I like what I'm seeing out of the defense so far. They aren't playing consistently well, but they have been playing situationally well. They also aren't trotting out the same tired scheme for the last 7 years hoping it'll work this time. They're blitzing the most I've ever seen from them, they're running 4-3 alignments, and they're simulating lots of pressure. They need to be more consistent in pass rush and they need to prevent chunk running plays. Hopefully they can figure that out. I give them more praise than heat thus far and I give them a ton of props for trying something that's capable of having success in January and February.

Is Hawes in the process of surpassing Knox as TE2??

Allen has an awful lot of "Best Friends" for a dude. Matt Barkley, Dawson Knox, Tanner Gentry, etc. Pick one, my man. -

BullBuchanan replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
To me, Hawes looks like the most complete TE on the roster and just might be the best of the bunch over the long haul. I think he's already better than Knox, and given more opportunities, he might be able to move Kincaid to more of a niche role. -

Add DHop and Trent Williams above Allen and Jackson. -
Ravens at Chiefs - who do you want to have their third loss?
BullBuchanan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ravens look done. The injuries will be a big hurdle to overcome. KC had a get-right game at the perfect time and the chargers faceplanted. Buffalo will need to keep getting better. -
Bad Bunny will be the Super Bowl halftime act

The Killers haven't been relevant in like 20 years. Man, people this out of touch with popular music should really sit this one out. -

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
BullBuchanan replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
And in the year he won with Denver he wasn't anywhere near career high. In fact both career years for Brady and Manning ended without SB wins. A good running game and solid defense have been more critical than top of the top QB play for most SB winners in recent past and the data backs it up. If you're asking Allen to put the cape on more than a handful of times, you probably don't have a championship team. -

Was what I wrote that complicated that you had to respond with a completely unrelated fun-fact? Tom Brady did not throw more than 28 TDs in any year that he won a Super Bowl. -

It's what you do when you want to win championships. Brady and Manning didn't win SBs airing it out. They won SBs handing it off, and reliably making the handful of plays they needed to when it mattered. Championship football looks like boring football. -
It must have been on 1 of his 4 attempts over 50 yards last year. You really showed me. The last full season Prater played, he had 12.
-
Prater is a huge upgrade. McD shies away from 50 yard kicks with Bass. Prater can nail it from 60. He gives us something Bass doesn't. It just might be the difference in winning a big game.

Are we? Rookies having big impacts is rare. There's a handful every year that have year 1 breakouts. It's the exception, not the rule. He was the 6th DT taken, Give him a year or even two.

Seems like a long shot, but it would be great if the bills could cover here. -
Christian Benford injured vs Miami from Rapp
BullBuchanan replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cut Rapp immediately. -
On Cook's run he has a clean cutback lane to to the right and the blocker come in the clean up the defender. On Davis's run, the defender is unblocked and there is no cutback lane because the right side of the line has collapsed. Cook made an incredible move on the second level that isn't in Davis' arsenal, but the difference between getting stopped at the line there is more of a story of offensive line play than anything. Torrence failed to get to the second level to take on the blocker on Davis' run, so he's virtually out of the play. On Cook's run, he makes it to the second level to wall off the defender. That's the difference.
