I hope Murphy has found an excellent groin masseuse, because we will need a pass rush.
Flacco is healthy this year and unless he gets pressured, can dice up even our solid secondary.
I think his ceiling is ~ Matt Schaub.
Schaub had 6 pretty decent consecutive years at Houston.
His arm wasn't much (is less now), but he was pretty effective from 2007-2012.
When they nicked/restructured him two years in a row, it had the feeling of Beane trying to provoke him to quit.
Might be wrong, but is just my take when it was all happening.
I like our TE group. Some tall guys that are reasonably quick with decent hands.
I think their size will be a big help for Peterman for middle of the field … 5 - 15 yards downfield.
I was really hoping we'd pick him in 2014. Incredible talent.
13th pick. The Factory of Pain chose Justin Gilbert at 8.
Watt was pick 11 in 2011, which was also insane. Gabbert and Locker went ahead of him.
Start Peterman. IMO, however temporary, he has won the position.
If we are behind by 28-7, put Allen in.
If we are ahead by 28-7, put Allen in.
Allen needs experience and if the game is out of hand, give him that experience.
As I recall, McDermott moved the coaches offices down by the locker room last year so they'd get tighter as a team.
I think that by now, the players know who should start and at least a few of them have passed their opinion on to the coach.
Pretty sure that right now it's Peterman. Some day and that day could be this year, it'll likely be Allen.
Our 1st 4 punts were not good.
~ 9th place in Punt Pass & Kick regionals.
Schmidt punts 34 yards to CIN 43
Schmidt punts 37 yards to CIN 25
Schmidt punts 35 yards to BUF 46
Schmidt punts 36 yards to CIN 21
I don't think it will happen, but our OL looks bad enough for 2-6.
Our lack of pass rush makes 0-8 a possibility.
The 3 things that stood out to me yesterday were
- Bad pass protection
- No pass rush
- Crappy punting
All of that leads to consistently losing field position and a lotta points.
I think Peterman has earned the start, but with that OL, it won't mean very much.
Unless the OL tightens up, we'll go through a long list of QBs this year.
