  1. that or, "you're lucky to have us".
  2. i've said the design is meh, and i'd like a dome too. i just can't get over man babies crying that they didn't get what they want. i'm not a season ticket holder, but i go to a few games a year, and yeah...i do live in the area. my taxes will go to this too. things are exactly the way i want, and i can still manage to not be a giant B word about it.
  3. so you don't know much about it but use it as an example? don't listen to einstein. he has zero idea that there's more than inflation at play here. just look up construction costs over the last 3 years alone. you really think the pegulas didn't figure cost into the design. everyone is acting like he got one quote and just accepted it. that's not how this works with multiple sources of revenue going into one project. that's the cost of doing business.
  4. in terms of looks yes. what's going inside? how much of the canopies are going to covers seats? i don't know. you don't know. again, if you don't want to get wet, stay home.
  5. how many rendering have you been involved with or building projects have you completed? you know they hire groups, get multiple bids, etc. you're right though...the billionaire is getting screwed because that's how he rolls. face it...you didn't get what you what so you're complaining about it. how about just moving on? if it's too cold and bothersome in the winter...don't go. that's your choice. what you and a lot of other poster don't realize is that you griping about it won't change a thing. it just won't.
  6. this is your assumption because you see the cost and it doesn't equate to what you want. i get it. so what about the tenn stadium. i honestly know nothing about it, so what's the point being made there, (i really am not sure).
  7. yes...it's the stadium design, and that's it. it doesn't include the amenities inside the stadium that people are complaining about already, or specifics. we have someone circling voids that may not be part of the final design at all. the over all look is represented, but that may not be the specific size of the score board, etc.
  8. you think those stadium would be build for 1.4 billion today?
  9. it's a simple as that. if you want to show contempt for this project...what's better? complaining about it on a message board or just not spend the money on a product you approve of. there was always going to be a group that's not satisfied. that's life, but some of the reasoning i hear concerning this is just odd.
  10. i'm not sure why people are so fixated on that we're not getting what we should be getting for the price. no one know what the costs are, (including me) so that's just a strange approach. enough with the costs to the tax payers. it won't hit either of us financially, and shouldn't change our lives. i'm not a season ticket holder, so i certainly don't have as much stake in it as you do to be fair. so...the rendering. have you dealt with them before? they'll give you an esthetic overview, and possibly the the idea of what seats will be covered, but that's it. there's no further specs than that. maybe the score board is a different size, seating layout looks a bit different, etc. there's no reason to get bent out of shape at this point, yet here we are. if the stadium isn't the way you want it, would you still buy tickets? i think that's what you have to ask yourself.
  11. yes, but i'm not complaining either way. guess what? those rendering may have more of what you want than you can tell. it's a rendering. that's all. of course i'm making assumptions, but i've chosen not to complain about anything until i know at least what's going to be included. until then, it's the same people bitching...well, that's because it's who they area. you have a guy here trying to show inflation rates in terms on construction costs to B word. he just wants to complain. say it with me...you will never see a dome here, and i'm bummed about that too.
  12. ok. so you think the massive jump in costs of construction and housing has just followed standard inflation over the last couple of years? you know...i've seen people get into it with you. i figured you either didn't understand or you were just refusing to see other's points. now i know you just don't understand. again, for the price, what should the bills be getting that they should be?
  13. the cost rising is not just as a result of inflation...at all. the costs of construction, labor, housing, etc has risen far beyond standard inflation. comparing cost of building a stadium in 2016 and 2017 doesn't factor in today. how much more is housing alone this year than 2 years ago....or building. is that just inflation? ok. so you're fixated on cost. do you think the bills are getting taken for the cost. what do you think they should be getting for the money being spent. honestly, all i see here is people who do like the way it was designed, and are trying to find a way to complain. whiney men. get over it. there's no dome. yeah...that's kinda how it works. again, you biggest issue is you don't like the look.
  14. again, you're making assumptions. on top of that, your looking at inflation from 2016 to 2023? do you think that's taken into account the recent massive price hike on supplies and labor? you just can't compare costs now to costs then. i think that would be obvious. what was the typical costs of other stadiums in 2016? there's more of an approach to this than you're considering.
  15. so you're upset about not getting a dome. i get it. i would love a dome, ( i didn't care about the downtown area as much but i certainly got the idea). you're concerned about the elements...fine. the moment you knew there wasn't going to be a dome, you had to get used to getting rained/snowed on in most areas. those rendering likely don't show exactly ho0w the overhangs are set up, so it's all premature now. listen, how long have we hear fans complain about how lousy the stadium was now and how we should be embarrassed. now we're getting a new stadium, and people are now complaining about how expensive the tickets are going to be. we've been spoiled forever in terms of cost, and now we're going to be brought in line with typical prices. for anyone not to expect that is foolish on their part. we all knew there would be a new stadium, and we all knew it wasn't going to please everyone. so what are your options? deal with it the way it is, or just don't buy seasons. that's it. being angry on a message board about things were not completely sure of is a joke. concerning not having a dome, get over it. correct. that's my point.
  16. we know no dome. people have to just get over it. you don't know the exact size of the scoreboard. you don't like the design, and that's personal which is fine. you don't know the exact layout of seating sections, you don't know exactly how the concourse look. all of this and you're complaining how much it costs. with no idea of what's going in, cost of materials, cost of labor, etc, and you're complaining about the cost. all of this teeth gnashing over a rendering. i build a building for my office a few years ago. obviously a small project, but the renderings i started with differed quite a bit on the final product. the generic look of the building was the same, but that was about it. on top of that, if i tried to build the same structure this year vs the end of 2019 when it was completed, i'd be paying 50-70% more. it's just how life is right now.
  17. every stadium is different, and if you don't think the last few year have changed the cost of construction, you're completely out of touch. so...it the money being spent you're worried about? you're complaining on what's being spent and how we're not getting our moneys worth even though you're not sure what's being included? so you think because minnesota did it one way a few years ago, it's still apples to apples now. you're just complaining at this point. same people, same whiney nonsense.
  18. sure. which are renderings, which are limited. we have people immediately assuming what's there and what's not. fine, but to be angry about something you aren't even sure is included at this point? we have another poster already upset about money not being properly used! it's far to early to have meltdowns over something we're not even sure about yet. also, let's face it...not everyone is going to be satisfied, yet i can almost guarantee what posters are going to be the loudest about it. einstein, you're already questioning what the money is being used for without having a clue as to what's going into it. you don't even know what to like vs not like yes, so yes...you're being incredibly whiney. how do you know what exactly has been address and not addressed yet?
  19. so...you're trying to do some sort of a cost analysis without actually knowing a thing about what's going into the stadium and specific specs? amazing. sure, but we have people complaining with knowing very little specifics. just because the esthetic isn't what some wanted, there's immediate crying.
  20. i swear some of you are just whiny men.
  21. my wife is a school psych in a similar situation. she recently had all of her remaining loans forgiven i think after paying on time for 10 years. i'm sure hammersticks can walk you through this better than anyone, but all i know is that my wife is 37 with no remaining loans. on top of that, she always let me know how she's retiring at 55 when she has her 30 years in. that one bugs me.
  22. well...that's interestsing.
  23. That is some solid sleuthing.
  24. i agree. rich gannon was talking about just this on sirius nfl. he says he played with a number of guys who had multiple concussion over multiple years, and today they are functioning, (or seem to be functioning) at a normal level. they were able to play through it and it didn't effect their lives. other players aren't the same after 1 or 2 concussions. a lot depends on the individual.
  25. i have to imagine we'll see something similar to that. i'm just assuming though.
