  1. I guess they just rolled the "tank" over to this season since they couldn't even do that properly last year. Start McCarron behind a Swiss cheese OL, with no weapons, let him take a beating. Then next year they have $100 Mil in cap space, and top 5 draft position.
  2. Or in other words, the game has grossly changed, and they didn't even play college ball in the 90's, let alone THIS century. DBs were allowed to basically mug WRs back then, sorry if you have trouble differentiating between how the game WAS and how it IS currently played.
  3. Ok, any QBs in the last 25+ years would be helpful...
  4. Not sure where you are getting your info from, but I've never been a fan of giving up a bunch of draft picks, let alone 3/4 2nd and 3rd round picks. I was fine with just going BPA @ 12, if Allen was there then so be it. Otherwise, then Lamar Jackson @ 22, or Lauletta in the 2nd/3rd... Lately plenty of good QBs have come in rounds 2-4, Cousins, Wilson, Prescott, Carr, Watson, off the top of my head, just no reason to give up such valuable picks, Imo.
  5. Yeah, he is the norm and not a statistical outlier, right?
  6. Snowflakes? Yeah, you're cool... Less about the player, more about the price, even though I definitely wanted Rosen... "Oh, but he's a douchebag", yeah an Jim Kelly, Tom Brady, those guys weren't/aren't cocky in the least... Cards gave up way less to move up 5 spots, and get the better QB. How do you rebuild an O line with massive holes when you have no 2nd round picks and one late 3rd???
  7. Something similar is what I'm thinking. Maybe throw in a late rounder this year and a late rounder next year. But I don't see them throwing like 4-5 picks from this year in the trade, they have way too many holes to fill. I'm hoping 12/22 to the Broncos 5 and maybe a 4th or 5th. 12 will still get you a top 10 talent with the expected run on QBs.
  8. If Rosen/Darnold are sitting there at 5, I can't see Elway passing up on one of them or trading out of that spot. Buffalo will have to get 4 in order to be certain they can land their guy. Still hoping crossing my fingers that Allen/Darnold go 1/3 and then Buffalo gets its pick of Baker(!) or Rosen, I'd be happy with either, but preferably Mayfield.
  9. What was he, like 17? Big deal, kids say stupid ****. Unfortunately this generation thinks everybody wants to hear their opinion, and every thought that pops in their head, or decent plate of food should be tweeted/snapped/or posted on Instagram. The McCarron one is hilarious, kinda hope we draft him now.
  10. Browns going either Darnold/Allen 1. Giants Barkley/Chubb bc Gettlemen is going to try to win now with Eli and Beckham, not later. Jets, still think they could go Darnold/Allen. Browns take whoever Giants don't between Barkley/Chubb. 5th could very well be Mayfield/Rosen left, which is the ideal scenario...
  11. This is why it's important to draft your QB, preferably in round 1, bc you get 5 years of quality QB play on a bargain contract. Rams can afford to load up and make a run now. I'm pretty sure with all the cap space cleared out for next year, Beane is hoping to follow a similar blue print. Then, when the time comes to re-up, you hope he's the kind of QB who can elevate the play of his WRs so you no longer have to pay up for that position. No way Beane is staying at 12 and hoping to land his guy. This isn't just about finding a starting QB, this pick is basically Beane's career on the line. You hit on a franchise QB, instant job security... You miss on a QB, or hitch your wagon to the wrong guy, and your career as an NFL GM is likely over just as quick as it began.
  12. Wilson, Ben, Brady, Watson, Cousins, Brees, Garrapolo, Carr, Rodgers, Prescott, and to a lesser extent Foles, Keenum, Flacco, and Dalton. All QBs taken outside the top 10, most outside of round 1. Granted for every success story, there are 20 busts/flops, but still more than enough starting calibre and elite QBs are drafted all over the place. Give up the farm and hope you land a Wentz, but with this draft class, you are just as likely to end up with an RG3 instead. I rather they follow the BPA formula for round 1, especially at pick 12 with so many holes on this team. pick 22, BPA again, possibly Jackson here. 2nd/3rd Rd Lauletta.
  13. While I'm not thrilled with the cap hit, one can only assume Star played an integral role in McDermott's defenses, and it goes beyond any metric used on PFF. He and Beane simply weren't going to dick around trying to save a few bucks while hoping somebody else could fill the role/learn the concepts the way they KNOW Lotulelei can. Trust the Process.
