  1. Doesn’t happen without DeShaun Watson, so no. Not at all.
  2. It’s simple really. It IS a team game. The offense scores what they are able vs the Pats defense. Whatever that number is, it dictates the job required of the defense. This number will vary from game to game. The defense is then charged with stopping the Pats offense enough times to keep them below that number. The Titans defense accomplished this, the Bills did not. When the Bills needed a stop, they couldn’t get it. The Titans offense was clinging to a one point lead. However , they managed the clock well and left the Pats* with minimal time. It was enough time to get into FG range ( barely ) but only with a couple of big passing plays. They ended any chance with an INT for a TD. NFL games are different every week and matchups change from team to team, but the concept remains the same. The offense can speed up or slow down to vary tempo, keep matchups on the field and burn clock. They can nurse a big lead or rally for a quick score; they dictate the tempo. The defense can not do this. Their only job is to stop the opponent. So credit the Titans defense. They only had a 13 point margin of error all game to achieve victory, and they accomplished their mission. For all the accolades given to the Bills defense this season, they absolutely failed in their biggest tests vs New England and Houston.
  3. While I wanted a Bills win in the worst way, the game did sum up the team’s offensive issues. Maybe a win would have given McD, Beane et al a false sense of security. There is much work to be done still, and the vast majority of effort and $$ must go to surround Allen with offensive skill players. The line must also be addressed if they want to achieve championship caliber. Hugely important offseason coming up.
  4. Need a FA WR too, though. Draft pick will take a little while to contribute. I like the TE thought and absolutely agree. Knox may develop, but a good FA will help in a big way. Josh needs immediate help to get a clear evaluation in his critical 3rd year. Decisions loom after that. A WR trade could materialize. Beane has pursued this road before, and maybe this time it gets done.
  5. I believe the other wildcard games do matter, because we are talking about the playoff field rather than the at-large NFL . Matchups are closer than most in the regular season. So yes, how did the Bills performance stack up relative to the field? It has relevance, and it’s an interesting look as regular season numbers can be inflated by many factors. How do teams do in a win or go home situation vs a good opponent ? It’s not all telling, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
  6. Actually, it’s not if you’re a Bills fan.
  7. Missed opportunities. Yardage on O and D isn’t as important as scoring. Points scored, points allowed and differential are better indicators of overall team performance.
  8. Nope. I just don’t expect it to change much without major changes. They arguably had the least to work with of the playoff teams, save for maybe the Eagles. They need another WR, RB2, RT, etc. A 16 point lead evaporating is a failure on many levels. Looking at the other playoff games, it was around the top numbers. The defense allowed more than any other team. I’d love 30 points, but this team isn’t doing that, and not on the road in the playoffs.
  9. 19th in points allowed, which matters more than yardage. Not elite, but it’s the playoffs on the road with a limited offense. How much better were they going to be than their season average? They had a 16 point lead in 3rd quarter and didn’t close the deal. Lots of blame to go around, but your takes are very tired. That’s where the disappointment was. Yep. They left Ford 1on 1 all night, it seemed.
  10. But the Bills let their lead evaporate and made dubious coaching decisions. Passes were dropped. They lost in the end, so if you hate Allen then he gets the blame. That’s TSW.
  11. Theilen and Rudolph. Would be nice to have ‘em.
  12. Are you sure about that? I recall it being a number in the 30s, not 27.
  13. They need to finish the offensive rebuild. That means RT, WR1, RB 2, maybe TE. The OC could be an issue. As for the D, resign key players and add a pass rusher. Then see what transpires with Allen. It’s going to be a key year for him, so need to give him the tools.
  14. Pretty sure Fred was UDFA. NFL Europa or something. It’s been a long time, but what can you do. Probably Polian era.
  15. This I will disagree with. He’s actually perfect for Allen. Just put it somewhere in his vicinity to go up and get it.
  16. You should dwell on this for the next five years or so at least.
  17. Yeah,it sucks. Other teams have good players. Wish the Bills could pick all of them. May as well go bang your head against a brick wall or something . Or become a Seahawks fan. Your handle says it all.
  18. Milano has been pretty good overall, but you still can’t excuse his whiff on the Watson should have been sack. It was absolutely his fault because he whiffed. It’s the NFL, and where you were drafted only matters during the draft and maybe in your wallet. Other things went wrong, but Milano was a big factor.
  19. Most fans on this board wanted a WR in round 2 or even 3. Many of us wanted Watson a few years ago as well. Are there awards for this kind of stuff or something ?
  20. Fun idea for a thread : Who will have the better draft ? The Buffalo Bills or the rest of the field? See how entertaining this is ?
  21. Wow. They beat Josh McKown . Amazing win for the Seahags.
  22. I know it’s a McKlown, but you have to at least get the throw off there on 4th. No chance it’s caught if you take a sack.
  23. What an awful attempt at a tackle. Man I hate the Seahags
  24. Exactly , and that’s why these redo threads are pointless. And we’d have all taken Brady if we knew in 2000 what we know now. Yippeee Isn’t this fun ?
