  1. Quick glance, I think Sammy is the 24th or 25th ranked receiver on there?
  2. Interesting list - feeling optimistic that Dareus is a top 75 guy after this year. Be nice to have a guy who is top 10! A few random comments: Michael Bennett - too high OBJ - too low Aqib Talib - too low Alshon Jeffrey - WAY too high...
  3. There were numerous games in the past three years where his production was minimal, or non existent. Scheme does play a role in the production, but not 100%, that's all I'm saying. How much of a role scheme plays on production is tough to define, I'd say 75% is ability, 25% scheme...
  4. Great question, but I'm not privy to what mix makes us the most productive. I know we have the makings of an another top notch run game, and that should create very choice play action opportunities.
  5. I don't think it's as simple as targets, that be nice if it was. Hoping he is both available and consistent this year, it's now or never if he wants that check. Too many vanishing acts by him over the past 2 years. Some of it is injury, some of it is scheme, but some of it is on him and his abilities.
  6. Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt", Clapton "Tears in Heaven". Chris Stapleton did "Either Way" when we saw him at Red Rocks, pretty moving. I don't think he needed a microphone, he could have filled that venue without it.
  7. Sourdough - Tomato (S+P) - Mozzarella - Spinach - Pesto - Sourdough at home, Bar Bill Beef on weck at a restaurant.
  8. Several friends have them and rave about them, and all the research I've done on them shows the hype is real. One did an 18 hour cook at 225 on a pork shoulder with no need to refuel charcoal. They can easily hit 700 degrees, but I've heard some guys have pushed 1000 degrees with them. Of course, this burns out the felt gasket. Lots of chatter about "sous vide" lately, screw that! Crank that egg up to high temps, sear that steak and feast. While a large egg is ~$850, after building a table and adding some accessories (electrical starter, temp control, pizza stone, heat deflector, rib rack, etc. etc.) you are probably closer to ~$1500. Look at the Classic Kamado Joe, they have some nice features that are improvements over the BGE design. Check out the Costco Roadshow schedule, you can snag an 18" model with two grill levels, heat deflector, side tables and nest for $970. If you wanted to go the pellet grill route, go to a store and look at how thin those are. There are dozens of manufacturers, but many of them are glorified fuel drums with an auger on them. Thin equals poor heat retention, more moisture loss and lots of fuel to keep them hot. We burned $22 in fuel in ~14 hours! The higher end Traeger and Yoder smokers are much thicker, but you'll pay for them. I had a poor experience cooking on a Green Mtn Grill recently, and while my experience isn't the "end all, be all" I would be hesitant to go that route.
  9. This would have been the better approach I know it’s been 15 years since the Bills made the playoffs. Well get ready, man, we’re going. We are going. And the guarantee, hey, am I guaranteeing a Super Bowl and all that? I’ll tell you what I will do; I will guarantee the pursuit of it
  10. OK - so Paxton was a top 25 pick, but apparently the film shows Chad as a better thrower than him. NFL teams have the same film, so they should see the same thing, but yet, he was barely drafted. I think you are understating the importance of talent in this league. Injuries are one thing, but guys like Jaylon Smith, Willis McGahee, Todd Gurley were all drafted relatively high with shredded knees. Characters issues are another, but Gareon Conley, Joe Mixon and Janoris Jenkins didn't fall that far either. I'm not saying that character isn't important, but talent reigns supreme, and the guys with it will be drafted high, the guys without it will not. It took a murder investigation to push a talented player out of the draft (La'el Collins). Yes, you can buck the trend with the Tom Bradys of the world, but it is not a repeatable process. I just don't believe that Chad looks like a mid 1st rounder on the tape, but his knee and character concerns pushed him that far down. If that was the case, somebody would have taken him early.
  11. I'm intrigued by what Lynch can do. Big, strong arm, mobile and can make every throw. Sloppy mechanics causing inconsistent accuracy are his issues. The NFL draft talking heads said the guy needed at least a year on the bench, and he got that. He has excellent weapons at WR and a defense that will not force him to win games 31-28. Great situation for him to excel in.
  12. I just don't get statements like this. Look at Paxton Lynch. 6'7, 245 lbs, "elite arm talent & athletic ability" (Mike Mayock), no injuries, no character issues. From a raw ability standpoint, I don't understand how you could Chad has more to work with, straight up. If this guy was so talented, he would have been drafted earlier. It's not just injuries and character, he's simply not as good as 2BD makes it sound.
  13. Pretty much my thoughts too. Some players will respect his approach and go hard for him, others will tune him out because they view him as a huge prick.
  14. Here we go again... He should have no problem beating Lynch for the starting job. Dude hasn't even taken a practice snap yet!
  15. I just don't think it's that cut and dry. I saw an offense that clammed up and simply wasn't looking at ways to get the ball to their best players. Tough to say how Tyrod does in the Dennison system, I don't expect the zone read/option to be featured, more under center, play action, etc. I do know that we are elite in running the ball, and that should setup some incredible play action opportunities, especially if Sammy is healthy
  16. In both Denver & Houston, it is challenging to separate Kubiak & Dennison. The narrative in 2016 was that Kubiak was unable to fully hand off the offense to Dennison. Kubiak has historically called the plays for the teams he's coached. There is some intrigue on what Dennison could do on his own.
  17. All the more reason to incorporate quick throws where proven receivers can break a tackle and get downfield. These are the same guys who took the greatest QB of our generation and made him run play action bootlegs and take snaps from center at 37 years old. I'm just not jumping with joy on the offense being this finely tuned machine where all player strengths are capitalized.
  18. Dennison's scheme saw reduced production from both Thomas and Sanders in Denver the past two seasons, and they are much more established and proven then Sammy. Instead of finding ways to get arguably the #1 WR duo in the league the ball, they preferred to hand off to bum RBs behind a garbage OL. I hope he can incorporate an offense that highlights Sammy's abilities, but he didn't exactly sell me in Denver on how he could do that. I would argue that D.Thomas is the premier quick screen/slant WR in the league (him and Manning CRUSHED teams with that play) and you rarely saw that in 15 & 16. What do you think is more likely, that all those coaches couldn't spot brilliance in front of them, or that Sammy just isn't all he's cracked up to be? I think you can tell how I feel... Sammy is a good player with plenty to work with, but there isn't enough to say he is the best at anything or elite at this point in his career. More consistency and production will help. Pump the brakes.
  19. He hasn't been able to practice much the past few years, that can be the only "hindrance" I could see for his teammates, but I'm not buying it . Here we go again...
  20. Rookie here - who is LeRoi, or these "couple of people" that seem to have concrete info on the draft board? Naturally suspicious of this type of "confirmed info" that only circulates in the bowels of message boards, but maybe they pony up next to Russ at the Big Tree...
  21. Got a link to that? Doesn't line up with the story that both KC and Mcdermott told, which is that the deal was discussed a week earlier. If you have a player circled, no way you make that deal ahead of time, unless you really thought he'd fall to the late 1st. Considering 3 WRs went in the top 9, it appears that teams , and not the NFL mock draft talking heads, were much higher on these players than anticipated.
  22. What can I say, the $60 masterbuilt smoker I got off Craigslist runs better than that thing, and $6 in fuel to run it for 16 hours. Glad you enjoy it, but my first experience was very frustrating and not what I expected, and that's tough to ignore.
