  1. Not sure our O line is quick enough to get out in front to block
  2. Schwartz to me is a coordinator who tops out in that role. Hardest thing for owners to figure out is which coordinators can become good HCs.
  3. C. Some games better, some games like yesterday worse. Things I would ask him: 1. Why is Singletary not used more in the first half? 2. Why can't the fourth quarter Josh be the 1st quarter Josh?
  4. I nee to go back and watch some of the earlier games where he came on in the fourth quarters, what plays were called, etc. Seems to me he's much more decisive in those cases.
  5. Do they actually do that? Does he get to throw out plays? Audible? I haven't seen that commented on.
  6. You could have had a two word column this week: They stunk
  7. With the overofficious jerks now, you'll get more penalties. But when you have veteran guys doing dumb things like lining up in the neutral zone, that's just ridiculous.
  8. Depends. If the problem was assignments and gap coverage, you fix that by guys focusing on their assignments. If it's due to guys getting manhandled by the O line (which is my theory) then you either have guys sack up or get new guys.
  9. Yeah, pretty much spot on.
  10. I'm going off watching him and seeing him hit receivers consistently. The last couple drives yesterday were the exception this season and not the rule.
  11. You saying his accuracy hasn't improved is silly. He had a bad game yesterday. The whole team did. Barkley isn't starting anytime soon and you know it. Coming on here day after day saying it won't change that.
  12. Oh, of course the other guys have excuses. You apparently didn’t read my OP. His 4th quarter play tells us he can do it. Free the reins and let him play the first 3 quarters like he does the fourth quarters. Except for yesterday, where he and everybody else in the team stunk.
  13. I think his growth would be enhanced by loosening the reins, but I see your point.
  14. I'm not necessarily talking about running, although it works for Jackson. I'm talking about game management, play calls, etc. I see a kid that in the fourth quarter has been very effective throwing the ball. And I see no reason why that can't translate to the entire game, if they would just loosen the reins. How he has played in the fourth quarter of games tells me that. He'll screw up some calls, sure.
  15. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the offense meeting room. I really wonder what goes on between the coaches and Josh Allen. I'd love to know if, for example, they are asking him what plays he likes in the game plan, what plays he wants thrown out. I'd love to know how much freedom he has in terms of checking to audibles. I say let Josh be Josh. Give him the keys to the car and let him drive. Give him freedom to change plays at the line of scrimmage and so on. If you look at his fourth quarter heroics (before yesterday, which just stunk across the board), Josh has done well. When you do well in the fourth quarter it tells me the QB can make good decisions and good plays, make good reads and throws. Some have commented that he looks tentative the last couple games, and I agree. Let him play football.
  16. You don't think they understand that? Don't be silly. He got hit. He fumbled. It happens whether we like it or not.
  17. The fourth quarter comebacks before yesterday, the highest QB rating in the fourth quarter before yesterday. Those were not "nothing".
  18. I think Moose Johnson said yesterday that only about 5% of throws, if that, are the long throws. Allen has struggled with them but I don't think 1 in 20 throw is affecting the offense that much. I am mystified by two things: 1. Not using Singletary earlier in games 2. Seemingly abandoning the shorter route trees, crossing patterns, using Beasley as the possession guy, etc. That was working early in the year, and we've gotten away from it.
  19. No. I challenge dumb posts when I see them.
  20. DNA is from parents. McD and Beane have different DNA than , say, Buster Ramsey and Harvey Johnson, or any other former HC and GM you'd care to name. Thus, your thesis is ridiculous.
  21. The defense has played well all year. They got handled yesterday. Allen has played well in fourth quarters, but needs to be more consistent. Are there issues? Sure. My first question is why Singletary doesn't see the field in the first half. My second question is what happened to the short passing game that was working well. But to take one bad game yesterday and inflate it into some crap about how they won't win another game and the coach will get fired is just ridiculous and wishful thinking by a guy around here that gnaws on this like some puppy with a chew toy.
  22. The season won't end that way. You're being ridiculous because they had one bad game.
  23. Yeah I looked at the individual plays. Like I said I hope you’reright.
  24. The entire team played poorly yesterday
