  1. Exactly. They thought they could sneak him through waivers and re sign the next day because he had done nothing up to that point. Joe Schoen and Daboll were familiar and grabbed him. It wasn’t anything to do with evaluation but rather a calculated risk vs releasing another player. It backfired and that happens when you have a deep roster.
  2. Agree. The only perfect solution was playing the game. Otherwise there were going to be “ inequities”. I’d have to think that if the situation had occurred in say, the first week of December the game would have been made up. With just one more week to go, resuming the game would have meant delaying the entire playoff schedule or reworking the format altogether. Those ideas were jettisoned in favor of certain adjustments if a few scenarios came about. They did the least amount of modification possible, but definitely not perfect.
  3. It absolutely was. A lesser block cost the Bills a TD in playoff game vs Houston a few years ago.
  4. Maybe , it seems like a lot of things were considered. In the end the league just wanted to “wash its hands”of the Bills/ Bengals game and deal with it only if certain scenarios came about. Other proposals required a complete rework of the playoff schedule or even format , and those were just creating new problems instead of resolving one. Irrelevant. 3 decades is too far back as the WC format ( and caliber of team) was different. The Bills went 13-3 and would have had the second conference bye in years past. They would not have been playing a Wild Card weekend game. Going back 3 decades is comparing apples to oranges.
  5. Most likely, but the Bills were not awarded the #1 seed even though they actually owned a tiebreaker over KC. Provision for neutral field was only in championship game / playoff game involving two teams that played unequal amount of games. So no neutral field for BUF/ CIN. That may have been different if the records were tied.
  6. Key word is IF. The game never happened and the league wasn’t dealing in what if’s. The records were what they actually were. There was a provision for a potential neutral site AFCC game involving CIN and KC (they played a different number of games ) but that went away when the Chiefs won their final regular season game.
  7. He sure did , I noticed that too… cheap shot artist . Hopefully he gets his comeuppance next Sunday
  8. Oh damn I thought for sure they’d be covering KC
  9. Ravens had em.. lost it on a very dumb goal line play call. You simply can’t execute that play from there. Held Burrow to 17 points
  10. Very tough game happening here ..Instill see the Giants winning a close one
  11. Amazing how many on this board thought Daboll should be replaced . He’s a pretty good OC and looks like a good HC. Dorsey has a lot to learn but the Bills improved in several offensive categories. Crazy when 34 points is a bad day at the office.
  12. This game means nothing next week , whether you win by 3 or 23. This game was close due to turnovers and short fields that resulted Dorsey needs to give Josh some outlets to hit quickly underneath vs blitzes, I’m not sure either of Allen’s INTs were on him, have to take another look.
  13. The change to only 1 bye week has given the #1 seed outsized importance, to be sure. Make no mistake though, if the Bills had been matched up with JAX this board would be full of consternation and worry. No one would be saying they had a ridiculously easy path etc.
  14. I’m just not seeing how it can be considered a gift. I hate the Chiefs, but the record is what it is. As for praise, yeah it’ll be excessive. Just have to tune it out
  15. It’s a shame she’s not NY Governor. I didn’t think it was possible to be worse than Cuomo, yet here we are.
  16. We knew they’d likely get the LAC/ JAX winner: no surprise there. It’s very possible the Bills would have been looking at CIN on the road if the BUF/ CIN had been made up. Would that have been preferable? The Chiefs did win their games so it’s hard to say they didn’t earn it. I’d love for the Bills to have gotten the #1 , but they didn’t make up the game and weren’t going too regardless of the consequences. If they were ok with that then so am I.
  17. It’s just as well I guess… the Chargers showed who they are; choke artists extraordinaire. They’ve got talent, but if they somehow got a lead vs KC they’d surely find a way to blow it. Maybe Jags have a punchers chance as they have a better HC than Staley.
  18. “ bandwagon jumpers” is a term to describe those jumping OFF the bandwagon…. Anyway, Josh Allen is likely the biggest reason for more casual fans liking the Bills in recent times.
  19. Ah, the obligatory Airseven turd drop into the punch bowl of TSW…
  20. Agree. I thought Brown was surprisingly good.at play by play. My expectations were low but if you told me he was the Bills regular radio guy I’d have believed it.
  21. No. If the Bills advance, Ian Eagle will be on the call vs CIN. Nantz / Romo will get the Chiefs. Bingo
