If you're scouting Allen off his highlight reel (which it seems like many people do this time of year), he looks amazing. But when you watch him play entire games, not so much... He may have the highest ceiling of any QB in this draft, but I think it'll take a perfect scenario, and maybe a bit of luck, for him to reach it. If yoire trading up for a QB it's already a huge risk. No reason to make that risk even higher by going with such a total boom or bust QB prospect. Plus, Accuracy issues can be pretty hard to fix. The only one I can think of that has ever succeeded in the NFL with a 56% completion percentage is Matt Stafford. But when you look at his career lege career, Stafford had a 55% comp. his first 2 years in college, but then he improved that to 61% in his final college season. So he wasn't entering the draft after throwing for 56% comp. He had already shown the ability to be more accurate over a full college season. He had steadily improved over his 3 years in college, too. Ill get excited about and support whatever QB the Bills take. But I'd prefer someone other than Allen. But I'm not expert, so I'll defer to their judgement. It would be quite a swing for the fences drafting Allen though. If he hit his ceiling, we'd be set for a decade +.

Bills OT Henderson will sign with Texans

Wow! Although it says "up to", so we will see what he has to do to hit that $4M number... -
Bridgewater to Sign with the Jets
BillsFan4 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah for sure, they could just dump Hack or Petty or both. But I was just saying that they do have 4 QBs now, 2 of which the current GM drafted to develop and we have no idea how much he likes them. I doubt any any of the 4 QBs on their roster make them pass up a QB at 6 if the guy they like is there. But maybe with the Bridgewater signing it will be enough to keep them from going hard after a trade-up? (I hope...). I don't really know what the Jets are doing, to be honest. lol -

Id love to know if the Bills did make an offer to him. It it doesn't seem like they really went very hard after any available free agent QB, which makes me wonder if they have a trade in place for a top 3 pick and are just waiting for Glenn to have his physical in Cincy? I can dream, right?! lol -

Interesting... Do they still go QB at (or above) 6? Hopefully not, but I wouldn't bet on that. I am guessing they still do. Although they already have 4 now - McCown, Bridgewater, Petty, Hackenberg. -
Being on a short leash could also be a reason to go with a QB further along in his development like Bridgewater. I think the Jets will probably still go QB at 6 too. Im just looking for possible reasons for them to not do that, is all! lol I want both the Jets and Broncos to be satisfied enough with their QB situations that they feel no need to try and trade up, or even better pass on a QB in the top 5 all together! I know it's probably unlikely but I can hope...

everything I've seen says in His rookie year he finished 2nd in the NFL among all defensive tackles in run stop percentage and was ranked 6th best defensive tackle against the run by PFF . https://www.footballoutsiders.com/index.php?q=stat-analysis/2014/run-stop-rates-2013 https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/2013-pff-defensive-rookie-of-the-year Carolina's defense went from 14th against the run the year before, to 2nd in the NFL against the run in his rookie year. (110yds per game in 2012 to 86yds per game in 13). They finished 1st in the NFL in sacks, too He also finished 4th in AP defensive rookie of the year voting.

Maybe, maybe not. What other texam is left left right now without a starting QB? The Bills? I can't think of anyone else offhand. Id imagine he'd probably see his chances at starting for the Jets sometime next season, for the often injured and 39yr old Josh McCown, as pretty good. If the Jets tell him that they see him as their potential long term starter but want to work him back slowly, he could sign there. It depends on if he sees a better opportunity elsewhere I guess. As of now I don't see too many, but that can change quickly in the NFL. Itll be interesting to see what happens in NY, that's for sure. If they sign Bridgewater, I'm hoping that means they won't go as hard after a QB in the draft. I hope he does sign there and they decide not to go QB with pick 6 or attempt a trade up!

I hope this doesn't mean that they are all in on trading up for a QB...

Jack is back! (at practice at least)... I'll take it! Definitely glad he is nearing a return. -

So are we the only team left in the Foles market?
BillsFan4 replied to 947's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be very happy with Foles for a 3rd. Eagles may just hold onto him until they see if Wentz is ready to go. Or they may just wait and see if a team has an injury at the QB position and gives up the 1st + that they want for him... And I have zero interest in Foles for a 1st. -
Veteran QB: It all comes down to FOLES / MCCARRON!
BillsFan4 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Foles is the best option left, for sure. But if we trade a 1st for him and skip over a QB in the 1st round I'll puke, and lose a lot of faith in "the process". -
I hope they are. Otherwise itll really suck if they miss out on the top 3 QBs in this draft as well as seemingly already missing out on all of the decent free agent QBs, and not even having Tyrod as a placeholder option anymore. If the QB draft class looked better next year I wouldn't be as worried because I'd say "hey, maybe we'll get a high pick next year and get our QB then". But the QB class looks like garbage outside of (basically) 1 guy, so.... Yeah, it's looking more and more like they have no choice but to go all in on a QB in the draft this year.

Which UFA QB Should the Bills Sign?
BillsFan4 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fact that none of the top free agent QBs seemed to have much of any interest in signing here makes me wonder if they all probably think the Bills are trading up for a QB too... -

BillsFan4 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't really care as long as we land one of the top 3 QBs in this draft class! I just hope we don't miss out on a QB in the draft and end up trading a 1st for Foles... Or decide not to trade up and give up a 1st for Foles instead. -

Bridgewater to Sign with the Jets

He would make a whole lot of sense to be a mentor to a rookie QB. He seems like he'd embrace it and fill that role very well. -

I wonder if they think Bridgewater is good enough to pass on a QB at 6? Or or at least have no interest in trading up? I still think they take Allen at 6. Maccagnan fell in love with Hackenberg and he and Allen are somewhat similar IMO (not saying they are the same by any means). Both are massive (Hack 6'4", Allen 6'5") prototypical QBs with all the measurables. Both have flashed great potential. Both struggle with accuracy. Both have huge arms. -
Rap Sheet: Bills pursuing Bradford for deal
BillsFan4 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well damn. I actually would have been happy with Bradford. We are just about down to the table scraps now... Bridgewater is probably the best of what's left, and I'd be happy with him (if his knee is healthy enough to play). Bills better pray they get their QB in the draft, otherwise they will probably be overpaying significantly for Foles (1st round pick or more) which would suck.
