Apparently Vegas doesn't agree the Bills are done...
LABILLBACKER replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ever since watching the infamous NE wind game I realized this Bills team was not built to win in their own weather. That includes wind, rain and snow. We just don't play and Josh doesn't throw like it's an advantage. I was praying for a dome regardless of how butt hurt the hard cores would feel. And obviously that ship has sailed. The coordinators are a major problem. Events like 13 seconds and 3rd & 4 usually gets someone fired. I think the clock is ticking on Leslie as Holcomb being hired. If you bend something long enough eventually it breaks. And Dorsey definitely looked like a "deer in the headlights" with multiple wrs in the same area, no hot reads and too many bombs. Diggs telling Josh to stop listening to him is pretty concerning. This is Sean's team. He's the CEO. He hired or promoted these guys. He's responsible for fixing this. -
Trevon Diggs trying to get his brother in Dallas
LABILLBACKER replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is something you gotta consider. I love the chemistry Josh has with Stef but we all saw the confrontation. Love to keep Diggs thru his contract and somehow land Quentin Johnston. Diggs just needs to calm down and prepare for this fall. And Dorsey must Re-evaluate his offense. If not I'll be slamming down his headset. -
Daboll/Hodgins - Does their success bother you?
LABILLBACKER replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just wish we could hit on picks like KC does. I have no control over coaching and I know Andy will always outcoach Sean in a playoff game. We just have to stop drafting decent players like Hodgins & Teller, only to allow them to move on. -

I never understood it. What was this obsession with guys like Kumerow or Gentry. Why did we allow Hodgins to get poached while we kinda panic returning Bease & Smoke. Shakir is hardly allowed to develop? So many odd decisions. -
Yeah, you gotta take him if he falls. He's supposed to be gone mid 1st. Singletary is out the door anyway. This would pivot us into taking WR @ 59. Then pray there's a couple good olineman in the next 2 picks. RB, WR, OL, OL...yes please.

I totally agree. There's still plenty of time for this organization to make improvements to the offense. Plenty of time for the defensive coaches to adjust philosophy. Plenty of time for Ken to actually create an offensive identity. Plenty of time for Brandon to have a great off-season. Stop expecting Josh to do it all and do the right thing. We're not done nor is anyone panicking but it would be naive to believe we don't have reason for concern. -

Great post Alphadawg. Somebody who discusses issues with common sense. How refreshing. Nobody says we're done. With Josh running around making ridiculous plays we're pretty much guaranteed 10 wins every year. The problem lies how do we get to that next level. We need better coaching. We need better GM decisions. We need healthy players. We need a season where the world isn't crashing down on the team in 10 different ways. We need luck. We're not done but we're hardly the SB favorites. -
How do the Bills win the Super Bowl next year?
LABILLBACKER replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with everything you proposed. Getting McB to agree will be a completely different challenge altogether. -

....along with that Vegas recently received an authentication code guaranteeing Gabe never drops a pass again. -

That's a ton of people Sean has to baptise in church. May be too daunting. -

Winning a SB is kinda pointless until McBeane realizes Josh is their only path to the SB. Do what these knuckleheads should've done 3 years ago and find him a competent OL, WR2 and a consistent RB under 4.50. Stop drafting failed defensive players. -
He probably got tired of watching Dorsey call go routes all day. This doesn't help.

Odds don't mean crap. Power rankings don't mean crap. DVOA is worthless. These guys get it wrong every year. Reality called and they said we haven't been to a SB in 30 years. These clown coaches will find a way of screwing up Josh. -
I have no doubt he makes the roster and returns to his backup position. If it was Commodio Cordis then the odds of it happening again are 1 in a million.

NFL Honors award winners (Daboll is COTY, Mahomes is MVP)
LABILLBACKER replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mahomes has a better offensive support system including Reid than Josh does. All Josh has is Diggs. -
This is the response I should've had instead of my initial rant that Richard Noggin accurately called me on. Hopefully this guy has enough of a relationship with McD to transition out of Frazier's conservative scheme.

Khalil Shakir / answer for WR 2 / Makes Sports Illustrated
LABILLBACKER replied to Figster's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopefully Quentin Johnston is our #2. It shouldn't take Shakir long to be slot WR3. And Gabe will just have to transition to #4. -
How does the majority of the Mafia feel 2022?
LABILLBACKER replied to Flipnmi's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes disappointed but when Von went down I felt the team just couldn't stay motivated. Especially with the ridiculous crazy year it was. After waiting 17+ years to finally find a savior qb, we still have organizational issues. With a good draft & FA and less drama we should be able to reset. But the schedule is brutal. -
I think most fans just want a dynamic "wow" offensive playmaker at 27. Whether it be guys like Bijan or Quentin falling, who knows? We can still land great OL value in the 2nd & 3rd rounds. The first 3 picks need to be dedicated to Josh.
-
I hope we draft a wr in either the 1st or 2nd pick. I've seen Johnston play and he should (?) be a good playmaker. I also like Rice in the 2nd. Quentin is projected to run ~4.40 and Rice ~ 4.45. Obviously these numbers will change at the combine.

The only thing that got burned down were our expectations.
