I hope they are. Otherwise itll really suck if they miss out on the top 3 QBs in this draft as well as seemingly already missing out on all of the decent free agent QBs, and not even having Tyrod as a placeholder option anymore. If the QB draft class looked better next year I wouldn't be as worried because I'd say "hey, maybe we'll get a high pick next year and get our QB then". But the QB class looks like garbage outside of (basically) 1 guy, so.... Yeah, it's looking more and more like they have no choice but to go all in on a QB in the draft this year.

Which UFA QB Should the Bills Sign?

The fact that none of the top free agent QBs seemed to have much of any interest in signing here makes me wonder if they all probably think the Bills are trading up for a QB too... -

I don't really care as long as we land one of the top 3 QBs in this draft class! I just hope we don't miss out on a QB in the draft and end up trading a 1st for Foles... Or decide not to trade up and give up a 1st for Foles instead. -

Bridgewater to Sign with the Jets

He would make a whole lot of sense to be a mentor to a rookie QB. He seems like he'd embrace it and fill that role very well. -

Bridgewater to Sign with the Jets

I wonder if they think Bridgewater is good enough to pass on a QB at 6? Or or at least have no interest in trading up? I still think they take Allen at 6. Maccagnan fell in love with Hackenberg and he and Allen are somewhat similar IMO (not saying they are the same by any means). Both are massive (Hack 6'4", Allen 6'5") prototypical QBs with all the measurables. Both have flashed great potential. Both struggle with accuracy. Both have huge arms. -
Rap Sheet: Bills pursuing Bradford for deal
BillsFan4 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well damn. I actually would have been happy with Bradford. We are just about down to the table scraps now... Bridgewater is probably the best of what's left, and I'd be happy with him (if his knee is healthy enough to play). Bills better pray they get their QB in the draft, otherwise they will probably be overpaying significantly for Foles (1st round pick or more) which would suck. -
Dude, he's been well known in his career (since college) to be great against the run. And he can absolutely maul people and eat up double teams. He is a powerhouse. He is excellent at holding the point of attack. http://www.carolinahuddle.com/2017/08/28/carolina-panthers-star-lotulelei/ https://www.sbnation.com/2016/11/1/13486176/star-lotulelei-panthers-defensive-lineman-sacks-cardinals-hoss-of-the-week http://www.panthers.com/news/article-2/Still-a-Star-in-the-making/d497efb7-5a06-4f69-a8ff-42a6a9d5418c https://catcrave.com/2016/03/24/tbt-the-best-of-star-lotulelei/ http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/03/6_things_to_know_about_new_buffalo_bills_dt_star_lotulelei.html. Rap Sheet: Bills pursuing Bradford for deal

I don't see anything on Ian Rapaport's twitter about this. Do do we know where/when he supposedly said this? Was it on TV? Just strange he hasn't tweeted anything about this, if it's true. -

I'd actually be really happy with Bradford. He is a very good QB when on the field, and I think he would fit Daboll's system well. His problem has been staying on the field, not poor QB play. -
Anxious to see the contract terms. He definitely fills a big need, and has been extremely reliable in his career so far (only 2 games missed in 5 years IIRC). Seems like a good signing.

For how many years though? How long do do you think all those guys in Jacksonville defense will be able to stay together before big pay days force a lot of that talent out? 3, 4 more years at most? I don't know that the game is changing... this is the first year we've seen anything like that with numerous lower/mid tier QBs make the playoffs. Let's see if that trend continues or if it was just a fluke before we say the game has changed. It seems like most years. Look at this list of the top 10 records of the last 10 years. Almost every single team in the top 10 has a very good franchise QB. https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/gallery/every-nfl-teams-10-year-record-ranked-32-1-010417 Also, I'm not sure the Eagles make it nearly as far as they did if a Foles plays the whole season. He wasn't nearly as good in the regular season when he came in for Wentz. He got hot in the playoffs. We will never know though so it's a moot point. Anyway... That Super Bowl ended up being an amazing shootout between 2 QBs who both played one of the best games of their life. Even with the Eagles great regular season defense, they don't win that game without Foles justbplaying out of his mind good.

