  1. An d that’s what happens when you throw back into the middle of the field
  2. All good except one thing: let’s get rid of the term Billsy.
  3. I had never understood why one would dilute their wings with blue cheese or ranch
  4. You may want to check back through history on that. It would be interesting to see if that’s truly valid. Don’t care. Not my QB.
  5. The kind of intestinal fortitude Allen has in the fourth quarter can’t be taught. Making throws back towards the middle of the field when scrambling can. And he needs to learn that.
  6. So we have a good D that gave them fits. They have a good D and gave us fits. But for some reason it means our D is good but our O is bad. People around here are unbelievable
  7. He has to get that throw back into the middle out of his head
  8. It is beyond ridiculous to call that penalty
  9. Now will everyone stop with the nonsense?
  10. Both Defenses are playing great. Quit with the crap about our offense
  11. Let’s go boys. Matriculate the ball down the field.
  12. I specifically watched every throw the first two games. I had 2-3 that were truly off target.
  13. Stop the nonsense. I watched every throw he made the first two games and he was off on maybe 2 or 3. He had a bad game last week, got out ahead of his skis a bit in a big moment and his mechanics suffered for it. But the first three games he was fine.
  14. Smart football. No dumb penalties. Josh needs to be the Josh before last week; which reads, ball out on time. And Singletary coming back.
  15. Careful now. I live just outside Indy but of course grew up in WNY. One can only presume the OP is currently suffering from a concussion to put that post together.
  16. At the beginning of the season? Would have been quite happy. As of today? I'd be disappointed because we should have won last Sunday and I think our D should give Mariotta fits on Sunday. Even if we are 3-2 though, we should be optimistic going forward. The supposed tough schedule we have later in the year is looking like it won't be that formidable. The Dolphins are nothing, the finale against the Jets should have them running for the bus by then, the Steelers aren't the Steelers of old, Denver is trash as are the Skins.
  17. Benoit has some good points but he focused on negatives and didn’t mention the positives Allen showed
  18. I don't know if I could fit him into the top 5 to be honest. White, Bednarik, Van Buren have to be in the top 5. Dawkins has to be up there, as does Tommy MacDonald and Norm Van Brocklin. I'd put Peters above guys like Wilbur Montgomery, McCoy, and above Cunningham and McNabb.
  19. So what you’re saying is that it’s not accuracy, on the deep ball, it’s throwing it higher so the receiver can adjust to it. Which is what I said. I also think he’ll be fine in the end zone. More of that is patterns than throws.
  20. Stop it. The pick to Brown where he didn't see McCourty was right there as well. Hit Brown in the hands but McCourty made a good play. I swear this kid just cannot win around here. How many people were screaming when Taylor was here that they'd accept INT,s, that the QB should not be afraid to take shots down the field, that a long pick, is like a punt anyway, and on and on and on. The difference with his long throws this season to me are several fold: one, he is throwing a lot of them while he's scrambling and isn't able to set his mechanics properly; two, he is throwing too late and into coverage when he does, especially when scrambling to the right side, and that is the type of recurrent mistake you have to coach out of him; and three, WRs aren't adjusting well. Take any NFL QB and put him on a field nd have him try to hit a small target from 40 yards away, and they won't be as precise or accurate. Long completions are as much the QB putting the ball in a place where the receiver can make a play, AND the receiver seeing the ball flight and adjusting to that. They need to continue working the short patterns, Josh needs to continue his development in recognizing coverages pre-snap and go where the correct reacd is, some play action perhaps. As those things progress, the deep balls will come.
  21. And there’s been green flags. Why do you insist on accentuating the negative?
  22. Couldn't agree more. One thing I've been wondering this week is if Daboll could go to a scripted approach. Script the first 10 plays or so to start the game; I recall that Bill Walsh did something similar with Montana and Young and that seemed to work out rather well. Scripting so Josh knows exactly what call he's making, where to go with the ball, etc. might be beneficial as he develops.
