Continuing yards after catch (YAC) mystery
Boatdrinks replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
This appears to be the case. Odd, as McKenzies best game by far as a Bill was @ NE last season. He was a feature in that game plan running crossing patterns all day. You’d think the Bills would do this more regularly but it’s not a part of their offense in general. -
I don’t believe Jim Kelly ever won an NFL MVP award, but maybe I’m mistaken.
-
Bingo. They’re not looking at them or at least not much. It’s not an MVP award anymore, it’s a best QB stats award. Easy as looking at stats, no real leg work or in depth analysis required. As pointed out , Mahomes has played almost every game in ideal conditions. That’s more than enough to account for a couple hundred yards over a season.

Continuing yards after catch (YAC) mystery
Boatdrinks replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I see it as a scheme / design thing. Watching the Chiefs in particular, Mahomes is often throwing to college-open WRs. There’s no a defender within 4-5 yards pretty regularly. They have space to create. The route concepts in the Daboll/ Dorsey offense don’t seem to have the WRs in these open spaces. Josh often chooses to zip the ball into a tight space further downfield than to throw underneath to a guy with more room to roam. Haven’t looked in depth at this but that’s my impression just watching casually. -
Leslie Frazier expected to be "in the mix" for Broncos HC job
Boatdrinks replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hahahaha. Kind of like that , just one that is actually good at coaching. -
SI power rankings has Bills at 1, Eagles 2 Chiefs 3 Bengals 4 . If you don’t like one sites power rankings, look for another. You know that old saying about opinions…

Prime Time Josh vs Sunday 1pm Sugar Rush Josh
Boatdrinks replied to freddyjj's topic in The Stadium Wall
2021 kind of weird year: “ wind game” at home vs NE.. @TEN slip on QB sneak or it’s a likely win. Prime time Josh will show up for this one. -
McD and Frazier are pretty good at coming up with defensive game plans that give them a great chance to win. They’ll be ready. Josh is going to determine if the Bills win this game.
-
Death by a thousand cuts is pretty much the Bills defensive philosophy to a T. Didn’t see that game , but I did see NE had a good chance to win late. That’s about what I expect here. A last team with the ball and some time on the clock wins type deal. Josh will probably be the difference win or lose.
-
Well, blow em out anyway ! Yes the “experts” will always bow to Pat the rat. The Bills will show them in the end. It’ll just make it that much better when Allen hoists the Lombardi. Agree. If not, they’ll be around 7th.

Apprehended ? Lol … no longer amounts to squat in NYS unfortunately. They’ll walk… Sadly that’s due to folks with your mindset.

They’ll hire a young offensive guru type. No issues with Denver D. Their offense is pathetic. -
I’ll think on this after the Super Bowl. Man, we had a LOT of years where we were talking draft in October. This just feels kinda like stores playing Christmas music on Halloween.

Yes , Bills hype was over the top early in the year. The pundits have reverted to their true colors and that’s fine. Agree on SF- they’re my dark horse for the SB in the NFC. The more I see them the more I get the feeling they end up winning the NFC. They are dominant in the trenches and have a super QB friendly offensive system. Fans forget that they won the NFC championship game a few seasons back where Garrapolo hardly passed the ball.
-
Just nuggets for fans to chew on. NFL thrives on hype. It is a business after all. We tend to think of milestones a lot in 5 years , 10 years etc so not that unusual. A record for the first 6 seasons sounds odd. It’ also includes the first years of an NFL players development at a difficult position to transition to from college ball. It probably takes five years to know if your drafted QB is good or it’s time to move on. That’s why there’s a fifth year option for first round picks. Anyway, at the game’s key position it’s a remarkable number to achieve in the first 5 years. That you have to go back to Marino , who had a rookie campaign for the ages says a lot.

Let them Keep doubting Allen and downplaying his abilities. The Bills have beaten the Chiefs at Arrowhead two of the last 3 times we’re a few seconds and some questionable defensive strategy away from winning all 3. Meanwhile the Bengals were down 17-3 at Tampa ( who promptly turned the ball over 4 times in the second half to lose ) and nearly fell to the Patriots on Sunday. Yet those teams are talked up as unstoppable. The anti Bills and anti Allen bias has resurfaced, but I believe that will serve to motivate Josh even more.

3 way tie for conference lead possibility
Boatdrinks replied to ehfeuh57's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get it, it’s a simple play that should be executed cleanly most of the time, but bad snaps do happen. Watching , I was definitely more tense before that play than watching Josh miss a 5 yard pass he should make in his sleep. There’s just no point lamenting each missed play in a loss. Teams lose games and all that matters is the next one. The Bills have a great opportunity and control their own destiny. -
FA crop of RB’s is pretty good this coming offseason. That could keep Singletary’s deal very reasonable so I agree with your assessment. As for Hines I thought his deal was fairly expensive but not sure.

Josh Allen doesn’t like Domed stadium supports open air
Boatdrinks replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, it doesn’t change it. What they want doesn’t matter though. It’s all about money. -
Josh Allen doesn’t like Domed stadium supports open air
Boatdrinks replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
And there is one reason for that, and one reason only : money. Covered stadium costs far more to build so they will build the cheaper stadium. -
Yes , winning two games vs three games is a pretty big advantage. One thing is guaranteed, though ;last years results mean zero to this years results.

Yeah looks like 40% chance of rain at 8 pm. Hope it’s a bit off and we have a dry game.