Hopefully that'll mean that the Broncos will at least have no interest in trading up for a QB anymore. It'd be even better if they view Keenum as a good enough QB to keep their current window open, decide to pass on a QB at 5 or even trade down, surround him with more talent and go for a SB now. They may view him as good enough to keep their window open (since he did almost take Minnesota to the SB this past season...). Im not sure that Keenum signing makes them pass on a QB at 5 though. We may get a better idea once we see what Keenum's dela looks like...

Ive been thinking about that quite a bit recently, when weighing the merits of trading up vs using all the picks to build the team. The chance to add a bunch of talent through this draft is enticing, but I keep coming back to 1 thought... Which move would make the team a true contender for the next decade? Say we hit on the draft picks and build a strong team that's able to compete with a Tyrod caliber QB - they're able to ride a great defense and some big playmakers on offense... How long are we actually able to keep that team together in this age of the salary cap and big spending in free agency? 4 years maybe? Then everyone will want to get paid and we will start potentially losing many of those quality players. Where as if we hit hit on a true franchise QB who can elevate the play of those around him, we could be a contender year in and out for a long time and that QB could hide a lot of holes that would otherwise need to be filled.

This was a great theory. I heard lots of,people talking about this last year, but it never came to fruition. IMO there really isn't much reason to believe that Glenn or Dawkins could have been our long term RT. Neither have shown an ability to play the right side. Glenn has never really played RT and neither has Dawkins. They tried Dawkins at RT last year and he was worse than Mills. And I know when Rex first got here he had Glenn flipping between LT and RT, and he struggled on the right. IIRC I believe Marrone may have tried Glenn at RT for a short time too (I remember him commenting about how Glenn wasn't happy about it because he wanted to get paid as a LT) but it didn't last long cause Glenn wasn't nearly as good on the right. I think we're better off going after a true RT in free agency or the draft anyway. They tried Dawkins at RT during training camp last year. He never looked comfortable there and struggled so much Mills was outplaying him. Now, has he been given more time to adjust, who knows if he would have been able to lock that spot down. I guess we will never know, but he definitely struggled trying to switch from left to right (he was a LT in college).

Josh Rosen has "Bust" written ALL over him.
BillsFan4 replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He wasn't very good in the first half of that game. That last 20 mins or so was amazing though! I remember that throw you're talking about. There was definitely luck involved that's for sure! Most times that is an interception not a TD. But it was still a brilliant comeback victory. -
Id be nervous giving this guy any type of long term deal. Seems like last year could have just been a flash in the pan. He's had 1 god season in the 6 years since he entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent. Im always leery of QBs with more bad than good on their resume. Especially those with only 1 good season. We've seen plenty of QBs play well for 1 season only to never be able to repeat it. He bounced around practice squads for years and was waived multiple times by 2 different teams. Then lands in a great situation in Minnesota, the starter gets hurt, Keenum goes in and gets hot after a bit of an up-and-down first few games. His resume doesn't exactly scream "pay me big money and term" to me. Id be fine with him as a bridge QB though. Something like a 3 year deal at the very most, with an out after 1 or 2 and then go hard after our long term QB in the draft. Id be fine with most veteran QBs on the market as bridge QBs though if we draft one of the top 3 QBs in this class! lol

That wasn't a highlight reel. It was just 1 game. He went 35-59, with 491 yards and 4 touchdowns. They were down by 34 points near the end of the 3rd quarter. He led 5 straight touchdown drives (of 66 yards or longer) to score 35 unanswered points and win the game. It was the 2nd largest comeback victory in NCAA history. He was absolutely brilliant. I would highly suggest watching the game on YouTube sometime for anyone that's interested (or at least the 3rd and 4th quarters). -

I don't think so. Bills don't have a 6th. They traded their 5th for the Bengals 6th
