  1. I think Moose Johnson said yesterday that only about 5% of throws, if that, are the long throws. Allen has struggled with them but I don't think 1 in 20 throw is affecting the offense that much. I am mystified by two things: 1. Not using Singletary earlier in games 2. Seemingly abandoning the shorter route trees, crossing patterns, using Beasley as the possession guy, etc. That was working early in the year, and we've gotten away from it.
  2. No. I challenge dumb posts when I see them.
  3. DNA is from parents. McD and Beane have different DNA than , say, Buster Ramsey and Harvey Johnson, or any other former HC and GM you'd care to name. Thus, your thesis is ridiculous.
  4. The defense has played well all year. They got handled yesterday. Allen has played well in fourth quarters, but needs to be more consistent. Are there issues? Sure. My first question is why Singletary doesn't see the field in the first half. My second question is what happened to the short passing game that was working well. But to take one bad game yesterday and inflate it into some crap about how they won't win another game and the coach will get fired is just ridiculous and wishful thinking by a guy around here that gnaws on this like some puppy with a chew toy.
  5. The season won't end that way. You're being ridiculous because they had one bad game.
  6. Yeah I looked at the individual plays. Like I said I hope you’reright.
  7. The entire team played poorly yesterday
  8. Well, I hope you're right, because thing like gap responsibilities can be corrected. I'm not convinced of your premise based on the box score. But I think McD has shown he can get the team to refocus and come back with a good performance after poor ones, so I expect to see a good effort and victory next Sunday.
  9. They win Sunday. McD has shown he can hold his team together and have them ready to play after disappointing performances. And in all likelihood thy play against a rookie QB in his I think first start?
  10. They succeeded in the run game yesterday because they physically manhandled the Bills front 7. Scheming may have helped some but they were just physically more dominant.
  11. Maybe. But they have to use him more than they're using him now.
  12. Yes they do. But they aren't putting Singletary on the field enough. You want to make a trade that would hep immediately, see what the Bengals would want for Atkins
  13. Very reminiscent of last year's Colt's game. They found a run that worked and just kept pounding away. Calls into question the ability of the DC to adjust. Although if you have guys just getting beat physically I'm not sure how much adjustments would help.
  14. Gap control is done primarily by your D linemen. Face it, their lines physically dominated our lines. It's that simple. Yes, Edmunds needs to read plays better so he hits the right space. But their O line dominated the second half, and their D line threw guys from our O line around like rag dolls.
  15. Let's have some realistic conversation around here.
  16. Maybe. But let’s face it. They got their butts handed to them- got outcoached, got manhandled up front, got lackluster performances from most players. These kinds of games happen from time time to time, but they have things to fix before next week.
  17. You specifically brought up sample size and regression to the mean. Why? Allen and the whole team had a tough day today. The kid is getting it though. You don’t perform as well as he has this season in fourth quarters and suck, as you put it. That’s why I think they need to take the chains off and let him play from the opening whistle.
  18. Sorry but untrue. His accuracy has been better this year. Today was a struggle to be sure, but the whole team and especially the lines were terrible today
  19. Yep. Needs to read plays better.
  20. You brought up sample size, not me. So why did you bring it up? Sample of what? How big a size? And you have no idea how QBR is calculated (because it’s a proprietary formula with ESPN) but you use it to definitively declare a player sucks. Why don’t you just admit you have no clue? You don’t like Allen, fine. Quit pretending you have data to somehow prove what is just your opinion.
  21. Yes I do. Regresses up if below the mean and down if above. Why do you ask? Oh, by the way, since you love QBR, can you tell us how the formula works? Or why it has been the subject of criticism? As for sample size, has Allen had a big enough sample size? What are you sampling? Have you done a power analysis? You sure you want to start down this road?
  22. Well first of all I guarantee I understand numbers and stats better than you. Second, if you would actually read, I said he has to balance his performance over 4 quarters. Finally, a young QB that excels in the fourth quarter of games does not suck. If he did he wouldn’t perform that well when the heat is on.
  23. So you use QBR as your benchmark, his going into today was the highest one in the 4th quarter in the league, and all of a sudden it doesn’t mean anything. OK.
  24. He needs to balance his performance over 4 quarters. Today was a bad day for the team overall. But going into today he had the highest 4th quarter QBR in the league. Apparently you like the QBR so read that again. Guys like that don’t suck.
