  1. Of course. This has the potential to be one of the greatest games ever. You have the two best active coaches in the league squaring off. KC has the best 2 players in football, and San Francisco has a juggernaut team all around. Can Mahomes and Kelce do it again against one of the strongest rosters in the salary cap era? I'm a football fan before I'm a Bills fan. If I only watched football when the Bills had a shot at a championship, I wouldn't have seen very many games the last 30 years.
  2. Why would Mahomes be on the list? He had less yards than every QB above him besides Jackson, a worse passer rating than Dak and Purdy, a worse INT ratio than Dak. Lamar and Purdy, less TDs than Dak, Purdy and Josh. Dak had a monster season and led the league in passing TDs, was 2nd to Purdy in Passer Rating and QBR, led the league in completion percentage, tied for 3rd in INT ratio behind Stroud and Pickett.
  3. Who out there thinks MVS, Hardman, CEH, and Toney are special? Toney and Hardman outright lost them games as reserve players as did MVS. CEH had 17 receptions for 188/1TD. Rashee Rice had a gr3eat year as a rookie, but drafted after Kincaid. If the Bills wanted him, they could have had him. Shakir had a similarly impressive year on a lot less targets. Pacheco is a good not great RB who isn't a major passing game factor either at 44/244/2 compared to Cook's 44/445/4.
  4. How many more weapons does he need? He had Diggs, Shakir, Kincaid, Cook, and even Knox. Who did Mahomes have besides Kelce? There aren't many teams that have more passing weapons than us.
  5. Like it or not Jackson has 2 MVPs, which should put him at the top of the group. Now, I still don't think he's an elite passer, which keeps him in line with those that are, but there's no credible argument to put Allen above hima t this point. The only limited argument you'd have for Burrow is 1 Sb appearance, and I'm not sure that does it either.
  6. Any of them. I think Mahomes is the most talented QB in history. Not mad at him for cementing his legacy. Not a Goff fan, but winning a Super Bowl would be more important for the city of Detroit than other other place in the country. Brock Purdy as a former Mr irrelevant turned instant elite-QB is one of the coolest football stories in my lifetime. Lamar Jackson already lost, but would have been cool for him to prove the naysayers (including me) wrong. Maybe next year.
  7. Tier S - Mahomes Tier A - Burrow, Allen, Herbert, Jackson, Stroud Tier B - Hurts, Purdy, Stafford, Prescott, Tua, After that it doesn't really matter. There are some players that have had good seasons like Goff, Love, Mayfield, etc but they would probbaly take anyone above them if they could.
  8. I don't know why you guys insist on arguing about things on the internet without even looking up the definition of the things you're arguing about. It's a different measurement. That said, I'd rather debate the bad decision to throw the ball there in the first place. Maybe I should be grateful that that he didn't complete the throw, because had he made it,we would have had to hear the ridiculous argument that it was defense's fault that we lost because "he left the field with the lead".
  9. Take that up with the guys putting together the stats. There isn't a definition there of time to throw, so you can't argue that it's wrong or not. Given that the data is wildly different, It would make sense that their measurement is different.
  10. And josh TOOK 2.69 Seconds to throw, which on average is longer than all but 3 QBs in the NFL. It was a bad throw, but a worse decision. He should have hit Diggs or Kincaid underneath and ran out the clock. Instead, Hollywood Josh took over and lost the game.
  11. What point are you trying to make here that isn't the same point I made?
  12. Incorrect. You could have at least tried.
  13. Which is a lot of time. Only Lamar Jackson(2.7), Russel Wilson(2.7) and Justin Fields(2.8) had more to to throw on average this season. No excuse to not make the throw. https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-qb.php
  14. The least surprising announcement in Buffalo sports history.
  15. Of course, to make this statement, you have to ignore that Allen had a lifetime to see Jones coming as he stood there motionless in the pocket instead of taking a half step forward or to the right. If you want to claim that he only missed because he was interfered with, then he should have done the bare minimum to not be interfered with. We all know he's capable of it. We shouldn't accept it as a legitimate excuse.
