  1. I agree with everything you are saying. But on the bolded part - did McDermott ever actually say this or is this just an assumption on your part? i can't remember him ever actually saying that's specifically why he traded down.
  2. https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/02/22/free-agent-tampering-period-agents-players-mmqb I believe these types of talks are always going on.
  3. http://buffalonews.com/2018/03/02/inside-the-sabres-it-comes-down-to-a-matter-of-respect/ This is actually a really good article/point by John Vogl. Id quote the article, but it's pretty short and worth reading the whole thing. I do think he has a very good point, and I can see where what he's saying could be a very real issue with this team.
  4. My guess is that It would be for Josh Rosen. Really hoping Cousins lands in Denver now! I am thinking more and more that we end up with one of the 2nd tier QBs like Allen, Rudolph, Jackson. Or maybe even another (perceived) step down like White, Falk etc. I think there migh just be too much competition for a QB from teams way higher up in the draft order like Denver, NYJ, maybe Arizona. Trying to temper my expectations. I was allowing myself to get lost in the daydream of trading up for Rosen/Darnold...
  5. They are actually more like $16- $19M over (depending on if you look at spotrac or overthecap) right now if you include Robert Quinn's cap hit. Thats more than double the amount (give or take) that the Eagles are over the cap by (which is the only other team currently over the cap (not counting KC)), and they just came off a Super Bowl win. Miami is coming off a 6 win season...
  6. I thought it was kinda funny that after they couldn't deal him in the Peters trade, the very first name they thought of to call was Mike Tannenbaum in Miami... lol.
  7. Depends on the GM I guess. I dont see Beane overpaying for anyone, including his own free agents. He seems like he has set prices on everyone that he won't exceed. Now if we were talking about Doug Whaley or Buddy Nix, then maybe it'd be different. But this isn't a Mario Williams situation... lol. All I meant with my original comment is that I wouldn't break the bank for Wake at his age.
  8. Not every black kid that gets in trouble is due to a "ghetto thug life" upbringing. Humphrey never grew up in the "ghetto". He grew up in the suburbs, his parents were middle (to middle upper) class. His father was an ex NFL football player as well as a minister. Held a good full time job. His mother was an athlete too. Both attended college. Marlon was a smart student, did well in school. He was a junior Olympic medalist (multiple times). He went to Hoover High School, which is a highly ranked public school (#500 something out of 17,000+ schools) with student test scores well above average. He has like 4 siblings that (I believe) all attended college too. Also, he's never been in legal trouble before this from everything I could find. If you read the story posted in this thread, I don't see how you can even draw any conclusions about this having anything to do with "ghetto thug life". He was hanging out with a couple chicks, got drunk, asked to borrow a phone charger and got mad when asked to return it (because he claims he forgot in his drunken state that it wasn't his). Something like that could happen to someone regardless of where they grew up or what color their skin is. And they surely don't have to have lived a "ghetto thug life" which you have no clue if this guy ever lived that lifestyle anyway. In fact, I'm sure most of us could tell some type of drinking story - maybe not involving the police - but a drinking story where we forgot who something belonged to or got angry for a stupid reason, or had a drunk friend/person get angry. Maybe even got into a dumb fight. It doesn't automatically mean you were raised a certain way or are reverting to a certain lifestyle. Sounds like he just made a stupid mistake is all. I'm not sticking up for his actions. I'm just pointing out that it has nothing to do with what you said.
  9. Yeah he was right on. And Rosen is the QB I want, too! Bad. If the price/term were right, sure. I think his personality definitely fits with what McDermott likes. And he works his ass off. I remember reading stories about how he would lead post practice exercise sessions in Miami and stuff like that. I actually think he'd be a good culture fit, and a good fit on the field. But he is 36 (IIRC) so we can't break the bank for him or anything. I'd definitely be interested if he were released though. But he's the type that I could see taking a pay cut to stay in Miami. Wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened.
  10. Smart kid. The more I see of Rosen, the more I want the Bills to go up and get him. I think he has a real shot at being a special QB. I really want the Bills to draft this kid! (somehow) I think all those so called personality issues are way overblown by some fans.
