  1. Couldn't agree more... Moncrief is JAG, Hilton is a legit #1. His contract isn't bad at all in terms of cap hit. He may not be open to a restructure now, but I'm sure by the last year of the deal, (when the cap hit is the largest), he will be open to an extension/restructuring. If a 4th, or 2019 3rd, get it done, then get it done. I am all about building draft capital, but there is still enough time in the season that TY can come in, run some basic routes, and have the playbook digested by the time this team is rolling into December, and it's first legitimate playoff push. The goal is to win a SuperBowl. This defense is ready... You get TY Hilton, Clay back, and Matthews now getting back to 100% & familiar with the playbook; all you need to add is a capable back up incase Shady goes down (Devontae Booker!), then buckle up and get your popcorn ready... for real this time.
  2. Ej Gaines rated out as I believe one of the worst man-cover corners in the league last year, if memory serves me correctly... not denying he has been solid this year, but I don't think he is shutting down, or even stifling Mike Evans.
  3. We don't play a man coverage scheme tho. Unfortunately, the Bucs will decide who covers Evans. We won't have any one corner in particular shadowing him.
  4. And so did David Carr and Blaine Gabbert.... How did those guys turn out?
  5. It's very simple. If you have any desire to see Peterman succeed in the NFL, you definitely do no want him on the field with this offense as it currently stands. Forget "game breaking play makers", we currently don't even have a possession receiver to simply move the chains, let alone a big play threat. Why would you want to throw a rookie QB to the wolves with zero weapons? Shady isn't really the home threat he was last year, idk if he is still adjusting to the zone blocking, but the rook won't even have a reliable ground game to fall back on, or a safety net at TE... Anybody blaming Taylor seriously just has a vendetta against the man, and that's between you and him. But the current deficiencies on offense absolutely do NOT fall on Taylor's shoulders... He missed one big throw yesterday, and yes it COULD have been the difference in the game (Logan Thomas for a TD), but A-it was a difficult throw off his back foot without being set due to pressure and B- Even Matt Ryan missed throws last week so, it's just a part of the game. Taylor is not the problem, he never has been. Everybody wants Rodgers, or Brady, but even those GOATS are surrounded by some elite talent. Even Fitz had Stevie Johnson in his prime and a sound running game. The only group of WR that MIGHT be worse than the current Buffalo Bills is the Giants, and thats because FOUR were hurt in one game, and if they even just get Marshall and Sheppard back, they are still light years ahead of what we have to deal with here in Buffalo. Starting to think this is a case of "Major League" where the team wasn't suppose to be winning right now, and has surpassed everybody's expectations, but given the GROSS lack of depth, I think the fun is over. With the amount of touches Shady gets, its only a matter of time until he gets at least a little banged up and misses some time... at which point our lead back will be Mike Tolbert- The incredibly poor man's Jerome Bettis (if you are to be optimistic about it.). Point is, Peterman would be a disaster right now, not just in the W/L column, but for his best interests in his long term development. I'm all about getting young QBs on the field sooner, rather than later, but not if they are CLEARLY being set up to fail and have ZERO legitimate weapons in the passing game. Taylor has been set up to fail, and he was doing what any good QB would do in his shoes- Game managing a group of misfits to a winning record, and not committing turnovers... The same thing this Alex Smith guy has been doing for years. They blew 2 firsts on a rookie QB they obviously did not need, all Smith, like Taylor, needed was a supporting cast of dynamic players - Hunt, Hill and Kelce. Where are Taylor's? Shady, and......... There is NO Quarterback that would put up big passing numbers with the current group of skill players this team has... NONE, including Rodgers & Brady. The current "#1 WR" LITERALLY can not hold on to the football, and the #2 WR everybody was clamoring to be cut in training camp so we could grab an extra, late 3rd rounder. Then we have essentially a couple returners in Tate and Kaelin Clay. Taylor was using his ONLY weapon for as long as the guy's knee would stay together. But sure, maybe Nate Peterman is the answer.
  6. Just disagree... Those long FG attempts were far from "safe" calls, and I don't get the "Jauron-Ball" stuff, it makes no sense, this defense is not some "bend but not break" bs. The only similarity is the run heavy approach on offense. There was no dynamic TE, the defense was nowhere near as aggressive, it's just a lazy comparison.
  7. Atleast get the division right if you're going to drop some ultra-dooshey comment after a big win....
  8. If Ryan Matthews can pass a physical, he needs to be on the roster tomorrow... edit - Just read he had a neck injury, but passed a physical before Philly released him. He and D'Angelo would be on my short list. If they saw that much of J Will and decided not to keep him, then I'm all set with him too... This staff had seen him all TC, and determined he just wasn't worth a roster spot. Maybe Banyard can be our McKissic. All I know is Dimarco should never touch the football.
  9. you should probably just stop watching football... I don't think you're getting it.
  10. No? You can tell it like it is. Put your big boy pants on, they're just words...
  11. If Zay is even halfway decent, and Dennison is a capable coach - Matthews, Zay, Boldin, Clay, Shady. QBs have played and had success with far worse options, that is plenty of starting talent if the scheme works.
  12. I think the goal is clearly to stay competitive WHILE rebuilding the team Beane and McD want to field. They may have lost a dynamic player in Watkins, but they also made sure to fill holes with capable starting talent & invest in the future. All this tank talk is premature. This front office isn't following the traditional "tank and reload" model. If they deal McCoy then the conversation can shift. But until then, I still think there is enough starting talent on this team, that if McD, Frazier and Dennison coach the way I believe they can, AND the team stays healthier than most others, they could still compete for a WC spot.
  13. Indeed, sad about Tez, RIP. And I didn't even notice the first misspelling, but I'm drunk so...
  14. "You're" is the contraction for "You Are." You essentially think he should have said "Take you are vitamins..."??? Grammar Nazi Fail?
  15. Everything in this post is ridiculous- 1- Why hasn't the NFL pumped out an army of "homicidal monsters". In no way is there any correlation between football and slaughtering two innocent people. 2- A much better life has he never touched a pig skin? Are you kidding? He knocked down a lot of walls for African American athletes, even if it wasn't his intention to do so. He was handed an amazing life because of his physical talents. Had he never played football, he would have had a much harder life like the majority of African Americans during the civil rights movement (when he was establishing himself at USC). If he's a homicidal maniac, then he would have likely ended up in jail at some point anyway. But football gave him a life the overwhelming majority of people can only dream of, provided him with countless acting and spokesman opportunities, nobody is to blame for anything except OJ's unbalanced brain chemistry that allowed him to squander the perfect life he had.
  16. I think a B is generous. Losing Gilmore for nothing, when he should have atleast been franchised was a big mistake. Losing a CB in the prime of his career to divisional dominant rivals who are also defending Super Bowl champs, along with a HB who has a nose for the endzone???? That's a "B"??? This guy must post here regularly.
  17. What a sorry individual you are... Whenever I ponder "how did the country get itself into it's current mess?", I remember there are people like you who are allowed to vote, and raise children.
