Here’s a fun little game to get us by the next few weeks: which 2022 cuts could’ve made a roster during the drought era? Who could’ve even been a starter? We only have a few cuts to this point, but I definitely feel like M. Lee competes for a starting LB role on some of those Chan teams. Side note, 2022 Case Keenum would’ve been one of the better QBs we had during that stretch.

Keep in mind, this roster isn’t playing 16 games and hoping for 8-9 wins. The expectations are 20+ and with that many games you load up on talent. I’d try to hide Duke on the squad as well.

You’d dump Moss, who’s looked really good vs starters and dump him for Blackshear, who’s looked very good vs 3rd stringers?

Oh for sure, plenty who fade away into nothingness also. I love Blackshear’s potential as much as everyone else, but realistically I think he’s viewed as a developmental P-Squad RB with RB 4/ST Demon hopes.

He’s actually one of the top LBs in the league at making the tackle within the first 3 yards. Run defense is not one of his weaknesses.

I agree about Hodgins, he doesn’t get any separation. Averaging less than 10 yards vs 2nd and 3rd DBs isn’t great. If cut, he may not have a ton of 53 man roster options.

Blackshear reminds me of Mike Gilislee, it’ll suck to lose him but all 4 RBs have looked great AND the team clearly loves Jones.

McCloud was sooooo frustrating. Early kickoff I just happen to catch him weave through traffic and NAIL the KR at the 15 with a shoulder tackle and totally bounce off him. LOVE Cam Lewis at Safety, sucks we likely lose him this year due to numbers unless they go with him over Hamlin.

He still managed to lead the team in tackles I think

It makes sense considering we plan on playing 20+ games and you have to manage your top guys so everyone isn’t on dealing with thirty nagging injuries at the end of the year. OBJ won’t be medically cleared until later this year, so really we would have a healthy, fresh OBJ to unleash in the playoffs. OBJ also excels in the slot and is a different caliber player than Crowder and McKenzie.

Imagine what it must be like when the coaches can’t decide between the 2 so they just cut them both 😬
