  1. He can date or be best friends with Taylor Swift, Bob the Drag Queen, or the biggest adult entertainment star in the world today for all I care. So be it he still brings it on the football field. Im not sure the Hollywood girlfriend is a distraction…. but I think it’s fair to question it
  2. Yeah my Dad who is in his early 70s was going to go to his college roommates door and knock on it after 40 plus years of no contact. I suggested to him you know could that be considered stalking and thought social media would be the better option! He couldn’t find his old friend on it though. He hasn’t actually done it yet but his thought was I’m not going be on the planet much longer. Why not? To some extent I understand his logic. He’s more open now to friendships with old classmates than he used to be. I think he said he joined a Facebook group for his high school graduating class or something like that
  3. I found out this week a friend I had in middle school's dad died recently at age 71. It's what triggering this thread for me. We had fun/good times back in the day. Which is like 25 years ago already. But I haven't talked to him since. It's not that we stopped talking because we were on bad terms with each other. It was more we went to separate high schools and we forever lost touch with each other. I'm not a big social media person and I don't think he is either. In this case no I wouldn't consider myself his friend but hearing about his Dad though legit felt like a gut punch. I remember briefly meeting his dad way back when. Was a charismatic/nice guy.
  4. I hear that. I did a little more leg work on Mendoza's background..... My gut feeling now is the front office wants someone they can dictate their analytics/strategies too as a manager that won't really question their decision making. Like this dude is real happy to land a high profile job like this and won't make waves so to speak. Hope I'm wrong
  5. @ExWNYer @SinceThe70s @Gugny Well this hire came out of left field completely to me anyway. I'm assuming Craig Counsell didn't want to leave Milwaukee. But my first honest reaction on hearing the news was Carlos Mendoza..... Okay. Who The Hell Is This Guy? I'm assuming you will all have some strong and entertaining opinions on this topic!
  6. Agree. But I'd like to think his heart was pure. Pure being an ironic word when describing Bob Knight! But more or less imparting his style on them to prepare these kids for a world that will easily chew anyone up and spit them out.
  7. RIP. Im not sure I’d call myself a fan but I respected his style. Many many memorable clips. I mean for all the times in life you’re sick and tired of an 8-10 record and losing to Purdue!
  8. Honestly that’s the one candy I’ve never liked
  9. My dentist would disagree with you. Haha It is funny though watching The Sopranos and seeing Anthony Jr drink Coke at every meal (liquid candy as my dad would call it) and thinking that’s disgusting! But at his age I did it too
  10. Airheads but if I remember right I just about outgrew Trick or Treating when people started giving them out
  11. Not really surprised. That's why from my point of view whether that was fair or not Buck was my main source of frustration last season. I mean traditionally that should be the manager that should be instilling motivation, fear, discipline, etc... in the club. But I understand as well the front office has more and more power when it comes to how the day to day operations roll so to speak
  12. The timeout before the Bucs touchdown in the 4th quarter was really really stupid Baker and their offense was struggling on the 3 plays before that. Heck, they only got that prior 1st down because of the face mask penalty. The Bills defense didn’t exactly looked gassed at that point. I’m confident saying the Bucs don’t convert a 1st down nevertheless touchdown without that timeout called
  13. Real dumb penalty by Von Miller. 5 yards made a difference there for Baker to get it the throw into the end zone. But its a win
  14. I merely logged in to say what a stupid time out that was! It gave Baker time to breathe, talk to his OC, and hence the touchdown.
  15. I have a memory of Tampa going up 27-20 and at that time Buffalo Bills PTSD well was still more of a thing. I didn’t think we’d see a win
  16. The thing is Schwartz like he did with the Bills got their defense to kick butt. I see them as a playoff team even without Watson. Maybe only like a 6 or 7 seed but nonetheless. Watson really isn’t necessary for them.
  17. So is he going to retire now? https://amp.marca.com/en/mlb/arizona-diamondbacks/2023/10/25/653893a322601d252d8b4596.html I always found him entertaining to listen too growing up but hardly feel bad for him
  18. Is that you think due to how much emphasis is placed on analytics in today's game? One article on it https://nypost.com/2022/04/21/mlbs-marriage-with-analytics-changing-baseball-for-the-worse/ I've been checked out the last few seasons in the post season with the Mets being home. 2017 was the last year I cared a little about the MLB Playoffs enough to watch the games. Baseball today just seems so long, boring and heartless by this for me. I still prefer the old school manager type. That's why whether that was fair or not Buck seemed to be my #1 disappointment last season for how underperforming the team was
  19. I guess its a testament to his acting... I always found when he drove off the road the toughest scene to watch in that series
  20. Well the other side to that is I’m not sure how much of an anti Philly guy you are but they seem to be rocking and rolling Id still root for them in the World Series over the Rangers (not that I’d watch an inning of it). What probably influences my decision is really no contact with Phillies fans at all in my life
  21. As more time passes I'm not happy but a little more accepting of the result. Benefit of the doubt calls from the ref, karma, whatever it is I'm confident for sure the Bills lose this type of game during the Drought. Also, Daboll and Tyrod I'm sure had a little extra motivation in them last night to ball. And hey beating a much bigger market team on Primetime TV as well that's won 4 Super Bowls.
  22. It seemed per TV it got loud certain times in the 4th quarter but not like 2007 Dallas loud per say. Also, what was the mood of the fans leaving? To me watching on TV in my bedroom 400 miles away I felt like most fans on the forum do today…. Almost like the Bills lost. But I imagine being in person is a totally different feel
  23. I remember that show very fondly as well but well never looked at her like that at that age. She seemed the cool and good mom. Although I remember her and Frank always wanted to get it on 😅 When I started getting older though I looked at her and Peg Bundy differently like that. Haha Rest well. She seemed a good person in general
