Everyone who has tested positive and went on to test negative along with being tested for antibodies needs to be well documented and indicated on their drivers license or state ID IMO. God forbid a future 2nd wave of the virus should occur proper documentation and tracking through the next pandemic will give us valuable information. Men and woman who have developed antibodies could play a critical role in many ways going into the future IMO and just like that my fan fruit ripe for the pickings could be back in business. I'm not sure why anyone who has previously tested positive for Covid 19 and gotten over it wouldn't make for a safe fan in the stands IMO. If you think about it finding enough safe fans to fill up the stands might not be that hard to do by the time playoffs get here. Hell, it might not be that hard to do right now. The well saturated state of Florida's teams should be golden. Along with Arizona, Texas , New York, California all good states to find safe fans ripe for the pickings. I'm just saying...

Almost 5 and a half million confirmed cases with less then 2 million of them recoverd and at this rate we could easily see that number hit 10 million by December. Almost doubling the amount of deaths we have right now. Staggering numbers. I'll agree with the President on one thing. All the Doctors and nurses standing on the front lines of this fight are doing an incredible job. May God bless and protect them all. I also think the job being done to develop and test a new vaccine ASAP is nothing short of incredible. You bring a good argument shoshin, but there's always two sides to a story. Losing loved ones young or old is enough to make many people consider suicide IMO. Over 170,000 loved ones gone and growing. I can't think of a greater loss. Or a greater pressure then trying to protect the one's you love and care for IMO. My original estimation ( 320,000 lives lost) and slow spread of the virus I predicted/feared earler in the thread is right on track unfortunately. (page 97) To many mixed signals from leadership. Not enough unity to accomplish anything substantial, except possibly slow the spread, which has now backfired on us IMO. I get your points and again you bring a good argument

Absolutely Contact tracing isn't accomplishing squat in my neck of the woods...( IMO ) I'm more worried about my neighbors children running up to me or my 82 year old mom ( with underlying hea'lth conditions) while we're in our yard. I'm considering the small droplets that will carry longer distantces in the wind. I'm considering lightning, hail, sun protection, bee's and everything else mother nature can throw at you. Where do you take them all when a storm comes? Or its 90 degrees out? Or better yet, snowing?

Not only when it rains. Wind and early studies indicate air pollution may help carry Covid 19 greater distances. Wind would expand the safe social distancing IMO. (If your parked down wind of a carrier) I think its easier to control and provide a safer environment indoors where air flow can be filtered and manipulated.

I'm not for public schools opening back up to protect the teachers and all the senior citizens that could be put in harms way because of it. I will say this though, with a good testing program in place it could help weed out and quarantine a big part of the population that is walking the streets with Covid 19 IMO. You can take NFL football games and with a fast method of testing accomplish the same thing. Dog sniffers, temp check, the whole works. Take saliva samples from each ticket holder. You could also perform a real time in depth study of how Covid is transmitted in large gatherings IMO. Some of you guys may have seen my idea in another thread. Sounds to time consuming and complicated right? Or is it? I know more than one person right now that has symptoms of Covid 19 and is not reporting it. If it can happen in my small town its happening everywhere. So what do you do? Covid 19 hotline needed perhaps?

To answer your question, I think everything is working in conjunction in NY and there is no right or wrong answer here. My home state of PA is starting to cool off without a 2nd spike in hard hit areas. PA reported 384 total new cases on monday, zero deaths. You will have clusters of people who are less active, individually and within the groups they entertain that don't offer up the same kind of resistance as more active groups of people IMO. Not seeing a 2nd spike in most of the earlier hotspots that have since cooled off I think points in that direction in my humble opinion Hapless. Myself personally, the hard hit city and state of NY is a good example. As far as evidence goes the viewpoints on what kind of percentages it takes to achieve herd immunity vary. Our positive case load walking the streets could be up to 10 times higher then reported. My personal opinion is based on observation. It appears through observation herd immunity is already occuring in parts of our country and around the world IMO.

On the subject of herd immunity it does appear we might be seeing signs of this developing in hard hit regions of the country IMO. Our saving grace perhaps...

How about whats fair to the teachers? Or all the senior citizens who are going to die because someone had the bright idea to throw fuel on the fire by packing our younger generation into buildings and classrooms? 6 weeks in comparison to months of this?
