  1. Naw, just throw it towards him and he'd go up and get it. Jump ball situation with a 6'1, 215 lb safety on him, who do you think wins? He reportedly ran a 4.6 40, that's faster than Gronkowski, similar to Jimmy Graham. I don't think he'd be any slouch if he switched sports, too late now though.
  2. Yeah, for 1 year. Not exactly a 10 year run of top tier performance. Same with football - one Pro Bowl. I get that his split time played a big part in that. He was clearly an incredible talent, but it would have been nice to see him go crazy in one sport for a long time. That matters to me, YMMV. Lebron would be a Pro Bowl tight end from Day 1.
  3. I think you have to dominate at least one sport to be in the conversation, that's my one hesitation with Bo. Phelps - Lebron - Jim Brown, all up there.
  4. I'm not a Lebron homer, but if we're talking pure athleticism, not just versatility across sports, I think he's a serious contender.
  5. Maybe not, be was a very, very good player for a very long time. If you get 1,000 catches in the league, you're probably going to the HOF, regardless of how "good" you were.
  6. 11 straight 1,000 yard seasons, 9 out of 11 were 1200+ yards. I don't think we'll see a run like that ever again. He is absolutely top 5, and you wouldn't be off your rocker by saying he's top 3. I'd go Payton - Brown - Sanders - Emmitt, so he'd be my #4.
  7. I think some players would translate quite well, others, not so much. Gale Sayers on the Saints, or Deacon Jones on the Broncos, would destroy people. Just annihilate the opposition. I don't think the slim downed tackles, guards and ILBs of old would stand a chance. I'll ask this - does Marshawn get in if he stayed retired? Didn't have the career accumulation numbers, but he had a TD lite run for ~4.5 years with Seattle and some above average years here, I'd say absolutely.
  8. Those 4 years weren't good, they were incredible, and no voter will discredit a player for being on a good team. He was more important to those Super Bowls than Elway or Sharp. His playoff rushing numbers are #1 in league history by a good margin. HOF is not just about cumulative stats, I think he deserves to be in. I think this is a pretty impossible question to answer. With the benefit of hindsight, many players from the 60s and 70s could be overrated, but it's so tough to compare eras.
  9. I'd say Sherman. He was a later pick, and is a more talented player than Russ. When all is said and done, he might be the best CB of our era. Ours has to be Kyle. 12 years of consistent production.
  10. The Hackenburg videos are gold. Throw one to Tre White on September 10th!
  11. Rainier and the Grand Canyon are both stunning. Eastbound flights out of San Jose are sick - they do an ascending spiral before going east, you can a splendid view of the whole Bay and downtown San Francisco. Coolest thing so far: Flying back to Denver last year, there were clouds from ~13,000' down. We were coming back from Seattle so the inbound route puts you right over Rocky Mtn NP area, just the tippy tops of the highest peaks were sticking out through the clouds. Sun was starting to set so it gave the peaks a nice glow, especially Longs. Just a really trippy view of one of my favorite areas.
  12. Maybe. I bet there are some studies out there on it, I'd be interested in reading that. A joint may be more potent, and you might smoke less, but if you include any concentrates, patches or edibles into the mix, I bet you'd see overall THC rates higher than 70s averages.
  13. Weed 40 years ago was half sod grass, stuff these days is significantly more potent.
  14. Yep, Austin is really cool. I was there last week, loved it. Cool vibe, very hip, but minimal yuppy smug like you might see in Boulder or Burlington. The BBQ is unreal. Yes, everyone knows Franklins for their brisket, but you can find many places that give you 90% for a 5 minute wait. Freedman's by UT-Austin was excellent and a really cool vibe (old 1860s building built by a freed slave). Check out the bats flying from the Congress Bridge in mid summer too.
  15. I think we're on two different pages. I'm talking more about legalization and what I think medical marijuana would need to look like, from a regulation standpoint, to get widespread support, not a "How much weed should I smoke? I think it's well established that you don't eat a big chunk of a 300mg candy bar on day one, unless you want your hotel bed to resemble a magic carpet flying through Arabia for 24+ hours. Most people here aren't that naive.
  16. Yes, that is what I'm getting at, to the best of my knowledge, there is no standard. I do think that having some guidelines in place would help, medicine is not a "do as much as you need" practice. Even the fruit gummy vitamins in my pantry have dosage requirements. There is a massive difference in the effects from a ~10mg joint and a 500mg candy bar with 50mg pieces. I'm way behind on how the experience changes when dabbing or patching.
  17. For anyone has indulged on the medical side, has a MJ doctor ever "prescribed" a dosage to you? From folks I've talked to, that's nothing that they have ever brought up. Every medical prescription I've ever had was followed with precise requirements on time, duration, dosage amounts and limits. I could see that be a major hurdle if that is they really want this to be cleared for medical use. I've only indulged on the retail side and have clueless on how the medical process works.
  18. ^Another day, another "Sammy is much better than believed" comment. You can set your watch to it. This is a weird list, why limit it to three guys? It's much more beneficial to talk about teams with the best QBs & total number of weapons (WR+TE+RB) The way its structured, some really good players are cut out of their rankings, like Randall Cobb, Brandin Cooks, Tevin Coleman & Julian Edelman.
  19. "If Sammy is consistent at..." "If Sammy gets targets..." "If Sammy is healthy..." I hope by 2017, we take "if" out of the equation.
  20. Take a listen to Chromeo - more "electro-funk", but it's a really cool sound they've got going.
  21. He's certainly one of the most versatile players, just think he's more a "jack of all trades, master of none" type player.
  22. That's not how records work .I think it's blantantly obvious that OBJ would crush it in any scheme or era. He'll get 17-19 million no problem , and is certainly a better player than many 20 million plus QBs, but that's not how the league values players
  23. Maybe, but who cares? This is a talent & productivity driven league, and since he rewrote the records books year 1-3, has done both at a ridiculous level.
  24. You already know how this is going to go, he'll get a contract that is #1 for WRs. Standard stuff here, it will work itself out. Typical dead season "story" LOL at people with some of these nasty comments about him, probably still bitter that we traded for Sammy when we could of just taken him.
