  1. I disagree. At least if Allen plays our future is learning and progressing on the field. Yet again, Peterman demonstrates why Allen should have always been given the 1st team reps over the Summer. I legitimately think for the good of the person in Nate Peterman, he needs to be cut so he can move on from football forever, because it's not a game he can play at the professional level and his psyche and probably his family's psyche is getting seriously damaged.
  2. Bro, why don't you quit the contest with 26CB. I know you idolize the way him and Yolo are so up to the minute and are doing everything you can to try to be them by starting some of the same "Bills vs ___________ Game Preparation" type threads the 2 of them typically start... and have likely done for YEARS as opposed to the year and a half you and I have been guests here. There has pretty much always been a thread covering the Wednesday PCs. Put your measuring stick away.
  3. #1 and #5 are interconnected. No, it might not be "just Daboll," but the majority of it is on him since the onus is on him for rookie QB development and he's doing a piss poor job of it so far. Regarding Phillips... I assume you're referring to Jordan Phillips...? If so, I agree
  4. Why not? Peterman is one of the worst QBs I've ever seen play and Jones backed up Big Ben for 4 years. Bring him in. Cut Peterman. 100%.
  5. If we get a 2nd AND 3rd round pick, you take it. No friggin way in hell that happens.
  6. I agree with everything in here except your confidence in Daboll, who's starting to worry me a little. Allen's ceiling is definitely higher than Newton. That thread projecting it as "Newton-lite" is absolutely preposterous. But a good OC/QB coach along with some semblance of protection and weapons to get the ball to are integral to any young QB reaching his ceiling, and I'm starting to worry about that.
  7. Anyone who thinks Anderson isn't a massive upgrade on what we have behind Allen as both backup and mentor is nuts, absolutely nuts.
  8. The last 3 games have shown me that when Allen has space and time to throw and an OC who's calling passing plays of the short, timing variety (the Vikings game), he looks like a Franchise QB. But when he gets a lot of pressure, some footwork/mechanics issues creep up that impact his accuracy. What I would love to see is a QB coach who has a ton of footwork/mechanics expertise to help him during the season. But I'm glad at least we got Derek Anderson as our backup (is that even official yet?), because I think that'll really help.
  9. I loved the game. It was super exciting. The game was outstanding, Allen wasn't. You just overstated it. Just because I said Allen struggled doesn't mean I didn't think it was an outstanding game to watch. And I agree that I think Allen is our answer. But what the last couple Sundays have shown is that he really has a lot of work to do, not that he's anywhere near where he needs to be.
  10. Shaw, you and I are normally on the same page, but I just have to ask... did you recently start smoking a lot of dope? No judgement on my part if you did. I'm just asking because I think you're much too high on Allen in that game. I think, much like you, that it's great for him to be out there and struggle while the team still wins games. But Allen wasn't outstanding. He flashed. And there's no way in hell he shouldn't be starting right now. But he struggled. And I blame Daboll for that. You seem to conjure up a couple "good" plays from Daboll to show the outstandingness of the game, but I just saw a small handful of really good play calls/ designs (the Ray Ray screen immediately comes to mind) and a whole bunch of Ivory and McCoy and, most importantly, the Defense (honorable mention to Hauschka) bailing out a QB and WRs who are just seriously struggling with chemistry and rhythm and timing and accuracy and getting open and... All of this just makes me wish Allen were getting the #1 reps from the beginning of the Summer even more in order to become more comfortable in the system and gain more chemistry with the guys he's throwing to. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but Allen starting sooner rather than later this season seemed pretty inevitable based off the QBs we had on our roster.
  11. Don't even have to watch All-22 to realize our OC seems like yet another stubborn play caller who won't adjust his passing attack to accomodate and develop the QB he has under center. And that's kinda shocking to me considering that's.... like.... exactly what he did at Alabama last year.
  12. No. His ceiling certainly is NOT Cam Newton Lite. Do you understand what a "ceiling" even refers to when it comes to athletes?
