Bombs in Mail to Democrat Leaders?
transplantbillsfan replied to Cinga's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No, that's actually NOT AT ALL what my argument boils down to. It really isn't. It's there for you to find it if you want. PPP is definitely not where I will spend my time, but this half-day venture has been eye-opening. -
Bombs in Mail to Democrat Leaders?

Defintely not under a rock, just don't have time for pointless political banter where everyone is completely dug in. Why bother? This country needs a 3rd party. It's that simple. And the Green Party and Libertarians sure as hell aren't it. Didn't realize this message board had such an insanely right-hand lean to it, but I guess I should've expected that since WNY is predominantly Red. Have fun with your pack. Look at what he said in the post I responded to and go back to the argument itself. Still not the claim. Not spelling it out. Don't have the time for this pointless political banter. How many brain cells do you have remaining after being dropped on the head a lot as a child? Enjoy your day. PS: Heard Alex Jones was banned from twitter and Facebook... where do you watch him now? -

Funny. That wasn't the claim at all. You really do have your head so far up your butt, apparently you can't remember the essence of an argument. -
Bombs in Mail to Democrat Leaders?

Yikes. The media didn't ignore any of that. What a great example you've provided of how much twitter is ruining our society. Talk about divided times. Just to point to one example, Michelle Obama once said "when they go low, we go high." Obviously a metaphor. Obviously not in relation to physical fights. Obviously tied to dialogue. Eric Holder, very obviously responding to her metaphor and reversing it, said "when they go low, kick them." Also, obviously a metaphor. And frankly, the Democrats biggest downfall politically has been that they've been far more civil and don't get dirty the way Republicans to, in general. There's nothing about anything physical there and everyone who's even remotely informed understood that what he said was a metaphor in response to another metaphor. All of those comparisons in that stupid tweet, besides the fact that they're basically apples to oranges in the types of things being said by our President, are being said by people who are NOT the President of our country. -
Do you really not see the difference between the President of the United States of America and some random comedian, journalist, or regular Dude? Apparently because of who currently resides in the Oval Office for the last 2 years, 240 years of precedence over the responsibility and culpability of the gentleman who sits behind the Resolute Desk should be thrown in the toilet and flushed... ?

I have posted thoughts. I've responded. I've asked questions. You throw out childish insults. How about you man up and respond to those specific thoughts and questions. It's interesting that you're the one criticizing people in the OTW thread for talking politics and saying "take it over to PPP!!!" when you're the one who first threw out one of the biggest conspiracy theories that got the conversation rolling and riled up in the first place. -

Wow. I see I've struck a nerve. -
You're right, Trump is ultimately the symptom of an escalation of the political climate that coincided with Obama's election and the advent of the Smartphone and mass use of Social Media. Once Obama, our 1st African-American President was elected and in his first 2 years fulfilled one of the primary promises he was elected on, the fear mongering of the far right came out in droves, disguising overtly racist comments and unprecedented-throughout-American-history actions as "unintentional" or "just politics." It came largely in the form of the "grass-roots" tea party movement, something Ted Cruz was a big part of. So you're right, Trump is the symptom. Actually, more accurately, he's a secondary infection the way pneumonia is for elderly people after a bout of the flu.

The statement didn't deserve any kind of elaborate response. Obama wasn't perfect, but he did a helluva lot more good than bad for our country. As far as news sources, as long as you're looking at multiple sources and aren't relying solely on one that has been consistently proven to report fallacies, it's fine. NPR, PBS Newshour, BBC World News, Associated Press, etc. Look at your FOX News if you want, too, just as long as you don't rely on it solely the way so many do. That's I assume what Boyst and some others are referring to... statements of protest like "get in their faces" by democratic elected officials. Some have even pointed to Eric Holder's statement of "When they go low, kick them" as a statement to incite violence when it's obviously metaphorical and obviously a response to Michelle Obama's statement. Trump has just directly and bluntly called for violence. Maybe he thought he was being funny and people wouldn't take him seriously, but there's no 2 ways to interpret a statement like "if you do (hurt him), I'll defend you in court, don't worry about it" or "knock the crap out of him, would you? I promise you, I will pay your legal fees" or "I'll beat the crap out of you" or "I'd like to punch him in the face" or... Our president is just a bully. It's funny because today just happens to be "Unity Day" and, as a teacher, we were all given rubber wristbands to give to our students with the words "Unite for kindness, acceptance, and Aloha." Appropriate given today's events.

Nope. Has yours? Link? No, he was a registered Independent who had apparent views aligned with the far left AND the far right, but closer and closer to the shooting his views appeared to veer pretty far right. Fields was left? White supremacists are left? A White Supremacist at a Unite-the-RIGHT rally is left? You strike me as someone who's intelligent, so I just assume you're trolling at this point.

