    I think the league will lean heavily on the response of the Bills players and coaches in deciding when this game gets played. There’s the rule book, but it kind of goes out the window in an unprecedented situation like this. They’re making decisions on the fly and I applaud the NFL for doing so.

    The Hamlin play looked pretty routine , and while a terrible occurrence it was also a rare one. I don’t think officials will be hyper- vigilant , and players will have varying abilities to block it out and play.

    Interesting … I still do not believe Bills/ Bengals will be resumed. jmo and I could obviously be wrong but I don’t see it happening. If all 3 teams hold serve then - 1 KC 2 BUF 3 CIN

    BB isn’t plotting how to exploit a tragedy. He’s trying to figure out how the hell his team is going to have a chance to win vs Josh Allen. Early forecast is 38 degrees and partly cloudy. Maybe if the Bills rest their starters but I don’t see that happening.

    Conference record not the same. Bengals have 1 more loss currently so if Bills and Bengals hold serve this Sunday Bills finish with superior conference record. This is where the no contest, tie , or resume play comes in

    They should have some news on Hamlin before that. By today or tomorrow( more likely) maybe not

    The team won’t be penalized. If they want to resume the game they’ll be given that option I believe. If they accept an alternative option that is not a penalty.

    Well, that would constitute a forfeit. A forfeit is a decision by the team, not one that is put upon them to be accepted.

    Exactly. Not enough of a game had been played except that it could be resumed. Cannot be an official result

    If I am certain of one thing in all this , it’s that the NFL won’t mind bestowing the # 1 seed upon the Chiefs.

    The NFL and Roger won’t base it on that- they barely know him. The Bills players and coaches decision will absolutely be based on that and their thoughts and feelings about it.

    Couldn’t disagree more. Who is this “higher up” that would make such a call? If you don’t think the Bills would do in this case what the TEAM- i.e the players -wants to do then you just don’t understand the culture that McD and Beane have built at OBD.

    It would be okay if that’s what the TEAM wanted - which may very well be the case. McD would obviously have a good read on this by talking to his players. Perhaps they would decide otherwise and that would be fine too.. if that’s what they wanted to do
