  1. I want every bills player to succeed But I'm starting to think Bass might be a lost cause... He certainly has talent... But... Unless he was really injured last year Something mentally was off... Because he certainly has the yips... Which you can't get in the NFL
  2. Cream rising to the top is certainly an overstatement... There are plenty of quarterbacks that have been ruined David Carr was much better than Derek Carr coming out... It's not even close But David went to an expansion franchise that rattled his brain and ruined him Quarterbacks learning from the bench has never been a bad thing in the NFL... It's the one position that does not need live repetitions to get better Tony Romo sitting on the bench for 3-4 years completely turned his career around and helped him turn into a borderline Hall of famer... If he got thrown to the fire as a rookie he's out of the league in 2 years But Jerry Jones took 4 years developing him and he has 30,000 yards and 200 touchdowns Taking care of quarterbacks is the biggest thing in professional sports... Way more are broken than made You could never convince me Tom Brady is Tom Brady... If he didn't get Bill belichick and to sit behind Drew bledsoe He's not Tom Brady if he goes to Atlanta lol Situations and development is Paramount to any NFL player.. Sam darnold had tons of talent but I knew he was ruined the second he was going to New York Justin Fields had tons of talent and I knew he was ruined the second he was going to Chicago.. because they haven't developed a quarterback in 30 years Justin fields in Seattle could get developed by Pete Carroll
  3. I've been around division one and professional kickers for 30 years Seen them kicking practice, warm ups and game time I've seen plenty of kickers kick from one yard or 3 yard or 5 yard starts... It's certainly possible What it does do is change the trajectory and muscle memory of kickers... Which is a fickle position that is prone to mental lapses Tyler bass can take 60 yards on one leg stride... But he's struggling to hit from 52... In NFL circumstances with a walk-up Going off of 5 yards or 4 yards will do nothing but mess up his stride and gait Without pressure or rushers he can hit 60 yards off of one step... You don't realize how much pressure and strain rushers coming off the edge create And the difference between getting a kick eight feet over the center's head... Versus 5 ft... 5 ft is getting blocked... 8 ft is clearing the best blocker Moving in two yards creates infinitely more blocks.. and strain on the kicker... This is not like 4th down analytics This has been practiced
  4. Circumstances, and coaching and development are certainly the biggest parts of how young quarterbacks develop Now I'm not saying Sam darnold was destined to be a Hall of famer... But going to the Jets certainly hindered his development They have developed like 1 quarterback in 60 years... They do not understand how to treat a quarterback.. they throw them to the fires and watch them suffer Even McDermott tried to sit Allen behind Peterman because it's logically the best thing for any professional quarterback... It helped Rogers, it helped Brady, it helped Eli and Philip Rivers Sitting and learning the professional game has never hurt any quarterback... Getting thrown to the fire has hurt more than it's helped If you could survive being thrown to the fire you will be all right... But destroys more And the Jets have been a dumpster fire for the majority of their history
  5. I know you're joking but you just made the best case for why it doesn't happen Kickers are serious mental cases They have the biggest yips in football.. now you want to take away a decade of their habits
  6. Syracuse could have made a run if they got in.. They have three tremendous guards in everybody knows March madness is run through guard play We don't have big men... But I don't think we're that far off from making a run William Patterson could change that next year
  7. Because it is the best system Parody is real... Hooking up 8-8 teams and giving them potential superstars... Isn't fair to a team that won three games The difference between college and the pros is your brand and finances... Can't buy a player until he hits free agency A draft pick has four years minimum of loyalty... Which is why parody is real You hit on three or four draft picks in one draft... You are going to be a different franchise in a few years Rewarding mediocrity in pro sports in not the way ... The NFL is so popular because the Texans can go from bottom 10 to playoffs... The jaguars can go from last place... To a team that won a playoff game recently
  8. As I told you earlier... There are hundreds of field goals that are within inches of being blocked You're talking about moving it back 6 ft.. 6 ft is a lot more than a few inches Yes 39 yarder is easier than a 41 yarder... But again you're not taking in the angle of the kick Tyler bass had a lot of kicks that were close to being blocked last year... Put him six feet closer and he's having a lot more blocked It's an extreme improbability because professional coaches have worked out the best spot to kick the ball from... Even one yard up will create a lot more blocks around the league
