3 Seasons McDermott Offense averages 18.5 points per game. Tyrod Taylor, Nate Peterman, Matt Barkley, Josh Allen, the other guys... Doesn’t matter who, usually ends up being the same outcome... 1-2 Touchdowns 1-2 Field Goals per game. And hope the defense holds. one constant? Coach McDermott and his philosophy. So...

Upon review of the play... Allen last eye checks with Knox while Allen is on the run an at roughly 30-31 yard line. Allen then is hit, does a 360 and laterals at the 48-49. So...roughly 20 yards after last seeing Knox, Allen assumes Knox is anywhere near him? Just doesn’t add up that this was anyway a plan.

How to Define a Franchise QB in Today's NFL
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. I would say Allen is/will be Buffalo’s Franchise QB. Unfortunately, neither Allen or McDermotts Defenses are very good against other teams Franchise QBs. 2018 - 2-4 Record (Wins against Cousins, Stafford. Loses against Rivers, Rodgers, Darnold, Brady) 2019 - 2-6 Record (Wins against Darnold, Prescott. Loses against Brady, Wentz, Mayfield, Jackson, Brady, Watson) So that’s a beautiful 4-10. Which basically has me seeing the Bills as being a team in the very “ordinary” or “average” level of the league. they have enough accumulated high end talent to win games against the average to below...but struggle or downright fail against teams that have their **** together. so Basically Allen and Coach McDermott are trending to being the next Matthew Stafford/Detroit Lions or Chicago Bears. Two franchise who are linked strongly to only beating bad teams or benefiting from very soft schedules. but as long as you captizalize on your soft schedule, which you should get every 2 or 3 seasons (thank you parity) you can stick around. Which is why Stafford is still in Detroit and why Allen and McDermott will be in Buffalo. -
So now what team are you rooting for?
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to BuffaloButt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are some things to root for with each team. Especially like to see Brees or Rodgers get that second ring. Brees doesn’t catch nearly as much heat for only 1 ring, but his playing career has less time (most likely) than Rodgers. -
That was the strong narrative going into the Eagles game. Would Buffalo rise up and beat a team with actual talent and something on the line? No, they didn’t. and then for some reason that narrative seemed to die down. I think it was mostly folks just didn’t want to seem like wet blankets and spoil a ride that a large portion of this fan base has never been on. But then it all vanished after Dallas. If you viewed on the broadcast tonight, they put buffalos BIG WINS as Dallas and Pittsburgh...both 8-8 clubs and one with a 3rd round QB. they both are IMO.

i do...but for benefit I looked it up. Here you go: Paper-Tiger or Paper Dragon: Webster defines is as a NFL team who is 8-0 against the bottom feeders and bench warmers and 2-6 against Established/Entrenched Starters. Now that’s only ONE definition, but with the internet, I think you can find more. ?

Wins S. Darnold (Established/Entrenched Starter) E. Manning (Benched/Back-Up) Andy Dalton (Benched/Back-Up) M.Mariota (Benched/Back-Up) R. Fitz (Back Up) D. Haskins (Rookie/Back-Up) R. Fitz (Back-Up) B. Allen (Back-Up) D. Prescott (Established/Entrenched Starter) D. Hodges (Back-Up) Loses T. Brady (Established/Entrenched Starter) C. Wentz (Established/Entrenched Starter) B. Mayfield (Established/Entrenched Starter) L. Jackson (Established/Entrenched Starter) T. Brady (Established/Entrenched Starter) D. Watson (Established/Entrenched Starter) 8-0 against the backups or benched 2-6 against the established starters 1 single victory against a team with a winning record. And that was with their now benched and soon to be released QB. Is it possible buffalos meagerness and our football teams ineptness for 20 plus years have made us such love able losers that folks just pull the blinds over their eyes to avoid that this team are Frankly, I could never really understand the hoopla over beating Dallas or Pittsburgh. I just see a team that really has a long way to go when it comes to WINNING (not losing in the final minutes, let’s be clear what really matters) but WINNING against the Real QBs in this league. And Coach McDermotts Offense averaging 19.87 for the season (won’t count JETS Finale) just isn’t my cup of tea. Nor is his Career Offense Average points per game at roughly 18.5 anything to sing songs about. We can beat the dregs of the league...now take the next step PLEASE! ?