  16. I don't speak for the folks saying that, but do you think it might have something more to do with drilling the ball in the dirt rather than picking the wrong WR?
  17. I'm not sure what you think I need to "talk myself out of". My comment wasn't a dunk on Josh Allen, but rather saying that if you give Patrick Mahomes the ball there with 1:45 left in the game, he's all but guaranteed to win the game. Since you asked for it to be explained to you though, I'll help you out. First of all, Mahomes has 21 GWD (including 5 postseason)to Allen's 19 GWD(including 0 postseason). Second of all, counting total GWD or 4QC is completely meaningless and is what we call a "vanity metric". In order for it to be valuable, you need to count the percentage of successes vs total opportunities. When you do that, Mahomes is .543 through his first 100 games (only measure of opportunities I could find) which placed him 2nd all time to Tom Brady's insane .570. Let me know if you need anything else cleared up. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/comeback.cgi?player=MahoPa00 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/comeback.cgi?player=AlleJo02 https://www.365scores.com/news/patrick-mahomes-through-100-starts-the-best-quarterback-ever
  18. Then throw to Kincaid who was also open for the 1st. Allen is a great player. If you wan to call him elite within the current players of the NFL, I can be on board with that. Mahomes is on a different level with guys like Brady and Manning though. Josh is still far away from that. if you don't, you take it to overtime.
  19. Because I've watched Patrick Mahomes for 6 years and that's what he does. I also watched what he did to our defense. It gave you a slim chance for a win - much better than kicking a tying field goal there with the same time left, which IMO was a guaranteed loss.
  20. Only losers think and play like that. Put KC in our shoes and they run the clock down to nothing and win as football 101 strategy dictates you should. It's not like Josh doesn't have a career's worth of these mental mistakes already to look back on. I know it would have been nice to say we had the lead and blame the defense when they couldn't hold. But we all should know based on how they played that they wouldn't hold. KC had one punt all game. The offense was our strength, like it or not. That's what you bet on. watch the play again. He didn't get hit until after the ball was gone. That's an extremely common ask that any championship coach would ask of his QB. This isn't the 80s or even the 90s anymore. If you want to be called elite, you have to be able to score at will in the redzone.
  21. lol, no it wasn't. Josh scores a TD there and we lose. Mahomes beat us with 13 seconds and a far stronger defense. He would have had a 1:45 and a pile of timeouts. There would just be a different person to blame. The right play there was to wind the clock down as far as possible and get the TD with under 30 seconds or tie it with a FG as time expires
  22. I don't think it's a confidence problem. Allen has tons of confidence. What he lacks is judgement, real-time processing speed, and perhaps even a football IQ. I often feel like Allen is the most athletic guy on the field. I almost never once think he's the smartest - even if maybe he is. Mahomes on the other hand seem to play the game like a modern Manning or Brady. He seems to know exactly what's going on all the time, even if he doesn't necessarily. Maybe it's just poise. Allen can get ice in his veins as he stands in the pocket during a two minute drill and shreds a defense, but he doesn't have that calm about him that I see in the best of the best and I attribute that to being able to see everything and know exactly what's going to happen - as opposed to just confidence.
  23. "Anecdotal based on nothing"? Son, I put out cold hard stats out there that you're blindly choosing to ignore. Andy Reid has one of, if not the most the most impressive coaching resumes in history. Are you Alex Smith?
  24. Stop it. Andy Reid dragged Donovan McNabb to 5 straight Conference Championships and a Super Bowl. He turned an Alex Smith led Chiefs team into a powerhouse and perennial playoff team. If Andy Reid coaches long enough, which he probably won't, Mahomes could give him a legitimate claim to the greatest coach of all time.
  25. Allen would have won Super Bowls and probably an MVP, but he wouldn't have come close to what Mahomes is done. Physically, they're pretty much equal. Mentally, Mahomes has a significant edge. Mahomes and the Bills would have beaten Allen and the Chiefs last week, and he definitely beats the Bengals last year.
