Be prepared for the offense and Josh to have a tough day. Belichick is a master at confusing young QBs and their D has been impressive.

Horrible Harry (Harrison Phillips) out for the year...ACL
oldmanfan replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no idea what team you’ve been watching but Phillips has played well. Hate to see this but next man up. Bet Lawson sees time inside. -
We’ll win one we shouldn’t win and lose one we shouldn’t lose like every season. My daughter and I tried to figure out how we could end up worse than10-6 and we couldn’t. Miami and the Jets are three more wins for sure.

Josh Allen - week THREE report card
oldmanfan replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the kid but he had 4 pretty obvious mistakes. The pick was the one that cost him. Throwing the ball back across his body to Sweeney he got away with, throwing to Knox (I think) near the goal line into double coverage while being chased was another mistake, and not getting down earlier in the fumble. He got away with the last 3. He’s making excellent progress and his 4th quarter heroics are great, he just has the smarter sometimes. -
Josh Allen - week THREE report card

Yeah but he made the block for the winning TD. Allen was a B-/C+. Lot of guts that last drive but if he played smarter earlier the last drive would have been moot. -
No one should be trying to diagnose here

I’m glad we have Allen, he is showing he has it in clutch situations. But he has to get rid of the dumb decisions where he relies too much on arm strength. The throw back over the middle to Sweeney- even though completed that kind of pass gets picked off more than completed. Should have had another one picked off down the right side with an ill advised throw. And of course the one pick is the kind of thing you just cannot do. He’s doing well and these comebacks are great to see in a young QB. But as he matures he’ll find that he can put the game away long before needing a comeback.

Dumb playcall but would help if Roberts and Jones blocked somebody -

Love Allen but you cannot make that throw and the throw back over the middle from earlier. -

Just like last week. Matriculate the ball down the field boys. -
Whatever. They pick on the one overthrow to Brown to bring up the tired inaccuracy stuff and ignore the rest of his play. I’m sure they do the same to overrate and underrate other guys.

The point is you can’t cherry pick stats and look credible. Josh Allen is improving, quite a bit actually. But being familiar with his fan club here you should know that any negative stats associated with the kid (the horrid comp%, the ttr, and all the missed reads, etc from the first season) are ignored or explained away. Your words, not mine. Note you mention his “horrid comp%”.

This is a must win game for the Bills.

No it’s not -
Good for them. Now let’s be sure no one else thinks of signing him.

I recall the Winston/Mariotta draft. Was back in the BBMB days. Folks there talked about them each being can’t miss; one guy in particular would have traded an entire draft for Winston. And look what we have now.

Mike Greenberg Flips out about Jets - Get Up
oldmanfan replied to Rochesterfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very funny but I can understand. I can remember back in the late 60’s-early 70’s going into a season knowing we had no chance.
