This was a great theory. I heard lots of,people talking about this last year, but it never came to fruition. IMO there really isn't much reason to believe that Glenn or Dawkins could have been our long term RT. Neither have shown an ability to play the right side. Glenn has never really played RT and neither has Dawkins. They tried Dawkins at RT last year and he was worse than Mills. And I know when Rex first got here he had Glenn flipping between LT and RT, and he struggled on the right. IIRC I believe Marrone may have tried Glenn at RT for a short time too (I remember him commenting about how Glenn wasn't happy about it because he wanted to get paid as a LT) but it didn't last long cause Glenn wasn't nearly as good on the right. I think we're better off going after a true RT in free agency or the draft anyway. They tried Dawkins at RT during training camp last year. He never looked comfortable there and struggled so much Mills was outplaying him. Now, has he been given more time to adjust, who knows if he would have been able to lock that spot down. I guess we will never know, but he definitely struggled trying to switch from left to right (he was a LT in college).

Josh Rosen has "Bust" written ALL over him.

He wasn't very good in the first half of that game. That last 20 mins or so was amazing though! I remember that throw you're talking about. There was definitely luck involved that's for sure! Most times that is an interception not a TD. But it was still a brilliant comeback victory. -
Id be nervous giving this guy any type of long term deal. Seems like last year could have just been a flash in the pan. He's had 1 god season in the 6 years since he entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent. Im always leery of QBs with more bad than good on their resume. Especially those with only 1 good season. We've seen plenty of QBs play well for 1 season only to never be able to repeat it. He bounced around practice squads for years and was waived multiple times by 2 different teams. Then lands in a great situation in Minnesota, the starter gets hurt, Keenum goes in and gets hot after a bit of an up-and-down first few games. His resume doesn't exactly scream "pay me big money and term" to me. Id be fine with him as a bridge QB though. Something like a 3 year deal at the very most, with an out after 1 or 2 and then go hard after our long term QB in the draft. Id be fine with most veteran QBs on the market as bridge QBs though if we draft one of the top 3 QBs in this class! lol

That wasn't a highlight reel. It was just 1 game. He went 35-59, with 491 yards and 4 touchdowns. They were down by 34 points near the end of the 3rd quarter. He led 5 straight touchdown drives (of 66 yards or longer) to score 35 unanswered points and win the game. It was the 2nd largest comeback victory in NCAA history. He was absolutely brilliant. I would highly suggest watching the game on YouTube sometime for anyone that's interested (or at least the 3rd and 4th quarters). -

http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/02/2018_nfl_draft_josh_rosen_highlights_scouting_report_and_fit_with_buffalo_bills.html I like this one on Rosen better ... lol Or this - -
I don't think so. Bills don't have a 6th. They traded their 5th for the Bengals 6th
-
I would guess - Dion Dawkins, Richie Incognito, ? (Groy maybe?), Miller/Vlad/someone new, Mills/someone new. Dawkins did very well at LT last season, and not so good at RT. So Glenn was likely made redundant in the eyes of McBeane. Then you look at the high price tag and missed games the last 2 seasons, and you can see why they were leaning toward Dawkins on a rookie 2nd round contract. Add in the Bengals offering to swap 1sts and give the Bills a much better shot at their QB and the decision's even easier. I liked Glenn a lot too, and just said today that they better be sure Dawkins can continue playing like last season. But that was when I was expecting Glenn to bring back a 3rd or something similar... with our desperate need at QB this would have been a hard trade to say no to.

Ummm....
-
That's my guess too. A lot better than both 1sts, both 2nds and both 3rds! And more appealing going to 12 instead of 21 for a team moving back
-
He is. From everything ive read from his teammates and coaches, all that stuff is BS. Did you happen to see the articles with all the quotes from his teammates on these alleged rumors?
-
I was wondering how we swapped 6ths since we didn't have one. This answers that question... Not as good as moving up in the 5th, but I'll still take it.
-
https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=BUF Now our two 1st round picks are worth 2000 points. The #2 pick is worth 2600. A trade up just got cheaper!
-
Give me any 1 of the top 3! Rosen is #1 in my personal wishlist though. Highest ceiling and floor IMO.
-
Swap of 1sts but I'll take it! MUCH better shot at trading up or landing a QB now. Looks like it could be an eagles-like move (for Wentz)
-
-
Did we swap 1sts? Or did we get the 12th pick straight up? Beane is the best GM ever if he got #12 straight up!
-
Ok, now I really do think we are trying to move up to the top5
-
Josh Rosen please!! But It very well could just be that they plan to rebuild the team through the draft.
-
I'll be pissed if that's all we got. The rumor was that the Seahawks were hot after Glenn but didn't end up trading for him because the cost was prohibitive. They traded for Duane Brown instead, giving up a 2018 3rd and 2019 2nd for Brown and a 5th.
-
Anxious to see what we got! Hope it's a good return (2nd). Glenn is a proven franchise caliber LT, and was very reliably available up until that foot injury. Also, I sure hope Dawkins is able to continue playing like he did last season...
-
Does he for sure only have 1 year left on his deal? I thought so too, but then I looked into it a bit and now I'm not so sure. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/nick-foles-9898/ https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nick-foles-contract-would-make-him-a-free-agent-if-hes-on-the-eagles-in-february-2019/ It looks like he actually has 4 years left on his deal. But it voids after the 2018 season if he's still on the Eagles roster. So, would it still void after this year if he's traded? Or do those additional 3 years kick in since he's not in the Eagles roster?

OPINION: We have a trade partner in place

It's definitely a whole lot to give up. But I wouldn't say "let alone this draft class". This actually looks like one of the strongest QB draft classes in years IMO, and on top,of that its a unique circumstance where 2 of the top 3 teams don't need a QB. Seems like a heck of an opportunity to acquire an elite QB prospect IMO.