  9. The amount of blocked kicks will offset the percentage So many kicks are just a couple of inches away from being blocked.. moving it up those two yards will result in a lot more blocks The kicker would have to change the angle of his kick which would also affect his kicking ability
  10. Breece hall wasn't even a first round pick... And I certainly wouldn't draft him in the first And the rest of the league didn't
  11. Piss poor tackling on the hill screen.. is the reason... Tackle him at 10 yards and they don't make the field goal
  12. Homicide isn't a crime A homicide can be a legal and justified killing , like self defense... It just means killing of a person ... Could be legal and justified or not Murder would be an illegal killing
  13. I think he could play in the A10 or conference USA all squarely ahead of maac It's tough for a udnerclassmens offensive game to develop sometimes when they aren't always part of the script... Judah was day 1 pg with basically unlimited trust.. trust builds confidence Chris Bell has the green light and is an NBA caliber shooter.. so that's another person getting looks Then JJ is a former five-star guy who is going to get plays drawn up before him Then quadir off the bench had the ball and his number Practice only helps so much.. you need the reps in game to gain confidence and your form back sometimes But the touches aren't there... I think he would look better at a mid major... But higher than maac... That's honestly full of unranked recruits.. 2* guys ... Some 3* He was a high major 4*.. he's going to land at a better conference
  14. That's an easy fix Don't call it unless it's blatantly obvious... If you're debating if it's a hip drop tackle it probably is not... Because there is a certain look and devastating element to the tackle The league never said this is a humongous problem that exists during every play or all the time.. they said it is a rare type of tackle that occasionally happens that is very dangerous and they want to penalize it They can't go from 1% of tackles to calling it seven times a game on a penalty.. this is to stop the few players in the league who are dangerous tacklers It doesn't happen every game so they can't call it every game or yes it is out of hand.. nobody is saying you can't tackle a player from behind
  15. I certainly don't work for the league office We will see... If they're calling four of these a game and making them weak calls... Then you're right NFL officials do not abuse every single rule in the book... There are so many obscure rules that are never used or barely You may be right but I think this is going to be one of those obscure calls that only gets called occasionally because the stats support it... And since we're in the day of social media it becomes Hot topic If this was 1975 this wouldn't of even been a footnote during the off season... This is no different than making horse collar illegal Of which there was only 15 horse collar calls throughout the entire NFL and all its hundreds of games last year Certainly not an abused penalty
  16. You can't over call a penalty that happens once every game If they started calling five a game.. the league would go back and review it and change the rule They're not looking to control the game more... This is a real player safety issue where this tackle has almost a 25x injury rate compared to a standard tackle It's a devastating tackle that has been used to injure people on purpose in the game... Because you know it breaks legs and ankles
  17. I think his development has just been hindered He had like 10 high major scholarships including North Carolina and Florida and Virginia and Indiana and NC st I certainly don't think he's a maac level guy which are like two star players
  18. This shows why it's not going to have an impact It is.. by all definitions not a standard tackle... When they reviewed it they realized it's less than 1% of tackles It's extremely rare and done with intent.. professionals who have been playing for over a decade choose to tackle this way... It doesn't happen on accident Usually to cause injury.. It will not cause five more flags a game... It's definitely going to be a rare flag because it's not a standard tackle It's not like holding which happens every play and they choose when to throw it based on the impact it has... You can go an entire NFL game without seeing a real hip drop tackle
  19. The one thing to me that really sets Syracuse apart like North Carolina and such Is how in-house they are.. I love the Syracuse family And how coaches become players and are always a part of the family I really hope red doesn't start bringing in non Orangemen Even if that's a selfish thing... As to Peter Carey I think the injuries did hurt him like you said but he definitely has some talent.. I think sienna would be perfect for him
  20. He was always going to be a head coach one day.. so it was just a matter of time of time Maybe they can bring back devo
  21. I don't know if he was really ever gonna crack the line up
  22. The Chiefs win a few super bowls and people think they're destined to win 10 LOL After Tom Brady got his quick first three he didn't get another for a decade I'd be willing to bet Patrick mahomes isn't winning any more super bowls anytime soon The Chiefs are played out.. and it's tough to keep motivation
