The core problem is toxic emissions. 90 million people here in the US live within 30 miles of at least one oil refinery. The toxic air pollution from these refineries among other health related issues can cause cancer. Does it even matter how long it will take once the effort to reduce toxic emissions starts? I personally don't care If it takes 50, 75, even 100 years.

To me Romo comes across as to much of a pushover to take seriously IMO.

Great response Dr. Who, Myself personally, when someone says I have a plan and then gives what appears to be sufficient amount of time to accomplsh and lets say the year 2050 for instance. To me this is really not pushing a false narrative when enough time is given for the transition to take place. Do you think there is anything attractive about working off shore oil rigs? Is it an occupation you think people want to continue doing until retirement? Probably not. I think for change to take place environmentally it does require long term planning and it does need a unified approach from around the world. We breath the same air. Our oceans are all connected. Solar energy, wind turbines, battery powered cars and trucks, the charging stations needed to keep them going . I think new jobs created will far exceed the ones lost in a dying industry IMO. Repairing our nations infrastructure alone creates as many new jobs as we can handle IMO. On the debate itself I feel like Trump did very well when it counted most IMO.

I love the process and the excitement it brings to the Bills
Figster replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo is building through the draft so If you enjoy the process and want more talent. I suggest that you might want to start watching some of the players Buffalo has selected recently like Gabriel Davis. Give some of these young players a chance to develop and prove themselvses and you might find the Buffalo Bills have more talent on the roster then you think. With all due respect PUNT -
I remember the 1st time I went to Matagorda Beach, Texas thinking how beautiful the beaches were there until I stepped into a puddle of oil. I eventually got used to dodging the oil puddles, but my point is Doc people care about their environment. I wouldn't underestimate how much protecting the bodies of water mother nature has given us and air we breath means to people.

When you look at what Josh Allen has done this season in the air the opposition begins to see more and more advantages to winning TOP with a good ground game IMO. To me this was the negative part of McD's strategy to beat KC. Forcing them to run kept our D on the field for long durations getting slowly pounded to death as our O stood on the sideline as spectators. I don't think Buffalo has a choice. We can stop the run or the whole copy cat league will be running the football down our throats IMO.

Here in Corry Pa the few Bills fans I've seen lately seem kind of melancholy IMO. I told a guy wearing a Bills cap one time awhile back I like your hat, go Bills. He gave me a weird look and said my wife got it at a yard sale. I don't follow baseball. Lol, I guess the last two games can do that to a fella...

Dolphins name Tua Tagovailoa starting QB going forward
Figster replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, I think Fitz could do anything he wants to do including waiting for the next chance to start. Mysel f personally, If I was him I might consider how enjoyable it might be working with Gailey in a different capacity. -
YES! CAN WE PLEASE GIVE YELDON SOME TOUCHES!!! Myself personally, the good hands Yeldon could have made the difference in the KC game IMO. Yeldon needs to be utilized as a 3rd down specialist. The running game needs Yeldons change of running style to keep the oppositions D on its heels in my humble opinion. The Bills must see the potential or he wouldn't be here.

Dolphins name Tua Tagovailoa starting QB going forward
Figster replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chan Gailey loves him some Fitzmagic so I have to wonder If the QB change was forced on him. On a side note Fitzpatrick would make a very good coach on the Offensive side of the football. I feel like Tua may offer Fitzy his 1st taste of what it feels like to help coach an elite athlete up into being the best that he can be IMO. (scary thought) I know allot of Fitzpatrick fans are dissapointed for him. On the other hand though Fitz is on the wrong team for us to love the old bearded one the way most of us do so its for the best. My dilemma is learning how to hate Tua now... ( bama fan ) -
Dolphins name Tua Tagovailoa starting QB going forward
Figster replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tua is not a big QB. On the other hand his play may remind some people of a young Russell Wilson. Very poised in the pocket, accuracy off the charts, elusive. Coming from a bama fan, so take it for what its worth... -
What good is talent without structure, good scheming and coaching. What good is talent when your a me guy that does not put yhe betterment of the team 1st. What good is talent without the brains to go with it. Funny think about talent is its normally synonymous with accomplishent from a team perspective. Win a Championship and the team becomes more talented across the board. Browns were used by way of example earlier which on paper have a boatload of talent. No accomplishments. The Buffalo Bills have assembled a group of men that are smart, talented, team oriented, and well coached. The essentiial ingredients of a Championship caliber football team IMO.

