NFL Week # 16 - Bills at Bears - post game thread
Boatdrinks replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The AFC is strong at the top. This is the Bills best record in 31 years. -
Josh Allen doesn’t like Domed stadium supports open air

It’s an advantage , but can only go so far. It can’t make up for not having a decent QB for around 20 years -
Josh Allen AFC Offensive Player of the Week (again)

The media votes for MVP and many of them have their agendas. They also won’t forget the uproar over his “ tweets “ or Facebook or whatever the heck it was pre draft. He will never get his due when it comes to media awards . -
Sean McDermott - master of the saying nothing

Exactly. These cut ins to coaches during the game are silly and pretty much worthless -
Are we really surprised ? Many wanted Jerry Sullivan fired - for the crime of verbally stereotyping the behaviors of a certain subset of fans. The video clip speaks for itself- though we lack details and context. I’m sure many of those same folks would support a guy who just literally pulverized another human being and argue that he doesn’t deserve to lose his job, is misunderstood etc etc. What a &@€!#% up world we live in.

Heard Eric Wood on WGR… he attributed many of the run stopping issues to clever play calling by MIA that broke tendencies. The Bills defense was anticipating certain plays and were in run “ fits” to stop those. When MIA ran different runs out of those looks , the fits were wrong and left guys at bad angles to make the stop. Gave credit to MIA for good self scouting but Bills adjusted ; bulk of Mostert’s yards were in first half.

Probably someone gets moved to IR or something like that.

Coaching , ST strategy and a screw up by Wallace ( no longer on the team) conspired in that debacle. Not a lack of a quality defense. In the end neither D could stop the caliber of Quarterback play that night. Their QB got the ball in OT , otherwise probably a different result. If the Bills face the Chiefs or Bengals in the playoffs ; they won’t be talking about which defense is going to carry the day. They’ll be talking about the QBs.

Josh Allen limited in Tuesday practice
Boatdrinks replied to Joe Ferguson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just managing the elbow through the week. No need to overwork it in practice -
Not huge on nicknames but the best I’ve heard to date are “Cyborg” and “Creature. “

The Bills punching their ticket to the SB was not dependent on their defense the last 2 seasons and it’s not now. Neither was KC’s for that matter. It’s about the QB making a few more plays than the guy on the other sideline , and maybe having the ball last. That’s what happens when there are other top QBs in the conference.

Cool.. Bryant back to PS if he clears , or maybe this is a good sign for J Phillips?

It was January of ‘94 vs … KC Chiefs. Joe Montana and Marcus Allen. Montana was knocked out in first half . Mike Ditka called the Bills “ boring” in the previous weeks postgame show and really heard it from the Buffalo fans . Good times

In short, the teams with the best Quarterbacks - Bills, Chiefs, Bengals - are not overhyped because they can win any game in most any situation. Most NFL games are not blowouts.

Kugler was fine. Sanchez was pretty awful, actually.

Jets chances are now in the 25% range to get in. I agree they are likely toast at this point.