  14. Tyrod Taylor is a former 6th round pick, going into his 8th year in the league, coming off 3 consecutive years starting... pretty sure he's worked out long term, and out performed his draft status. Wentz, Prescott, Wilson, Watson, Mariota, Newton (not big on, but went to a SB), are all pretty "dynamic"...
  15. List of the best of the last 20 years WR- Moss, TO, Antonio Brown, Megatron, and Larry Fitzgerald Edge- Julius Peppers, V.Miller, Ware, Strahan, Rice Tackle- Thomas, Pace, Peters, Jones, Ogden RB- Tomlinson, Faulk, Peterson, Bell- Zeke and David Johnson both have a very decent chance at making it too. TE- Gonzalez, Gronk, Gates... Only draft TE's who's last name starts with G DT- Sapp, Wilfork, Seymour, Donald, Watt LB- Lewis, Brooks, Urlacher, Willis Safety- Polamalu, Reed, Dawkins, Berry CB- C. Woodson, Revis, Bailey, Peterson, Sherman C- Saturday, Kreutz, Mawae, Mack G- L. Allen, Faneca, Hutchinson, Brown, Martin, Yanda
  16. Wouldn't touch Rudolph. He and Allen are the two QBs I hope Beane and McDermott really want nothing to do with... Pretty sure I'm wrong and they like both though. I'd trade up to 4-5 and land Mayfield. They can do it without having to make a stupid RG3 type trade. It's unfortunate the draft is before Free Agency. If they could land Mayfield, I wouldn't even worry about signing a vet as a "place holder" until he's up to speed, but just about any other QB in this draft I feel they should hold on to Taylor for one more year. He's not perfect, but perhaps Dabol can get Taylor and this offense back to where it was under Rex, averaging around 25 PPG.
  17. I hope they make a strong play for Cousins. I feel if he can find a franchise with the right GM/Coach in place, he could have a very similar career to Drew Brees. The Redskins were a mess this year, everywhere except QB. Pryor sucked, the run game sucked, their defense SUCKED (T-5th worst at 388 total points allowed, with the GIANTS...), and his top pass target is probably the most injury prone player in the league (Jordan Reed). In his first 3 full seasons as a starter he has gone for 81 TDS to 36 INTS with a QB Ratings of 101.6, 97.2, and 93.2 while surpassing 4,000 yards in every season (nearly 5K last year). The "regression" if you can even call it this year, falls on the team they put around him. He's also had 13 Rushing TDS in those three seasons as well, only ONE shy of Tyrod, but Cousins can actually sling it as well. Obviously he's not the runner Tyrod is, but he does have a knack for finding pay dirt with his legs if he has to it seems. Go back and look at some of Brady's #'s in his first DECADE as a starter. It wasn't until 07 that he really started going off... Prior to that his numbers were very average, and not very "GOAT-ish".
  18. So basically, trade down and load up on 6th rounders? Antonio Brown 6th round, 195th overall... Tom Brady 6th round, 199 overall...
  19. I'm a believer in people learning from their mistakes, especially when he was so young in his first OC gig. I think this will be a good hire.
  20. No, they were a Jesse James TD away from home field throughout... He definitely didn't have his team prepared today though, not on the defensive side of the ball. I agree, he's nothing special but his record as a HC speaks for itself, nobody is canning a HC coming off the season he just had combined with how good his resume looks on paper.
  21. Ah geez, I'm sorry... When you said "8-6 with 2 rings. Yeah he's awful." I figured you MUST"VE been referring to Ben, since everybody knows Tomlin only has ONE ring... I took your misinformation out of context... My Bad
  22. So you're making the argument that Kelly shouldn't be in the Hall then, as so many have for TD? A little different. Talking about the innovator of the no huddle offense, Hall of Fame QB, who lead a team to something that still has never been replicated, and saying he isn't "on the same level" as the 5th-6th best QB playing right now... That's just ignorant
  23. No... try again. Saying One Hall of Fame QB is not on another Hall of Fame QB's Level, literally makes no sense if they are both Hall of Famers...
  24. LOL, well when you have some time, maybe you go back and actually watch some games instead of comparing #'s... Not on Ben's level. That's just !@#$ing insulting to a legend. A Hall of Famer not on Ben's level... Outstanding, great job.