  13. If this is what he said, I get it, because I was upset with the playcalling. But my problem with the playcalling wasn't because of development. It was because I thought it was frighteningly predictable. My PTSD of Dennison's predictability kicked in. Luckily, Ivory is SooOOooo much better than Tolbert. But that doesn't mean Daboll can't have Allen throwing, too. What happened to the RPOs? Where are the screens? Where are the quick slants? You can protect Allen while still developing him and allowing him to throw. I just hope Anderson ends up being a good mentor to Allen. It's another Carolina connection, obviously, but I think he served Newton well as a backup.
  14. Daboll called a perfect game today? Wow. With all due respect, I strongly and stridently disagree.
  15. I disagree. Daboll has been a disappointment. I think you're giving him credit for a few good play calls in the midst of a whole bunch of predictable play calls. I wish he would get better.
  16. Fantastic! We need a capable backup and, maybe more importantly, we need a veteran QB to likely teach Allen since none of our coaches are doing a good job with that.
  17. Ex-NFL quarterbacks got into a nerdy Twitter debate over Josh Allen https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/10/nfl-bills-josh-allen-dan-orlovsky-kurt-warner-twitter-debate
  18. This is what I don't get. Yeah, Allen sucked last game. He was also really good the week before against the Vikings. But what has Darnold done to show he should be starting up to this point?
  19. Huh? Water and food are important for person's survival, but you can survive longer without food. Thus Water is more important. That doesn't mean food isn't also really important. His statement doesn't mean strategy isn't important, just that culture is more important. I think I'd agree.
  20. Culture sure as hell does matter a lot. Last year was a big culture shift and it just so happened to be the year we broke the longest playoff drought in sports. Do you think the Patriots don't have a certain culture all the long timers have bought into? Just because culture might trump strategy, that doesn't mean strategy doesn't matter a lot, too.
  21. This season is just going to naturally be full of ebbs and flows. Everyone would have been ecstatic with a 2-2 record to start the season with the schedule we had. We're 1-3. That's okay. I expect us to go at least 2-2 in the next quarter and 3-1 is attainable. Back half of the season consists of 5 home games and 5 division games. Yes, we're still alive and fine. The season is just a work in progress. It's unfortunate McDermott fell for the Peterman mirage over the Summer because it took a lot of valuable reps away from Allen getting some chemistry with his OL and WRs. This thing is just gonna take time. Daboll needs to be a lot more creative than he was on Sunday. But considering the youth at the most important position on offense and the most important position on defense, I expect we'll probably see this pattern of 1 step back for every 1 or 2 steps forward we take throughout the year. But yes, playoffs are still very much within reach.
  22. Did you feel the need to start this thread because your ridiculous "who should start next week?" poll/thread got quickly locked down for its stupidity? Who even cares at this point about Tuel or Peterman. One player isn't on our team. The other might as well be a Ghost. I think at this point keeping Peterman as the sole backup simply serves the purpose of fans giving Allen a much longer leash than he might have if we had any remotely capable backup QB. Fans might see Allen have a bad home game and be much more hesitant to boo him because... OH CRAP!!! LOOK AT THE ALTERNATIVE!!!!
  23. That might be the case. This might be an isolated instant. But I distinctly remember one of those 3rd and shorts where Allen was holding onto the ball for awhile and was sacked and the replay showed from above that all the WRs but one were running like 15+ yards past the LOS. I didn't pay for Game Pass this year and I'm just curious if YPP or Cover-1 are identifying that play as being poor play design by Daboll.
  24. Can someone find the 3rd down play that was like a 3rd and 4 or something and he got sacked and then the broadcast showed the bird's eye view of the play and there were 3 routes that were like 20+ yards down the field and only ONE short route. Allen had time to deliver a short pass for a 1st down play on that route and as I watched in real time I was pissed he didn't throw it. But then they showed the bird's eye view on the replay and it was obviously a coverage sack and a really, really poor play call by Daboll, who should have had more quick, short timing routes in the game as a whole, but particularly on a 3rd and short like that.