Wow! Would Miami management want to risk dropping spots in the Draft...to beat New England. Thats a tough question. Will have to let week 16 play out and see. possibiltiy beating new England wouldn’t hurt Miami at all draft wise. But there are other scenarios where they could miss out on #1 if they beat New England (and Bengals). Fascinting stuff.

looks like Doug Marrone is done in Jville

Well...they did get an AFC Championship appearance out of that Regime. -
You recall the 2nd Dallas drive and Romo saying Dak came off of Witten too soon when he had him open 20 + yards down field. I thought back to that play and said if dak played winning football he makes that and Dallas maybe goes up 14-0. but he didn’t play well at all. His enternal clock was garbage. Still amazes me QBs think they can just sit back there all day.

Denver just needs to give the situation more time and Lock the opportunity to show what he does or does not have. Allen has had 24 games with his game only now starting to settle in. In the Bengals scenario (and maybe all scenarios) I was looking at it as what would that team want going forward. Allen as starter or option to pick a Rookie in 2020. More of an either/or scenario. Allen vs. 2020 Rookie and then going forward from there.

Lol. Whoops. Should have given more detail. Not Trade: Broncos - They have a complete unknown in Drew Lock whose College Scouting Report read like Josh Allen 2.0. So no one (not even them) probably has any idea if he is good or bad. I don’t think they would trade right now. Not Sure: Bengals/Dolphins - with both teams poised to draft top 3...with a few QB prospects to be had, couldn’t say for sure which way they would go. Raiders - Gruden, Gruden, Gruden. Lol. He’s so picking no idea what he would do even if he hates Carr.

No spots changed with the Cheatriots.

It’s an officiating “fail” all around it looks like. Dallas basically started 1st and 11. -

Used to say this a lot on previous message boards. to sum it up... If you have any friends who are hardcore San Antonio Spur fans...best to get their advice OR just not worrying about National Respect. -

Upon some research. Officials did NOT Spot the ball properly on 1st and 10. Video the ball is just inside the 15, when it should have been placed more on the 14. Per YAHOO! SPORTS, Play Log, on 2 and 8 from Dallas 49, Prescott completed a 22 yard pass to Harmon. New England was penalized an additional 15 yards for Roughing the Passer. The pass plus penalty would have put the ball on 14 meaning the first down marker should have been the 4 yard line. Which the official did (although not best timing) move it to so it was correct. -
? AFC Would not Trade - Jets, Ravens, Browns, Texans, Broncos, Chiefs. Would Trade - Patriots, Steelers, Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Chargers. Not Sure - Bengals, Dolphins, Raiders. NFC Would Not Trade - Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Packers, Vikings, Saints, 49ers, Cardinals, Seahawks. Would Trade - Washington, Bears, Buccaneers, Falcons, Panthers, Not Sure - Lions, Rams

Go on the record: The concern-o-meter!
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rest of Season/Making Playoffs - 10% Concerned. Think about yesterday...Bills Offense didn’t score a TD until 3rd Quarter and the game never felt in danger of being lost. THAT is the safety net this defense provides. It cannot be stated enough how much cushion the Defense gives this offense to only average around 2TDs and 1FG a game. So really type of game that is serious in doubt are ones where the opponent jumps out big early and keeps scoring. But who is left that is going to do that? I don’t even think Dallas is going to score that much. Patriots are basically the Bills in style these days. Only the Ravens and that is only 1 game. This seasons schedule has been the gift Bills and the Mafia have been waiting 2 decades for. 10% -
Still worried about the Bills' offense?
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Worried isn’t the right word. The Offense is pretty average (statistically and scoring stats indicate). BUT they do just enough to win based on how incredible the defense is. Its more...intrigued to see what happens if the defense doesn’t give the offense its normal cushion. And believe me it should not go understates how much of cushion this defense gives this offense when it comes on pressure to not have to score. But for THIS season...maybe it never happens. Just maybe thsi defense always keeps teams to 14-20 points or less. we shall see.
