  1. I’ll admit I definitely would get a little skeptical of someone’s character if they like the Chiefs now per say. I might question how loyal the person is. But yeah that sounds silly to not hire someone just because they like the Dolphins. Assuming they are a good fit otherwise
  2. I’m from New Jersey and never got into Springsteen, Bon Jovi, the Sopranos, and the shore to some extent. Heck I root against Rutgers football more often than not…. Stuff considered very NJ by many. Are there things considered very Buffalo you don’t care for? I guess if you use this site the Bills aren’t one of them. But I never seek out eating wings. The Goo Goo Dolls I tried but couldn’t get into their music
  3. I’m not sure they recognize it but one of my fave old school places/shops in the world https://m.yelp.com/biz/plainfield-donut-shop-plainfield
  4. I like there’s not as much hype around the team this offseason which is a big plus imo. That and well anything can happen but I thought these 3 events really drained/ burned out the team over the long haul: The Topps shooting, the 7 foot snowstorm, and then Hamlin. I don’t think we’ll see anything like that this year On the negative side the team gives off the impression they need harder coaching than presently. The whole Josh & Diggs relationship I feel can explode at any minute when they start practicing again
  5. As an adult man I don’t either. I outgrew all the basketball jerseys I had by the time I reached high school. I still kept them around a few years afterwards as a collector item. But it just all became a distant memory now only reopened in my now looking for nostalgia 😊
  6. I was going to write what NBA jerseys did you used to own but some posters here might still own some. When I was a kid especially in middle school (mid 90s) NBA Champion replica jerseys were like the in clothing item for boys. Kind of ironic as a Knicks fan in the 90s when I think back to the players jerseys I had: Bobby Hurley Kings #7 jersey- NJ kid, I liked his game, I didnt dislike Duke like I do now Michael Jordan- the #45 jersey. I was told one day the year he had that odd number one day owning that jersey would be like worth mega $$$ Nick Van Exel Lakers jersey- I went through a period very fascinated by the Showtime Lakers and the Great Western Forum. Owning that jersey seemed at the time the next best thing. Plus he was quick. Nick the quick. Thats the only people I can remember. Funny though I never had one for anyone on the Knicks
  7. @Gugny @ExWNYer @SinceThe70s Just something I noticed. Yeah 27-26 isn't impressive but it looks like the team is only 1/2 game out of the 2nd wildcard. The NL seems very tight overall if that's the right word. Dodgers have the best record at 32-21 and Cubs have worst record at 22-29. There's only really 9 games between the worst and best teams record wise right now
  8. You can check out any time but you can never leave
  9. Never got into it but I definitely recall this episode. Good memories
  10. To each their own when it comes to sports teams and rooting interests. Life happens…. I don’t hold it against fans who root for more than one team or switch allegiances. However jumping on teams bandwagon is weak AF. Just driving the other day I passed a house with a KC Chiefs flag flying on it. I mean really?
  11. I recall that game pretty well. I still thought Josh had to work on his accuracy after that day but Charles Clay really gypped him of a miraculous winning touchdown on 4th down. All he had to do was run up that last throw a little more.
  12. Do you do a little every day? Or just wait until the weekend to do it all with separate loads for all your clothes and bedsheets. Or you just never do it at all and have someone else do it or bring it to an outside service?
  13. I was a Saved By The Bell kid as well and share your sentiments. I was dumb and impressionable enough as a kid I thought high school would resemble that show 😅 Home Alone actually seems pretty bad now to me. The saving grace of the film to me is Kevin’s friendship with his neighbor
  14. @ExWNYer @Gugny @SinceThe70s I’ve just been goggling the scores the last week or so. Feel the team right now isn’t worth getting invested in. I don’t think Cohen has to go the whole Steinbrenner route of having his expectation to be 162-0 each year…. But yeah I wouldn’t mind seeing him nudge the guys a little more publicly. How I see it is they all have a privilege to be making millions playing the game
  15. I’d still definitely say the 90s but for out of town fans say of the Bills the team would be harder to follow or find merchandise for pre internet/online shopping. Today that’s easier to do. I miss the newspaper as well from that era being the gospel at least for me when it came to sports. I’d add it was a lot easier as well to follow sports on a local college/high school level as well. I’m sure I could find that stuff online but I can’t be bothered
  16. I'm in the same job/role/home from 6 years ago when I joined. But I felt joining here was the start of getting my mental health a little bit better on track. One of my first of many Off The Wall threads on the site related to depression and anxiety which I got good feedback on. Then I got the official diagnosis of autism. I still struggle with a lot of things about that label but long story short I have a much better idea of what I'm dealing with. Pretty cool to meet @BarleyNY in person and hang out with him a couple times as well
  17. 90s as well for me. But I would tell you September 2001-January 2002 was the zenith of crazed sports fandom in my life. Even as a Mets fan I was glued to the 2001 World Series between the Yankees and Diamondbacks. I stayed up to watch all 7 games. I did not witness the 1986 Series so I would tell you that's the best World Series I witnessed. Especially after 9/11 and all. Ditto the Super Bowl that year. It was exiting as hell but um I was rooting for the Patriots that night though 🤮 Fast forward to today where the Super Bowl means just checking out the Youtube highlights of it the next day and reading about it. The World Series just becomes a matter of googling the scores to me. I dont watch either one anymore if I dont have a rooting interest.
  18. How do I know this isn’t a ploy to find out a common security question for passwords 😁
  19. I like those late 80s/early 90s sort of erotic thrillers. The movie didn’t do very well but I thought/think Madonna in Body of Evidence was the hottest thing ever. Especially growing up. I’m not a big Nicole Kidman fan but she was very beautiful/sultry/evil in To Die For. Easily my favorite role she was ever in. So those 2 films for me.
  20. Maybe a middle option for me? I think the humor is still relevant but the show feels on the its all been shown too many times for my tastes.
  21. I googled yesterday's score and saw it was "Mental Health Awareness Day" at Citi Field as well. All Mets fans mental health would improve finding other hobbies/interests besides watching this inept team.
  22. I was watching a documentary on Bob Hurley the famous high school coach the other night. I know it's a totally different atmosphere and sport but would love to see or know of Buck delivering a speech as in the 1st 3 minutes below. NSFW I watched the highlights and could give Nimmo a little bit of a pass because that's very rare that kind of mental mistake like that in the 9th inning. But the team plays with no passion/fire/has no motivation. They are just whatever at this point. Overpaid athletes not worth getting worked up over.
