  1. He probably shouldn't have. he was abysmal all night. I would have much rather seen a healthy Knox get his targets.
  2. Just more excuses. That'll get ya a ring I'm sure.
  3. For the Chiefs and the Bills, the regular season is just pre-season. They're holding back their best plays, and players aren't giving it every last ounce they have. It's pretty apparent that playoff football is just a whole different animal, which is true in every sport. Guys run faster, hit harder and lay out for plays they otherwise wouldn't when it's all on the line.
  4. That's the formula for most teams who want to win a ring, and it's what Mahomes does every playoffs. You want to beat the best, you have to be the best.
  5. KC leaked 29 points to us. Is that significantly better? Had we scored at the end of the game, it would have been 32 or 35. Should our defense be held to a higher standard than theirs? The defense had many many flaws last night, BUT They held kelce to 2/19 They held the top two running backs under 4 yards a carry They did not allow a 100 yard receiver. They forced a fumble I don't expect much more of a defense against the best QB and playcaller in the sport.
  6. For vet minimum?
  7. Even if you actually believe that - we lost by 3, so a TD on that drive instead of a punt wins it and a FG takes us to OT. We had 4 drives that failed to produce points while KC only had 3 (excluding the kneeldowns at half/game). It was a big deal.
  8. Mahomes is 17-3 in the playoffs. Josh is 7-6. Any other stat is supplementary.
  9. Didn't ever say that. Try again.
  10. Well enough to win against an average team, sure. Well enough to win against the best team in the sport? No. Not even a little bit. Mahomes was near perfect. If Josh wanted to move on, he needed to be at that level too. I already said it was a total team loss, but Josh can't control that. All he can control is his own play, and this notion that he can't be any better than he is, is false. He didn't look like an MVP out there last night. If he played an MVP game, that would've done the job. The defense, for all of their warts, did hold Kelce to 19 yards of two catches, and stifled KC's running game until the very end. We needed a play from someone - could have been Kincaid, Johnson, Cook, but there's no one better equipped to deliver one than Allen. Unfortunately, he didn't have it when we needed it either.
  11. When is this going to stop? It's patently false. Mahomes outplayed Allen AGAIN yesterday,a nd he looked cool as a cucumber doing it. The game has never been too big for him - not once. Mahomes is in a tier of 1 right now and in a tier of 2 all-time. It's him and Brady - that's it.
  12. Josh had a bad night from the opening drive and never really looked like himself, but it was a complete team loss. The playcalling and strategy was poor - completely abandoning the run that got us here Josh was rattled/rushed a lot of the game making poor decisions/executing poorly despite walking away with a clean sheet on the night. The offensive line was terrible The defensive line had a few big plays int he passing game and did well against the run for portions of the game, but they weren't consistent enough The secondary was a disaster, constantly taking poor angles to ball carriers. Elam in particular was a nightmare. I don't know if he's a redeemable player, but he surely isn't as a bill. Jackson should have played over Bishop.
  13. They didn't have to be to beat the Texans. They were in command of the game the entire time. When they needed to get the plays to close it out, they did - like they always do.
  14. He's 28... If you want to beat them, what alternative do you have? They're no worse than the 2nd most dominant dynasty in the history of the sport. They're flawless when it matters.
  15. Hard pass.
  16. calling football fixed is the laziest take anyone could possibly have. First of all, no it isn't. The Bills largely deserved the penalties they got just as much as KC deserved theirs. Second of all, Fixing pro football would be impossible. Third of all, if they were going to fix the game, why go with the Chiefs when the Bills upset would be far more beneficial to everyone in the league. The premise of parity is what's vaulted the NFL to the most profitable league in the nation. Ask Josh if he thinks the game was rigged, or if he and a bunch of his teammates absolutely sucked out there tonight. I bet I know which answer he'd go with.
  17. Nope. Watching the two most insufferable fanbases in the NFL battle it out? Doing nothing would be a better use of time.
  18. The refs has nothing to do with the outcome today. We had every opportunity to win, and predictably choked.
  19. Sure, let's do it.
  20. Outcoached on both sides of the ball, Allen was rattled too much of the game and missed too many throws, and our secondary was taking terrible angles all night. I didn't expect us to be here a few months ago, but watching them gift-wrap this game for KC was painful. Chance after chance and not a one of them could find a way to rise to the occasion. Are we ever going to have a real discussion that maybe this group has peaked?
  21. Not sure if you noticed, but on non-blitzing plays most of the D-line was trying to contain. It seems they rarely had more than 1 of the 4 push Lamar while the rest held their gaps so he couldn't run free. For what it's worth, it worked very well too.
  22. Why would I be upset losing to one of the greatest dynasties in the history of the sport? You aren't supposed to beat these teams, especially in their home stadium. Put the shoe on the other foot. If you're a Chiefs fan, how would you feel losing to the Bills - a team without a 1st team All pro player, a 1000 yard receiver, a 4000 yard passer, and a defense with a double-digit sacker or anyone with more than 2 INTs, in your own house. The Chiefs should expect to win this game by any metric, the Bills shouldn't.
  23. I'm also extremely pleased with the team's performance this year. Win or lose, I was very encouraged by the way the team was prepared last week against a more talented Ravens team and was extremely pleased to see that they didn't play down tot he Broncos' level the week prior. I've been a vocal critic of McDermott since the day he was hired, but this season has been, by far, his best. He still had some bad looks in the regular season, but it's the first time I've ever seen his staff outcoach people. Earlier int he season, I gave the Bills a 5% chance to win the Super Bowl. I think that number is considerably higher now. I don't think they're favorites, but I can see an argument where they have as good a shot as anyone, because of how they're prepared and how they're executing. I think we are a better team than the Chiefs, but I don't "expect" us to win, nor will I be particular upset if we don't. However, the perfect scenario may have presented itself to us to actually win the whole damn thing this year, so I'll be on the edge of my seat.
  24. Yes, it's technically true, but it's pedantic to belabor it. Yes, clearly everyone knows that Lamar is not defending Josh's passes, but the QB vs QB thing isn't all that different to describing individual games like Golf, Darts, Bowling etc. Phil Mickelson wasn't roleplaying as a sandtrap when he faced off against Tiger Woods, but he still played againt him, even if the game was really just playing against the course. Yes, it's absolutely a team game, but these guys understand the reality. Josh sees what Lamar is doing when he plays and if he scores a TD, he knows he has to go out there and score blow for blow. I think it matters more than a little.