There are violent people on both sides, that much is obvious, but Trump, the President of our country and (frighteningly) the most powerful man in the world, has called for outright violence against those on the other side, praising a guy for bodyslamming a journalist, saying he'd pay legal bills to audience members at rallies who would "knock the crap" out of protestors or saying "I'll defend you in court if you hurt him" when saying to get a protester out of a rally (a man actually did punch a protester at a rally as he was being escorted out a month later) among other things. And he's inciting fearmongering among his more ignorant supporters by saying stupid, negligent stuff like Democrats being "evil" and "too dangerous to govern" and calling the press the "enemy of the people," going so far as to tweet a video of Trump tackling and punching a person with a CNN logo superimposed on his head or saying Obama "founded" ISIS or suggesting that if Clinton were to be elected in 2016 the 2nd amendment folks could take things into their own hands. Not to mention being afraid to just outright and absolutely condemn the White Nationalists in Charlottesville. Our political climate is disgusting at this point, and 45 is responsible for it. Next thing ya know he's going to claim Democrats are too violent and for the country's protection, he's enforcing Martial Law. Ho ly CRAP!!! Yeah, right. It's all Obama's fault. I see you're enjoying your FAUX News.

Ummmm... what????? I guess there's a reason I come to message boards to talk sports and not politics. Are you saying in your last 3 sentences there that Democrats are the ones who have been calling for violence? Are you an avid Infowars fan? Not a nut. A terrorist. I wish our country would stop calling acts like this that of terrorists when it's someone of brown skin, but someone with "mental problems" when they have white skin.

Notable Nexflix / Amazon / Premium Channel Series & Movies
transplantbillsfan replied to Heitz's topic in Off the Wall
I hope they keep up with the Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders, Punisher stuff on Netflix. I think those are the shows I've enjoyed watching most on there. I heard Iron Fist is done in terms of its own individual series, but the character can be back in other series. I don't get the hatred for Iron Fist. I think it was tied for my 3rd favorite show among the 5 other individual storylines of (in order of my favorites) Daredevil, Punisher (I just really like the actor from when he was Shane in The Walking Dead), Luke Cage/Iron Fist, Jessica Jones. I'm gonne be curious to see what happens with these Netflix Marvel shows once Disney gets their own streaming service up. They cancelled Luke Cage? Really? That was a helluva cliffhanger season 2 ended on. This is what I thought, too. I thought Netflix retained rights to all the shows it already has, including the Marvel ones. Is it the weirdly twisted tone of American Horror Story? I didn't like that show at all after giving it a brief shot. -
How and Why The Bills Could Win Monday Night

Anything can happen on any given Sunday. Unfortunately, this game is being played on a Monday. -

So kill it. And accept PMs so that when I want to say something to you, I don't have to bump a stupid thread like this. The thread was dumb from the beginning. It's not like bumping it at this point is any more dumb than it was the 7 pages before I bothered. Close it. Lock it. Take a breath. Internet attention is not real love. -

#1: Please stop harassing me. #2: Stop spreading your alternative facts. I deleted that Taylor thread very quickly after he was released, specifically to allow people to crow about being right. Me keeping that thread open for months literally never happened and it's pretty sad you'd put something like that out publicly. I deleted that thread within days after he was traded. Saying it was months is ridiculous. And deleting is something you should do yourself with this one right now. You have the power. I actually tried sending this to you as a PM so as not to embarrass you, but your reputation is clearly suffering from your posting style--like your incessant nagging of 26CB. Hell, I have a better rep than you... I mean, that's just sad, Shady -

I guess you're a real do as I say, not as I do kinda guy, huh? It was never a case in the 1st place. If McDermott starts Peterman over any other healthy QB we have on the roster this year, he's going to be prematurely fired. And I actually like McDermott. -

Anderson has been named the starter. Time for the OP to delete/lock the thread since it's irrelevant. Thanks, OP -

Do you really have that short a memory? Is Peterman your son? Is that why you're calling him "my boy"? At this point, that seems to be the only reason anyone could ever use those 2 words in reference to Nate Peterman the NFL QB. -

Made it worse? Anderson, despite his stats, actually looked relatively capable out there, especially considering less than 2 weeks before he took a 2018 NFL regular season snap, he was on a beach with his family somewhere. Peterman should never see an NFL field again, unless he's a covert operative for the Buffalo Bills and McDermott who come to some kind of under-the-table agreement for Nate to go play for another AFC East team and win them over the way he somehow won our dummy (at least when it comes to QBs) Head Coach over. Anderson was something that almost started to resemble an NFL offense on Sunday until Clay fumbled and the wheels came off. Anderson should absolutely start. There is nothing good that can ever come from seeing Peterman in a meaningful NFL game for the Bills ever again.
