver or Seattle defences that won superbowls. I don't think this Jags team will win a Super Bowl this year, even though I doubt New England or Pittsburgh will get over 17 points on them. 8) I am very happy we traded Dareus. He is a solid DT but is not a game changer. We will be able to find an equally productive player for half of the cost. The worst thing teams do is give 100 million dollar contracts to players that are not QBs. Very few defensive players are worth high percentages of a salary cap. JJ Watt and Von Miller (who are both phenomenal players) have not lived up to their contracts. State of the Bills going into the offseason: 1) This team appears to finally be building. I think we have a coach and a defensive coordinator we can build around. Priority 1 this offseason should be finding an OC that can develop a young QB and create a unique, flexible, attacking, and balanced offence. 2) Thank you Tyrod Taylor for breaking the playoff drought. There is no doubt Tyrod is the best Qb we have had since 2004 and I am happy he was a Bill. Saying that, he is better suited to be a bridge QB or a backup QB. No one will question Tyrod's work ethic, understanding of an offence, or passion but he just does not have the ability to throw with anticipation. You might be able to create a great team if Taylor had an elite defence on his side, but I don't think he has the ability to win a Super Bowl. Plus, I think it is a better strategy to build a balanced team rather than trying to create an elite defence. Priory number 2 has to be acquiring a QB. There are 5 guys we should be looking at and we have to figure out which one is going to be our franchise guy. The Bills Qb better be Cousins, Smith, Bridgewater, Mayfield, or Allen next year (Darnold and Rosen will be gone). 3) Our pass rush is pathetic. Hopefully Shaq Lawson develops into an 8 sack per year guy. Jerry Hughes time should be done in Buffalo, he has not produced in 3 years now. We need to add a free agent pass rusher and probably one in the draft as well. We are severely lacking talent at the DT position as well, hopefully we can find some help at that position too. 4) Adding a great LB would put this defence into a top 10 level. 5) We should move Glenn to RT next year. Our oline should be fine for next season with the same guys and Mills as a swing tackle. We don't need anymore holes to fill. Preston Brown might do a better job at strong side linebacker, then we could add a great coverage MLB. 6) McCoy should still be a great back next year, but we need someone to compliment him and groom for the future. 7) If we only resign one guy I hope it is EJ Gaines. Positions of need in the offseason Desparate- Qb1, DE1 Must improve- MLB1, DT1 Would be nice to improve- CB3, WR2, RB2, S3, RG1 Lets Go Buffalo!!

Checking in with the Jags message board
billspro replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if we keep Fournette around 3.5 ypc and we don't turn the ball over we will win this game. If we are able to control their running game we will put them into some uncomfortable passing situations. I would expect our secondary to force 2 ints if that is the case. I also think Haushka will get us a couple of long field goals on shorter drives around 30-40 yards against their amazing defence. Bills 19 Jags 13 Bortles 210 yards 0 TDs, 2 ints Fournette 27 carries 80 yards, 1 TD Taylor 175 yards passing, 25 yards rushing, 0TDs 0ints McCoy 15 Carries 60 yards 1 TD The Patriots were rushing against a nickel defence, we will be stacking 8 in the box this week. -
I would rather take Allen or Mayfield later in the draft. I don't see a huge separation between them as prospects. I also don't like drafting sophmore QB's. I can't think of any that became successful.
-
I am all for trading up for a QB, but only if they look like a franchise guy. I would not trade up into the top ten for any of the Qbs in this draft. Cleveland is going to take a QB 1st overall, so one guy will be off the board. Darnold has had trouble with decision making this year, Rosen does not seem to have the attitude of a franchise Qb, Allen does not have the stats, and Mayfield does not have the size. I might be willing to trade up into the teens for Mayfield or Allen, I would also be okay waiting to see if one of those guys drops to us. This does seem like a deep QB class so we might fair better drafting one in the second round and having a vetran QB start next year (Taylor, Keenum, Bradford, Bridewater, etc.).
-
This secondary has a chance to be dominant. Poyer, White , Gaines, and Hyde are our best secondary since 2004. Hopefully we can add some more depth in the offseason, there is a huge drop off when Gaines goes out of the lineup.

I'm so happy for Kyle!!
-
I would honestly be happy with either of them. Right now I would probably take Mayfield, but I have a lot more games I need to watch on both guys. The one thing that concerns me about Mayfield is he has some studs at the WR position. Those guys get wide open and make Mayfields job a lot easier. Compared to a guy like Allen who has a horrific receiving core that never gets separation.

There was nothing to explain other than we are reversing the call because if it's close it has to go in the Patriots favour.

Tolbert is the worst FA acquisition in years
billspro replied to mjt328's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would take Fred Jackson at age 40 over Mike Tolbert. It's an absolute joke that he is on an NFL roster. There are probably hundreds of hard working kids that are street free agents that are way more talented. -
Bills at Patriots* - 2nd Half Thread
billspro replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a TD against every team in the league except the Pats. Horrible call. -
Jackson is going to go in the 1st round for sure. I think he is actually a better runner than Vick which is scary. He is going to be tough to defend in the NFL. The only question I have is how long he will be able to play with that style. There is maybe 3 Qbs in the world that can make that second throw. He has the best arm since Stafford.

great post
-
He has the arm strength, accuracy, and has played in a pro system in college. He looks like Big Ben when he is on. He has played bad against top competition but I think it is a product of the talent around him, then frustration later in the game that leads to ints. When I watch he has no one to throw to. I would much prefer Allen over Rudolph. In my opinion Allen has much better accuracy and Allen plays in a pro-style offence. Rudolph really struggles to move in the pocket and has trouble when his guys are not wide open. I think there are 5 1st round Qbs: Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, Rosen, Allen (in that order).

I'm very interested to watch him play tonight. He reminds me of Big Ben. He hasn't played well against top competition but his team also sucks, a Qb can't do everything by themselves.