  11. Looking at the dead money hit for 2018, it appears that Quinn's full cap hit (just about) will go to the Dolphins (minus $955k). I believe The Phins have to make some moves to free up cap before this trade can even happen, right? They are either $5 million over the cap or $8M over the cap depending on which site you look at, and that doesn't even include the $11+ Million Quinn will cost. I believe they have to be cap compliant by the start of the new league year.... so moves are coming. But as of now they are at least $17M over the cap if you count Quinn. That's absolutely ridiculous for a team that has only won 6 games 2 of the past 3 years and has only made the playoffs once in the past decade. Talk about horrible cap management... I love it as a Bills fan! lol
  12. True. And I agree. I think it was Schefter saying that "they have not been engaged in any talks to move up in the draft" that made me question the Albright report.
  13. Hey, at least I didn't start a new thread for it, right? lol
  14. I haven't lost hope by any means yet. Its still very very early in the process. Beane and McDermott are too calculated to be ready to trade up for a QB without fully vetting him, or even meeting him yet in some cases.
  15. Welp... looks like Albright may have been full of crap (damn it!) - http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/03/buffalo_bills_have_not_been_engaged_in_talks_to_move_up_in_2018_nfl_draft_says_a.html Hopefully they're just waiting until after the combine...
  16. I think Cousins likely goes to Minnesota, but it sucks for the Bills. Thats the one rumored team that actually hurts Buffalo, as They pick well after us in the draft. Id much rather him go to a team like Denver, Arizona or even the NYJ, who by signing him would all leave a QB on the board for Buffalo. Ideal scenario in my mind is that Cousins goes to Denver, Keenum goes to the NYJ, and Bradford/Bridgewater go to Arizona and all3 pass on drafting a QB with their top pick. Seems more and more likely this guy's top/only priority is money. Itll be intresting to see if he picks the team that offers him the most money, or if he goes to the best situation.
  17. It's weird, I can't click on a twitter link from this site anymore. It used to take me to the tweet/twitter page, not it just takes me to a sign-in page. Anyone else have this issue?
  18. Not a chance I would give up the #21 overall pick for Nick Foles. That would be a massive overpayment IMO. I don't see Foles as anything more than a bridge QB, and you don't give up a 1st round pick for that. 1 good season back in 2013, and a SB MVP type game isn't worth a mid round 1st. You should be getting a long term starter with that pick, and hopefully a high end impact type player. You could be trading a potential franchise type player like Tre White with that #21 pick. I want an upgrade on tyrod badly, but if my choice is Foles or Tyrod plus #21, I'd rather have Tyrod + whatever player we get with pick #21. Id much rather trade up and give up both 1sts for a guy with a sky high ceiling like Rosen. We already know what Foles is, and he's not the type of QB that really elevates a franchise and the players around him. He's a bridge QB (at best IMO). I'm not even sure he's a full time starter TBH, unless it's in the right situation/scheme, with the right talent and playcalling.
  19. I would be so excited if Beane found a way to move up and draft this kid.
  20. I honestly don't know. I just remember reading a report shortly after McDermott was hired saying that they planned to bring in someone from the Carolina front office. I don't remember the report saying anything about firing Whaley, just that they were supposed to be bringing in someone from Carolina. Maybe someone can post the tweet/report? I quickly looked for it but couldn't find it. I'll post it if I find it. Just looking back in hindsight though, it does appear to me the plan was in place to move on from Whaley shortly after McDermott was hired.
  21. Thoughts and prayers with Jim Kelly and his family. I can only imagine what they are all going through right now after learning this devastating news. My heart aches for them.
  22. There was a report (or a tweet - same difference these days, right? lol) almost right after McDermott was hired that the Bills were looking to hire someone from Carolina's front office. Lots of speculation that person was Beane. I think the Bills may have denied the report at the time, but we all know how that ended up turning out...
  23. Here's one And here's 2 - This is absolutely false. Here's links to a bunch of real pictures of the earth. I just picked the first few that came up in a google search - https://newatlas.com/gallery-photograph-earth-from-space/50704/#gallery https://www.cnet.com/pictures/10-space-images-that-look-fake-but-are-actually-real-pictures/ https://www.nasa.gov/feature/top-15-earth-images-of-2015 https://www.space.com/35155-best-earth-from-space-photos-2016-astronaut-gallery.html http://www.ibtimes.com/5-best-nasa-photos-earth-space-2017-2634957 Here's a live feed from the international space station - https://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/iss_ustream.html and a youtube video slideshow posted by NASA just in case you don't want to click on the links -
