  1. One of the dumbest things I’ve ever read from the NYT, and yes that’s saying something.
  2. The Bills run a fundamentally sound defensive scheme and don’t make a lot of errors. They aren’t getting a lot of takeaways at the moment, but it’s not a huge deal. When teams win with takeaway heavy defense, it’s usually considered unsustainable.
  3. Agree on the Bills uniforms. However, I love the Raiders unis too, and the logo is an absolute classic.
  4. Nope, neither. Coaches coach, and players play. The point was a poster stated that how sharp a team plays is mostly on the coaches. I said It isn’t. Can’t be more obvious.
  5. What you described is all part of strategy and game plan. Some plays also are good vs one team, but not so good vs another. I’ve never seen a coach execute a block or catch a pass on the field during an NFL game.
  6. Strategy, game plan etc is on the coaches. Execution is entirely up to the players.
  7. Correct. Still qualifies as “ ever” happening. LAC most recently, as you mentioned.
  8. 2000 Ravens were 2nd place team in AFC central at 12-4. 1999 Titans were 13-3 for 2nd in AFC central as well .
  9. While 12-4 is definitely possible, I still think the Bills go 10-6 - securing a WC berth with a week 17 win at home vs Jets.
  10. Perhaps the spouse loves the Bills as well ? Also , it’s ..ahem....espresso.
  11. Winner of coin toss gets to choose one of two privileges with the loser to be given the other : (a) the opportunity to receive the kickoff or to kick off ( b) the choice of which goal to defend OR they can defer their choice until the second half.
  12. Those actually were problems , though ( xp was too easy, onside too dangerous for players, OT rules meant usu just one offensive possession etc). One fluky outlier dynasty in New England ( caused by one player) when everything the NFL does is set up to prevent it happening doesn’t mean there’s a problem.
  13. Devils Forest Pub on Calle San Marco has NFL games. Could fit the bill...
  14. Good call. Never liked the look, but I’ll try to think of it that way.
  15. From that practice pic it’s looking like the monochrome look for Sunday, blue on blue.
  16. Blue on white please
  17. Bills give the Eagles a hard time ? Weird take. The teams have played twice since 2011 and split the two games.
  18. With the injury to Mahomes they probably think the division is available. It’s unlikely of course, but I’d agree they don’t consider a sell off unless they lose to the Bears on Sunday. 6 losses by October probably does any team in.
  19. With those numbers, I can see the line moving from -1.5 to even out that money.
  20. If they didn’t come out on fire in a division game with first place on the line, I’m not sure the Bills will give them that motivation. While the Bills don’t have the Cowboys roster, they’re capable of beating the Eagles at home. The game will come down to matchups and execution like most do, not some newly discovered inspiration by one team or the other.
  21. At least they haven’t don’t so yet. More evidence is needed before a conclusion is reached. With that in mind, a drafted WR isn’t likely to provide much help until the 2021 season. That’s year 5 of McD and Co. If a good deal can be reached for a proven veteran, the Bills should probably make it.
  22. I’d give him a B- so far. A few questionable calls ( QB sneak on 4th and 2, deep pass on 3rd and 5 ), but mostly good. Bills have moved the ball pretty well , have scoring issues due to penalties, bad QB decisions, a few drops etc. That’s not on Daboll. Last year was tough to evaluate with the lack of talent. Talent this year is upgraded, but far from elite. He’s done better than I expected overall. Bills scoring would be a lot better if they clean up their own errors, so I don’t have much of a problem with Daboll.
  23. And the officials will see to it that TB has time by rarely ( if ever) flagging the Pats* OL for holding , and if that fails they will allow him to ground the ball without penalty.
  24. KB however wasn’t the first target. They were interested in John Brown and that other knucklehead WR from PIT ( name escapes me ) but those deals didn’t materialize. Beane finally made a last minute deal , and referenced that there might be a player’s revolt if he didn’t do something to bolster the team. That offseason saw a lot of player departures and they found themselves in a playoff race anyway, so the deal was made. Didn’t work out, but the cost wasn’t a killer either.
  25. Vikings score a lot of points ( most in the NFC ) and have a QB that is considered good. The Bills don’t score much , win mostly with defense ( not sexy) and have few stars. They just aren’t going to get a lot of love short of beating the Pats.
