Did we do enough? I think we are getting there.
BullBuchanan replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whether or not we win a Super Bowl will have little to do with the play of our O-line. O-line helps keep a QB healthy and they help runt he clock, but winning teams have been scheming around sub-par line play for a long time. -
Pats give DeVante Parker a Big Extension
BullBuchanan replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they had so much money to piss away why not let him walk and sign D-Hop? -
It tocuhed a nerve with me because you took the completely wrong message away form the article. You said "The only gripe about the article is that it never answered the question we all were asking - what kind of drugs was Zay Jones on?" We're very clearly NOT all asking that question, and if you're asking it, you don't need the answer. And in case that wasn't clear enough, there is a chasm of distinction between having drugs in your system ona given day and being a "crackhead" or "methhead" as was implied with Jones. People from all walks of life take recreational drugs, from the homeless to Billionaire CEOs. Labeling someone as an addict based on extremely limited information is an actual problem, unlike you demanding to know what drugs a stranger may or may not have ingested once upon a time.

Not if you mind your own business. His past is his, not yours. You aren't entitled to know any of it. Pray tell, how does this impact you in the slightest?

Except it's not an issue at all. Not even a little bit.

Who is asking that and why does it matter in the least? The only people that care about that are tabloid readers. It's completely meaningless to everyone else, and frankly none of our business.

McDermott & Beane Extended Through 2027
BullBuchanan replied to BritBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Both Ryan Grigson and Jon Robinson were fired the same season they signed massive extensions. This means nothing as to whether or not either of McBeane are here come April 2024. The league has over $800M of dead salary on the books for fired coaches and execs. -
What are some good, easy meals my wife can’t screw up?
BullBuchanan replied to Einstein's topic in Off the Wall
90% of cooking well is understanding the balance between salt, acid, fat, and heat. If you can saute garlic & onion, that will make any dish magical. Then use salt and fresh cracked black pepper on a protein of choice and just cook it to a proper temperature. Most people overcook the ***** out of their food, so cook it less - especially vegetables and especially lean proteins like chicken breast and pork chops. A chicken thigh with just salt and pepper cooked in a pan should be mouth wateringly delicious on its own, you just need to know how to get good results. If steak and broccoli is bland, it's probably because you didn't season the meat well enough and you boiled broccoli. Try roasting some fresh broccoli in oil salt and pepper at 450 for a few minutes until it starts to brown and crisp up and tell me that's bland. Technique is everything. Recipes are really the end of the line. If you can't make chicken taste great on its own, that's something to fix first. I recommend getting a good understanding of the maillard reaction and pasteurization temps for meat to make sure you cook your lean proteins to the lowest proper temperature. For meats high in collagen like chicken thigh, brisket, chuck steak, you have to cook those to 185 or above to break that down to have the meat be as moist as possible. Of course, you didn't ask for that, so here are some great easy recipes that are staples around here: This homemade tomato sauce pasta is can't miss. We like to use fresh campari tomatoes or you can do the same technique with san marzano tomatoes. Because the dish is so simple it's worth using the best tomatoes you can get. I'll often add sauteed shrimp This scampi recipe from Gordon is also fantastic and dead easy: 100% make the sauce on this chicken from Sam the cooking guy: Tacos are a very easy meal to make with any protein and here's a great salsa: -
The guy still had 12 TDs last year in a complimentary role. He's not a top 5 back anymore, but you could do far, far worse than him as a cheap #2.

Detroit-unveils new Helmet in honor of their 90th season

I don't hate the scheme but it looks like they just stretched the lion in ms paint. -
you're hilariously incorrect in your assumption of my profession and level - by about 10 fold.

And it's also ignoring reality when people say things like "if he did it why wasn't he charged?" when we have a long, long history in this country of a failure to prosecute and convict sex criminals in this country. Unprocessed rape kits, shoddy police work, DA backlogs, celebrity/institutional cover ups, etc are all relevant here. A lot of common folk get upset whenever someone's past gets dredged up in allegations. We hear things like "Why didn't she come out 20 years ago if that's true?" but then we see examples like Cosby, Weinstein, and Masterson, where people did come out decades before - they were just ignored. Eventually people relent in those cases because it becomes clear that they're actual monsters and no one wants to be a stan for a serial predator. If they avoid prosecution or are found not guilty for whatever reason though, the tide immediately shifts to victim blaming. See Araiza and even Watson to an extent. There is clearly a public bias to label women as liars, gold-diggers, and whores in these cases. It's a pretty extreme mountain to climb for women who suffer physical and/or sexual assault to get justice. I don't understand why it isn't a mainstream opinion that this is a major problem. Punt God gets to go live his life now, and even that's not enough for some people. Because he wasn't prosecuted, some people feel he's entitled to more - and so does he apparently.

