It was embarrassing on a national stage. And not just on the sports stage. People I know who don't even follow football were asking me about Davis this week. I was being just a bit hyperbolic in the OP having a little fun, but I guarantee the players used that this week to some degree. So, again... thanks Vontae.

So did Benjamin and Clay

I think the Bills heard all the noise and all the jokes all week. Last week you could just see how pissed off leaders like Lorax and Micah Hyde were after Davis quit on the team. Good leaders use that as a teachable moment at the very least if not as a spark in a room full of kindling. Throw in the adjusting McDermott and Frasier seem to be doing sharing the playcalling and an offense that's moving the ball and scoring and taking advantage of great defensive play and that Davis retirement last week could be the gift that keeps on giving. Right now I'm thinking the Bills do something like what they did in the movie Major League... put a life-size cardboard cutout with detachable pieces of Vontae Davis in the locker room every week. For every W, pull off a piece. And then another. And another. Until we make the playoffs... And there's a life-size cardboard cutout of Davis in Buffalo's locker room as we enter the playoffs with just Buffalo Bills socks and a Banana Hammock left... also removable, of course

As a white guy married to a beautiful Thai, Indian, Hawaiian, Chinese, and Portuguese woman, I'll just say... Well done Micah -
Considering that it's live game action and when you watch how much he throws that football at ease and that 49 mph is the same number Peterman threw at the combine when he had nothing else he had to think about except "Throw ball HARD!!!" This from the guy who over YEARS of posting has CONSTANTLY used the phrase "he has a cannon for an arm" in praise of numerous prospects and current NFL QBs. My how quickly we forget

https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2018/9/20/17868504/josh-allen-throwing-velocity-analysis-all-22-film-arm-strength "Not too long ago, we discussed throwing velocity on sideline passes. Understandably, there was some disappointment that no actual velocities were calculated. I promised to rectify that issue when All-22 angles were available. As was hopefully demonstrated before, the broadcast angles make it very difficult to determine the exact spot of the ball in many cases. Good news everyone! The All-22 is out and we can set the stage for accurate velocity determinations. Let’s select a Josh Allen play and check out the broadcast angle. This isn’t his fastest pass, but it’s a decently quick toss over the middle." … click the link to look at the rest of the article for methodology and results... but here's the ending: "What’s impressive isn’t the flat out speed, it’s more that Allen looks pretty casual about it. Most importantly, now that the methodology has been set and accuracy increased, we can look at throws as they come up. Next time a pass is coming in hot and you’re curious how fast it was, give me a shout and maybe you’ll get your answer."

9-21 Bills live McDermott presser

Exactly. People are fine with it when we're winning and whine about it when we're losing. I'm amazed at how off the rails people are getting after two freakin games -
Are you being serious? This is just a hypothetical, right? Personally, I think betting $5,000 on just about anything is kinda dumb. But I'm not a gambler. But in terms of this game, isn't the spread like 16.5 points? So you just bet $5,000 that the Bills would actually get worse and lose by even more to the Vikings than the Chargers? Yes, I think it was a stupid bet if it was real. McDermott should be calling the defensive plays (even if he says he's sharing those duties with Frasier), so our defense shouldn't be the sieve it was for the first 3 halves of football this season. Allen showed his teammates last week he's resilient and I think that gives the rest of the team some confidence. And shuffling Bodine in for Groy will hopefully prove to be an upgrade. It was a shaky bet, at best. I think you should have bet on your favorite team. And that's not the homer in me talking.
