Bengals still had some fight in BUF at 0-2. They look like they’ve packed it in at this point. Steelers pass rushers are pretty legit.

Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?

It helps when you get away with grounding calls routinely , too. Allen will not be afforded that luxury. Still he’s got more than enough arm strength to throw it into the stands, and needs to do so. -

I agree. He needs to find a balance there. Still figuring things out and it’s a tough lesson for him now. A throwaway is a good play, and a punt is better than a turnover from forcing a pass. Especially with the Bills defense. -

He does, but of course he didn’t know when he would be wrapped up. He thought he could outrun them or break their tackle attempts. If he knew he would get wrapped up he’d probably have decided to slide. -
And they’ve won no games this season.

A turning point in Bills & NFL history - - 9-30-2001

No one, and the rest of the story is the worst thing that has ever happened to the NFL, at least in my lifetime. -
It would look unbearably , mind numbingly stupid , that’s how. Even more than the normal amount. I’m almost glad it didn’t , even though I don’t think it would have changed a thing as far as the actual team goes. There is an idiotic segment of fans ( probably of any team ) that loves backup QBs and prefers less talented players to starters. Seems abnormally high with Buffalo fans though.

They may have done that if he had. He was definitely in the moment. It’s a tough situation for sure, and he still has to learn when to say when. I’d say he’ll likely always err a bit on the side of dangerous, even when he tones it down. -

Ben R also threw very limited passes per game that year. It’s also possible that JA could lead the Bills to a WC berth in his first full season as starter. Lots of football left to go before any decision is made on this guy. Every player is different, and it really doesn’t matter if fans believe in him from the jump. They’re not making the decisions, and that’s probably a very good thing. -

Somewhat concerned, but he’s a big guy and seems pretty sturdy. He’s made a lot of big plays like that and they’re exciting. It’s a fine line, and the NFL doesn’t do a lot to protect QBs that aren’t among the anointed ones.Look at the shots Newton has been subjected to. I get it, but I also love his competitive fire and don’t want that going out of his game. I want him to hate losing, especially to NE. It’s a whole other level of hate for that team. He wasn’t running the whole time with his head down either. -
A sampling of other QB’s early career stats
Boatdrinks replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This babble doesn’t mean squat either, though. The Bills HC and brass will ultimately decide if Allen is their guy , or they will get someone else. Crusading on a message board won’t do a damn thing in this regard. Fans won’t have any part in the decision really. It’s as pointless as stats of other QBs current or past. Doesn’t have a thing to do with Josh Allen or the Bills. -
Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think much of it will be the same regardless of the QB. Neither has a ton of experience. They won’t have to worry about Barkley hurting them outside the pocket or extending plays. The Bills OL had problems in pass pro, and TEN will throw a lot of the stuff that worked for NE at them. -

Hey, I hope you’re right. I want my gut feeling to be absolutely wrong in this case. -

Sliding wasn’t going to get the first down. There’s a time to slide and that wasn’t it. A cheap hit doesn’t mean you don’t fight for a key first down. -

Obviously 4 turnovers a game cannot continue. It will be the end of JA if it does so no use in worrying. He will be replaced if it does. If the Bills HC and GM are ok with his progress, that’s what matters. Winning games matters most. Even with his mistakes, It was very possible that Allen pulls that game out. I didn’t get that sense with Barkley, but that’s just me. Anyway, it’s hardly shocking he had a bad outing vs a BB defense. If you had asked NFL media types if they would be surprised if Allen had his worst game to date in yesterday’s matchup, they invariably would have said “ not at all”. His track record vs young QBs is great. Allen absolutely needs to cut way down on the unforced errors. Throw it away, and live to fight another down. -

Have you listened to sports talk radio, watched NFLN or ESPN ? They are unabashedly gushing over NE on a daily basis. They’re wrong, but they are saying it. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, the guy took zero risks. Not in his game; Allen is just the opposite. Way more common in Kelly - Marino era. Many of the hits they took are no longer legal by rule. There wasn’t a “ strike zone” for QBs and defenders helmets would hit them in the chinstrap. Totally different game then. -
THIS DOESN’ T NEED. ITS OWN THREAD

Just my opinion. This is a fan message board. Don’t have to like or agree with it. -
Well that’s just plain ridiculous. Allen is the Bills QB until he convinces the Bills GM and HC that he shouldn’t be. If that happens, another QB will likely be drafted and the whole thing starts all over again. Nothing to be depressed about. If he’s not any good, they’ll try someone else.

Hurdling on the field goal attempt.

The key part to me is the last sentence of the paragraph. Seems pretty clear. Your mileage may vary, of course. -
Hurdling on the field goal attempt.

Doesn’t matter, according to the rule posted by the OP. The entire paragraph must be read and applied. -

Read the last sentence and maybe you change your mind. It seems pretty obvious. I don’t care if you do or not, it’s just pretty clearly stated in the OPs post. The sentence you highlight isn’t the key phrase here. If I hear from say, Gene Steratore that the meaning is something other than what I see here, I’d believe that. -
Roster question: Who backs up Matt Barkley vs Titans??
Boatdrinks replied to AmishRifle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is Webb on the PS ? I don’t even know. I’d imagine we’ll see a move made Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest if it appears that Allen won’t go .