I agree on McDermotts ability to get the most out of his players. I think the players love them some McD and love playing for him IMO. Myself personally, I would like to see McD have more involvement with the D. The addition of Diggs and Allen taking the next step puts us light years ahead of last season on O IMO. If Daboll can get the run game going which I feel confident that he can the Buffalo Bills will be very hard to stop IMO.

Thanks for the overall thread reply. I also don't feel like the sky is falling. I feel like Buffalo has just measured itself up with two of the best teams in the NFL. We didn't measure up as well as most of us would have hoped. On the other hand I never had the feeling winning the games were that much out of reach IMO. Both games presented problems by way of preparation and distractions. A healthy Matt Milano is Buffalo's MVP on D in my humble opinion. I think its very possible one or both games have different outcomes with the high motoring Milano giving it everything he has on every play. I think he lifts the team and sets a good example for his teamates that is sorely missed without him IMO. So while I may agree with you on the year of 2021 being the year of the mighty Buffalo. I still think we have allot of time to improve in the process before this season is over IMO.

Difference is LB48 Shaw doesn't get payed to share his observations and point of view. From the Bills side of it what are we going to say about the KC game that was spectacularly different? The clinic Andy Reid showed us running the football down our throat? No The Titans did it last week...

For those trashing Josh Allen a cautionary tale
Figster replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every performance will always be broken down play by play and scrutinized. I don't think you will find very many Bills fans actually trashing Josh Allen who is ranked in the top 5 in the NFL in almost every major category. -
From a passing perspective Allen is ranked 4th in the NFL in yardage 1,711 and 16 TD's Mahomes ranked 5th with 1,699 and 15 TD's Tannehill ranked 19th with 1,368 and 13 TD's Allens weapons relative to the Chiefs and Titans are more productive and scoring more points in the passing game.

Now its upper end talent as in elite. O.K. Something many teams don't have more then one or to of IMO. I feel like Tre White is real close. Allen is elite IMO. Diggs, same thing, borderline or elite. Gabe Davis is coming on real strong for a rookie. They may not be elite, but Smoke and Cole Beasley are really good. Edmunds is really good and still very young at his position. Matt Malino is really good. Sure, we could use more elite talent, who doesn't? ( Besides KC) When you try to build and find it through the draft it takes time. To get an elite WR Buffalo had to give up a pick in the round elite players are drafted. Allen is elite and drafted in the 1st. How many elite players is the Beane regime supposed to have in such a short time?
-
For me, the Josh Allen pick alone has already achieved something no other GM in Buffalo has accomplished in decades. Draft a franchise QB.
-
Not many players drafted turn into a superstar right out of the gate. I think when you hit on one or two a draft you did a good job. Gabe Davis is Beanes big hit on our last draft. Considering the maneuvering Beane did to land Allen and secure Diggs I'm very happy with our Bills GM. Buffalo is looking to draft smart, high character players and I appreciate the thought effort they've put into every draft choice. We have a difference of opinion when it comes to the amount of good talent drafted by Beane.
-
The win would feel hard earned IMO. Making plays at crunch time is part of who Josh Allen is IMO. The forced fumbles are no fluke. Players on D stepping up at crunch time and making plays like their fearless leader IMO. The forced fumble on Kelce was no fluke. The kind of plays I'm sure McD thought our D would make. All part of the game plan. I didn't happen although it almost did. Arguably Buffalo's worse game of the season and an inch and split second away from defeating the defending Champion Chiefs.
-
The Buffalo Bills have plenty of talent IMO.
-
"The Bills must adapt on the fly" I think says it all OP Another one of more football savy patrons made the observation Buffalo lacked size and physicality at the point of attack. Buffalo had become more of a speed , high motor , finesse team and If the play calling didn't match the personnel on the field the end result is what we are seeing. I think he is spot on. This worries me because of the outdoor playing conditions Buffalo faces. So I'm not sure how you fix the problem without some changes in player personnel on the football field. On a side note I'm becoming more and more convinced Matt Milano is the Buffalo Bills MVP on D.

a few thoughts about the Chiefs game, in no particular order
Figster replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another thing about Allen that sets him apart from other QB's when it comes to completion percentage and something the old timer should understand. Josh Allen drives the football down the field. Not allot of this dink and dunk that pads the stats. Down the field. Just like Big Ben and the Steelers 3rd and forever is never enough to stop them. Let them say what they want. The Buffalo Bills have a superstar in the making and the day will come Allen and Mahomes meet again. -
