  1. Next year's salary cap doesn't account for our 2024 draft class yet or our 2025 draft class. I'm getting my numbers from Spotrac. I'm not counting whatever they carry over from this year because we don't know how much that's going to be yet.
  2. All true. But restructuring Allen again continues kicking the can down the road. And even if they do both that will give them $21mil with 2 rookie classes to pay for/ 13 empty roster spots (probably $15-$20mil just to fill in the roster and sign draft picks) plus Rasul Douglas and Spencer Brown. They aren't going to have to overhaul the roster again or anything but they are probably not going to have space to go sign a top tier WR/DE next year either. I still think the best use of draft resources this year and next year is to spend early picks on positions that are expensive in FA like WR/DE/CB/OT.. after Von Miller and Josh Allen there aren't a lot of cap saving moves available to Buffalo next year.
  3. Spotrac has the Bills at 5.8mil under the projected cap next year. That's before accounting for this year's rookies, next year's rookies, with only 38 players on the roster, and without re-signing Spencer Brown and Rasul Douglas if they are part of the Bills' plans going forward. It's better than this year was but unless I'm missing something, next year isn't great either. 2026 currently looks ok.
  4. Only if they think he's a starting CB in the NFL. The Bills are in salary cap jail for the next few years, early picks should be WR, DLine, OT, CB. If he's the best player left on their board and they think he'll translate to CB in the NFL it wouldn't be my first choice but I wouldn't hate it. Safeties are cheap enough in FA that even though it's a big need, I'd be disappointed with a Safety in round 1.
  5. If Chicago also added their 1st and 2nd round pics every year from now through 2031 I'd have to think about it.
  6. I like the idea of a trade down to the early 2nd round and grabbing two WRs. I don't think trading for one of the top 3 WRs is realistic. Or at least not a good idea. If the Bills give up 28, 60, 2025 1, 2 how do they fix the rest of the team? Our DEs are Rousseau and Von. Next year we pay $13mil for Rousseau if we want to keep him. After that he probably costs $20mil/year and gets a Tremaine Edmunds type contract for someone I think is a good player who is going to get paid like an all pro. We are going to need at least 1 probably 2 starting DEs. Our safeties are Rapp & Edwards. We have no O-line or CB depth. We have $5mil in cap space next year with only 38 players on the roster, 2024/2025 rookies not accounted for, and Rasul Douglas & Spencer Brown as free agents we might want to re-sign. If we trade up to the top of the draft for a WR and have no 1st or 2nd round picks and no cap space how do we even start fixing the defense until 2026/2027?
  7. I would fix any holes in the O-line, get one top notch receiver, a RB, draft a QB at 3 and save the rest of the money for next year. Keep drafting QBs high if needed, wait until you have a franchise QB then go on a massive spending spree.
  8. I'd sign him for vet minimum. If he can get more than that somewhere else I think that's more than we can afford at that position right now.
  9. I'd want him back at 3 yr / $21 mil but think he'll probably get a 5 yr $60-70mil contract somewhere else.
  10. I don't agree with everything McDermott does. I'll never forget that he tried to start Nathan Peterman TWICE the year Tyrod got us into the playoffs. But how many coaches in the last 40 years have the Bills had better than McDermott? His clock management skills are bad. His player evaluation is not always the best. But he's still one of the top 2 or 3 coaches we've had in decades. The grass isn't always greener..
  11. I think the Bills already have the talent to win it all. Last year they had to overcome a lot of adversity just to get to Cincinnati and for whatever reason they came out flat. The year before they either deserved to beat KC or at the very least played just as good as KC did and lost (in addition to 13 seconds) because of a coin toss. The Bills just need to keep the window of opportunity open as long as possible to get the maximum number of chances and sooner than later they'll win one with this team. You can argue who's better between KC, Cincinnati, Bills, Eagles, but IMO they are all pretty close and no one of those teams is going to beat the other more than 6 out of 10 times. So the Bills just needs to keep putting themselves in a position to win and one of these years they are going to.
  12. Is this a list of single best years or is this cumulative year to year? Weird to see Byrd over Allen, but Byrd did have one year for the Bills where I remember he played out of his mind. Something like an interception a game for 8 or 9 games or something insane.
  13. I didn't want to read through all 52 pages to see if it had been said before, but basically this. I didn't like the numbers when I first saw them, after seeing the contract details, IMO great deal for both sides, especially the Bills.