Yes, it typically on adults to know whether or not they're having sexual relations with high schoolers. if you can't tell that from interacting with a person, you probably shouldn't be having sexual relations with them. I don't have any reason to believe that this was some masterful con on behalf of the girl. If his defense is to be taken at 100%, he left shortly after having sex with her and didn't know her prior. So in the span of an hour or two, met a high schooler, hooked up and left. That all just sounds totally normal to you? You feel like he did a modicum of due diligence to know who he's about to hook up with is or that diligence was no longer required because the "I'm 18" is a get out of jail free card? I think he was an opportunist. It only seems like a crusade because of how cavalier everyone is around here about sexual crimes.
-
intelligent response. I should have expected it. This place has a very lax attitude when it comes to sexual relations with minors it seems. It's more than a little concerning. I guess I shouldn't be surprised based on the other takes around here, but I still am. I thought this was an issue with a lot of common ground, but I guess it's "political" now.
-
Is this a serious question? Because he's 22 and she's 17. Where does your gag reflex kick in? Is 18 and 13 cool to you? 19 and 14? 20 and 15?
-
Yup. That's the defense, and it seems to have worked. I don't need it explained to me. I'm well aware of the details of the case. He's not going to be held legally liable, but he still did it.
-
Again, that point is not relevant to statutory rape. She was a minor and he is an adult. That's what matters. It can be consensual, and still be statutory rape. I'm looking forward to all the shocked faces if it comes out this dude is a serial predator in 10-20 years.

Bills promote Eric Washington to assistant head coach
BullBuchanan replied to elroy16's topic in The Stadium Wall
Promoting a guy who's in charge of the unit with maybe the worst ROI in the entire league. Despite 4 top 60 picks, including a top 10, numerous high end FA signings, and a league high expenditure, DL continues to be a weakness of this team that needs constant addressing. Washington should have been fired a long time ago. Working for McDermott seems like a pretty sweet gig. Once you're in, you're in - Except for that safeties coach I guess. -
Speaking of media, here's exhibit A of a lazy, bad trend.
BullBuchanan replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like it's you with the reading comprehension problem, my dear. Your backstory about the the issue isn't really an opinion. There's not much there to agree with or disagree with except "serious journalist". Your opinions start in earnest with "Problem 1", "Problem 2", "The real problem", and your "this is fine" assertion that this is all a major problem. When it comes to problems in journalism, this isn't in the top 10. -
Um, consent has no bearing on statutory rape.
-
I'm sure cops spending nine months to process a report had no bearing on the quality of the case presented to the prosecution, nor was their insistence that the school not investigate and the schools decision to comply with that request. Oh, and lest we forget that over 94% of incidents involving sexual assault in this country actually lead to even an arrest. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/10/06/less-than-percent-rapes-lead-felony-convictions-least-percent-victims-face-emotional-physical-consequences/ And of course that's not even bringing up the specter of a billion dollar collegiate sports empire that clearly does no wrong when it comes to incidents of sexual assaults at places like Penn St, Baylor, Tennessee, Florida State, etc. Why oh why wasn't he prosecuted if he was guilty? It took 50 years for Bill Cosby to be prosecuted, 20 years for Danny Masterson, Trump is still on the loose. Fame, money and prestige are a hell of a shield when it comes to sexual assault allegations.

he ***** a kid and admitted to it - may have even given her an STD to boot. Classy dude.

I like unwrapped ribs. I'm not sure what you're cooking on but I just use 2 parts black pepper, 1 part coarse salt, 0.5 parts garlic powder, 0.25 parts chili powder and roll them at 225 until done. I'd start checking via the bend test around 195 internal. Once they're completely done, you can sauce if you like, and then let that bake in for 20-30 minutes. I thin my sauce with a little apple juice to a glaze consistency. If you're going to wrap, you want to wait until your bark is completely set. before wrapping and again, start checking them around 195. When i do wrap, I use paper so they don't get too wet. When they're done, I let them dry on the rack for 20 minutes. The temp will drop significantly due to the moisture so no need to worry about overcooking.
