  1. Feel free to argue about the risk of such a venture, but I don't think he gives a damn. Incredible feat in the outdoor world. Complete article - http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/06/05/531584651/alex-honnold-scales-el-capitan-without-ropes-and-the-climbing-world-reels
  2. The offensive line will always look worse than they really are with a mobile QB. They're still pretty bad, but I don't think Russ helps them out either. The Tarkenton stuff is helpful on many plays, but it also costs them plenty of other times.
  3. I would argue that any team with a consistently elite defense is going to have some borderline crazy & tough dudes to get along with. Russ is a top tier QB that still has lots of room to improve. That team is still so young, have they even peaked yet?
  4. I like them as a team, Russ is entertaining to watch as a Fran Tarkenton clone, and the defense is unreal. In an era when everyone gets cute with blitz schemes, substitutions, "moneybackers", etc. etc. , they just line up in Cover 3 and say "beat us". Few teams do. I think they'll win another championship or two, they have too much young talent on long term contracts not to.
  5. The Seahawks are not done writing their story. The team is still pretty intact and should be another playoff team.
  6. It's May 24th. Pump the brakes, he'll be fine. Good old offseason "stories" strike again.
  7. Pre draft.... NFL Lacks elite top-end speed to separate vertically. Could stand to polish the finer points of his route running. Inconsistent making contested grabs -- can be out-muscled in a crowd. CBS Lacks elite speed and can be caught from behind by NFL DBs. Timid at times over the middle. Seriously, who writes this stuff? My goodness, could they have been more wrong? You could make a case that he is the most explosive downfield threat in the game right now.
  8. I sure hope so, but Waufle is hardly a reserved and relaxed coach, I don't think his style will translate with everyone. I think some players could see him as a huge prick. The drill sergeant routine may fall on deaf ears.
  9. There weren't any "sure fire" QBs this year, but three teams moved up into the top 12, all expending big currency, to draft their guys. Pokes a pretty big hole in the "weak QB class" argument we heard all offseason, don't you think? Every year someone hypes up next's years class, and it always seems to fall short. How in the world did someone from WYOMING become a #1 overall candidate? Geezus.
  10. So true. There were many narratives last year at this time that Zeke was a reach, Bosa wouldn't fit as a 34 DE, and nobody was talking about Dak. Nobody knows anything yet. By taking KCs deal, we passed on some highly regarded prospects. Two QBs, the #1 CB, the #1B safety, and a DE/NT/DT freak in Jonathan Allen. I do hope this doesn't come back to sting us in the long run. Of course, ammo for next year doesn't hurt, especially if we need a QB and the hype actually lines up with a really talented class.
  11. They say the first step in grieving is denial. This isn't a rebuild!
  12. To quote JP Losman... "Sometimes you buy a house, oops"
  13. It's all perspective. Aspen residents would laugh at SF prices!
  14. It blows my mind, I knew guys paying $9000-$11,000 in taxes annually for homes in Pittsford and Brighton. Nice homes, but I wouldn't consider them mansions or anything. That monthly payment sure will sting after you've paid for the home. 2000 square feet in Arvada CO -$1700 a year. #sorrynotsorry
  15. I think Mahomes is in the best situation, so he's my pick. Great offensive coach, solid team, numerous offensive weapons and he's not going to be rushed on the field.
  16. It was from the MMQB article, here is the link: https://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/04/30/buffalo-bills-dysfunction-doug-whaley-fired-after-draft-sean-mcdemott-terry-kim-pegula I am now buying that Whaley simply needed to try harder. If your GM is regularly ignored or overruled, that is a definition of a dysfunctional franchise. For some reason, he was such a bad GM that he was getting ignored 2+ years ago, but we just fired him yesterday? It's hilarious.
  17. Just a few things that have been reported by the Buffalo news, SI and PFT. He didn't fire Rex Ryan - Pegula's decision. He didn't hire Rex Ryan - Pegula & Russ - remember Russ "Don't let him out of the building?" to Terry? His first choice for 2017 coach was Anthony Lynn - ignored. He wanted Tyrod Taylor gone - ignored (Dennison offense fit?) Rex, Brandon and Pegulas met with Tom Coughlin over football czar role - Whaley not involved. Tim Graham question to Pegula last year: “You mentioned Russ Brandon not being involved in football, but [he] has been on the scene with myriad football matters such as Rex’s hiring, in the draft room, at the Scouting Combine, where he meets with agents about player contracts. We even hear he breaks down film with scouts. . . . How is Russ’ role defined?” Feel free to scoff and say "All is well", that's your call, but that's from 5 minutes of digging. I would argue there is a pattern of questionable behavior that minimized Whaley's role at the organization.
  18. Whaley is not the core problem. That would be Russ & the Pegulas overriding or ignoring their GM's input. There are several examples where coaching or player decisions went against Whaley's opinion, for better or worse. If that doesn't change, the new guy doesn't stand a chance.
  19. I love it. As we progress through the offseason, Sammy gets better and better without even seeing the field. 1st team All Potential. Anyway, Sammy has poor trade value at the moment. Dumb to even consider it.
  20. I don't think he's terrible, nor is he amazing, but we're all guessing unless we know what his actual role was, along with what Russ & the Pegulas could override him on.
  21. Firing their GM & scouting department the day after the draft is hysterical. To this day, does anyone even know what Doug Whaley really did and had authority over? This phony GM business and Russ Brandon's continued role makes me scratch my head over the team's ability to right the ship.
  22. Joe Thomas is not the only person who goes to the grocery store and forgets what he's there for.
