He is the Bruce Smith of hockey Longevity with consistent production and people feared him -
Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
Buffalo716 replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes he's under contract 100% And he's not threatening a holdout he just wants a big contract In my opinion you run him into the ground and get a compensation pick next year -
Who are the most overrated and underrated Bills?
Buffalo716 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cook is Chris Johnson lite I loved the pick on draft and envisioned this certainly once he got his shot He has tremendous vision and is a natural runner... Still have trepidation about paying him 15 million FYI his house in Buffalo is for sale so I think he knows he's gone -
Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
Buffalo716 replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're not going to get much for him because what you just said He's literally asking for big contract.. so whatever team trades for him is going to have to give up assets and a big contract That's going to drive down his price substantially -

He was shooting steroids on his weiner? -
Is that a travel or double dribble Either way it would have been a foul if he touched the ball It would have been a foul

Bills and McGovern discussing contract extension?
Buffalo716 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't get what people are hoping for out of a fifth round short-armed center We literally have a better one right now... Svgp is squarely a guy who needed development Why is everybody so eager to throw a fifth round pick out there to play when we have better people on the line Our center is bigger stronger, longer, has NFL experience.. like I wouldn't be trying to get rid of him... And as I said Alec Anderson has played C, G and T .. was the most valuable sixth offensive lineman last year in the NFL He's getting a crack at C or G before svgp rn -

Didn't even realize TJ was that high He definitely has a chance if he stays healthy The key is 12 sack seasons past 35 -
Who is the best Corner in Bills history?
Buffalo716 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
the not liking to tackle was also a little overblown... Like he was so physical his first couple of years he would have been out of the league after 5 if he didn't change his play style a little bit Like he was cracking tight ends and running backs his first couple years... He was playing hurt He had a collision with Eddie Lacy.. early in his career , mind you, Eddie Lacey was the biggest running back in the NFL at the time.. over 255 No corners back in the day we're taking him on head on.. and Gilmore full speed collided with Lacey so hard they both were slow to get up he certainly lost that after that -

Because they did have four down defensive sets where Bruce was playing wide Only when they were lined up in the base was Bruce playing inside .. he did line up outside the tackle too Myles Garrett is the only one with a shot -
Who is the best Corner in Bills history?
Buffalo716 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was massively underrated here though People called him a bum consistently throughout his career but I always was clamoring that Gilmore was a All-Pro on a bad team One great corner doesn't make or break a team but he wasn't the reason we were bad.. I certainly did think he was a top corner even with the bills who got a bad rep Like I'm not putting a rank on him one through five but he was a stud here.. he played with a club.. people used to question his toughness and he played with a broken hand lol -
Bills and McGovern discussing contract extension?
Buffalo716 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
He has a long road to crack the starting center job anyways 15 years ago when the bills were awful sure we can draft a fifth round pick or a six-round pick and we had to play him because we were bad... He's probably third at the center cracking order rn behind McGovern and I think Alec Anderson gets a crack there first of McGovern isn't re-signed He doesn't have the length to be a guard.. svgp Alec Anderson who is the most valuable sixth offensive lineman in the NFL last year is the guy getting groomed everywhere.. he has played center guard and tackle And certainly is going to be given a shot at center if we don't re sign McGovern That's my prediction -
They have a great fan base When I went down there it was the only place that reminded me of a buffalo tailgate Friendly people, they offered food and drinks... They were passionate but friendly I really don't have anything bad to say about the people of KC

Might need a reservation too I put Lucias in the seafood, but they also have a mean tomahawk and overall great food Ebenezer ale House for some food and drinks and great wings too! West Seneca Brightsmith brewery in williamsville awesome place for food and drinks So many great places

Yeah I know I did spread him out lol but the Buffalo region is pretty condensed From my house I can probably hit all of those spots at the closest in 3 to 5 minutes.. the furthest drive for me would probably be hoaks or jays artisan.. and I can still probably get there in 20 minutes So if you're traveling in the area these are probably all accessible within 10 to 20 minutes Jays artisan was named top the 8th best pizzeria in the country

I see way more Buffalo Bills gear in Buffalo then there were people wearing Cleveland browns gear in Cleveland Sure Buffalo is a smaller City but it's definitely like Alabama for its craziness with football .. it is like an SEC town with sports People say goodbye in Buffalo by saying go bills.. like when you're walking down the street you don't say have a good day you say go bills that's pretty omnipresent But I do get your point we are a small city

I think he's a stud I don't think he's in the Barkley , Henry , territory 30 carries a hundred yards against Penn State kind of dropped his stock slightly in my eyes .. like I don't think he's a guaranteed 10,000 yard rusher in the NFL And if you're taking a kid top ten you're definitely looking for years of production which is always scary with running backs

Dude phone speakers don't pick up everything .. it ain't the first time on this site.. it doesn't pick up there their they're and stuff which I actually just typed out.. it doesn't pick up lots of stuff especially when you talk like a fast New Yorker They do get paid And they weren't allowed to play ncaa because they got paid.. some of these kids were getting $20,000 10 years ago That's not even the back door paying stars get I'm not calling them professionals.. they are 16 to 20-year-old kids.. the way they are trained away from home during the time period is definitely professional.. and they did receive pay, more back in the day than now but still paid That's why they were not allowed to play NCAA hockey for the last 30 years -

I speak into my phone so it doesn't always pick up my words correctly.. it was supposed to be $5,000 which if you look I actually changed it I didn't actually realize it's at $50,000 till this morning but qmjhl... Which the players were suing in the last 3 to 5 years Over agers .. 20-year-olds.. we're getting $20,000 before 2014... $550 a week Now over agers get 4-7k That's still money to play hockey with all expenses paid.. and you also get four or five years in juniors You can still make 10,000 plus dollars playing major junior hockey in your career... Which most kids are paying $30k to play junior A or B over the same 5-year period Paying $30,000 to play hockey.. versus actually making some money while having all expenses paid The kids should be making more actually compared to what the owners are making... The players are well well well below minimum wage
