No, he's not. What Anderson was able to string together after less than 3 weeks in this offense was still much more impressive than what we saw from Peterman after a full offseason. I'm sorry your boy sucks and everyone knows that even the prospect of starting him this season week 1 was an utter and absolute Epic Fail. That said, I'll still root for him to win on Sunday... as much for his own psyche as the team itself. But that's my heart and gut, which never root against the Bills. My head knows we aren't going anywhere this year and a top 5 pick would be helpful long term. My head knows Peterman would be very helpful in achieving more Losses more than any other QB on our roster.

Well, upon reflection, I think the Giants or Raiders will have the #1 pick. So how about AJ Brown in the top 5? We're still going to need crappy QB play for the rest of the season to lock up even a top 5 pick. Our schedule is just too easy for. The 2d half of the season and our defense is just too damn good. Well, now the coaches can just say there's no better healthy option

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Fans in the Dumps

Well, here's what our own GM said recently: “There’s not a lot of guys who’ve played quarterback who has this injury, it’s more of a baseball type of injury... It's one of those things that we’re just taking it slow. He’s an important piece to our team and we don’t want to cause a setback.” That's a little concerning, to me--particularly the 1st sentence.. Not a lot, but a little. -

Shaw, one more thing. I'd be less worried about Edmunds being injury prone than Allen. I'm not particularly worried about either, but Allen's injury is significantly more rare than Edmunds, and it involves the same ligament that, depending on severity of the injury and as a worst case scenario, could end a QB's career. I don't think that's the case with Allen. I think he was just hit very awkwardly by 2 separate defenders. But there's a small part of me that's definitely thinking about the fact that he was a pitcher in High School and could throw a rocket of a fastball. Has there been overuse damage? Again, only a tiny fraction of me thinks that chance is there. But it's a bigger concern for me right now--considering the number of weeks Allen has already missed and the fact that he isn't actually throwing yet--than Edmunds' concussion, from which he already seems to be progressing through the protocol. -
He sucks. That's a simple fact. I don't hate him, though. I'm legitimately rooting for the kid to get better, especially now that he has to start a week or 2. What terrifies me is the prospect of us winning a game or 2 before the bye with Peterman before the bye--which would be ideal--and then Josh Allen being healthy enough to play but McDermott sticking with Peterman because of a couple wins. Once Allen is healthy. He should start. It doesn't remotely matter how Peterman plays the next two weeks because whatever he does, he's bound to implode. But McDermott's love for the kid is frightening because I could see him being blinded by a snapshot of success.

McD - Allen isn't too far off in throwing again

This all stemmed from us talking about how many Ws we'd get. You said "we won't get 2 or 3 more no matter who's starting." Well, 2 or 3 more wins gives us 4 or 5 wins and we're not likely in the top 3 or even top 5 in the draft. Anderson is more capable than Peterman. He sucks, but not as much as Peterman. Hell, for chunks of last night's game, our passing game was almost existent. And the guy has only been in Buffalo for 3 weeks. He'll never be good for Buffalo, but compared to Peterman, he might look like an All-pro by the end of the season if he were given all the reps. With our Defense and remaining schedule, a QB who sucks a little less might be the difference between the 3rd pick and the 13th pick. Comprehend? So for 9 quarters they weren't Elite. For 23 quarters they were. Fine, sorry. Our Defense has been Elite 72% of the season and has been bad 28% of the season.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Fans in the Dumps

It was a moral victory. I hate to say it, but it was. Our defense is Elite. It's absolutely incredible. Kyle and Lorax have, very simply, found the fountain of youth. I thought this was obviously both of their last season's in Buffalo. Now I'm wondering why it would be. Hughes should be retained once his contract is up. He's a beast. 3/4ths of our secondary is Elite, and White is just a revelation. I've been on the Edmunds train since we drafted him and he's made some rookie mistakes, but he's been a lot more really good than bad. Why haven't you liked Milano? He might be the 2nd best player on our team right now. He's just been spectacular since he took the field last year. Our Defense must be so damn frustrated. What would there be on offense to make us remotely happy? Zay Jones finally looks like the WR we drafted... he's actually catching the friggin ball and can move a bit. Ivory should be running more than Shady, not because Shady has lost a step--I don't think he has and I'm not about to get rid of him--but because our OL sucks and Ivory is a strong and decisive runner. Benjamin did a little something... along with a little something stupid. I wish Allen were healthy. I want him to play and take his lumps and learn. With him playing, I'd be okay with the Ls. Last night was almost typical Bills vs Patriots formula... Bills stay close enough for 2 or 3 quarters to be competitive; often through unconventional methods. Final score is lopsided. Now Peterman starts. I'm more worried for Peterman the person than Bills fans getting an L. Every remaining game--except the Patriots in Foxboro--is actually winnable... even for this team. This sucks. But I'm still rooting for this team. I just wish they'd give us something to root for. And I want Allen back. -
I agree. Look, I am absolutely rooting for the kid, and I was incredibly happy for him when he threw that TD pass in the Texans game. I hoped that would ultimately be enough and we could eek out a W before the "real Peterman" showed up. We all know what happened. Peterman's a mirage. He always was. But evidently he's a mirage that manifests itself well enough to trick an entire organization on multiple occasions into sticking with him and then going back to him again and again. So, either the real Pick-Six-Peterman shows up and we're on our way to a top pick in the draft, or the mirage that manifested itself consistently for McBeane finally does so in a regular season game long enough to give us a little hope this season awaiting Allen's return. I'm expecting the former, hoping for the latter.

Anderson has been on the team barely 3 weeks. If you watched his last 2 games and aren't just looking at stats, you can tell Anderson is already better than Peterman in those 3 weeks and he could still improve as he gets more comfortable. This isn't saying Anderson is great. But I'd bet you we'd go 4-4 in the 2nd half of the season if Anderson started the rest of the way. Let's all remember, Buffalo had the most difficult schedule in the NFL for the first 8 games and our upcoming 8 games poses the easiest schedule. We've managed 2 wins... which is almost impressive given our offensive ineptitude. If Anderson remained the starter, we'd end up in that 6-10 / 7-9 purgatory we Bills fans have grown accustomed to. Peterman is such a friggin dumpster fire he will be significantly more likely to lead us to the top of the draft than Anderson.

QB Kyle Allen worked out for Bills

Kewel... isn't this the same guy who trained with Jordan Palmer over the offseason with Darnold and Allen??? Bring him in!!! -
Trade Kyle to the Saints

True, but if there's risk of making his current injury worse because it's not fully healed--which is how it currently sounds--he shouldn't. We've already won 2 games and if you're watching the games, Anderson will figure things out and winning at least a few more unless McDermott blatantly tanks. Pay attention!!!
