Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills
Buffalo716 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's true but Jalen hurts significantly struggles to throw the ball outside the numbers compared to Josh Allen so it's a give take I do believe if Sean McDermott was given better wide receivers he would be willing to throw the ball more just not been given that so he wants to keep his job and that's running one of the best running backs in the AFC... And then letting the most talented player in the NFL make some plays around that That's a pretty safe bet to get into the playoffs... Follow your best two players It has looked uneven, herky jerky, out of place.... But I've seen Tom Brady's offenses look this way after 6 or 7 weeks of the regular season and he got it on track Keyword he.. not his offensive coordinator... Not his quarterback coach.. Brady would take the bull by the horn There's pieces here where there is an offense that could be put in place that is tough to stop... Josh needs to finally please Lord he's my favorite player.. take the reigns... Command meeting rooms command film study command the game planning... Joe Brady's job depends on Josh so he should embrace what Josh says he needs in the coming weeks game plan wise Eagles are the team where Brown is not getting the ball and he's unhappy and he wants to leave because Hurts can't get him the ball on schedule consistently... Hurts has struggled at that since college Showing that even the Super bowl champions can have a wide receiver unhappy.. and a quarterback who is very scheme dependent Brady needs to be more Josh Allen friendly -

Or Brady is operating within the restrictions based on the personnel of the Buffalo Bills We tried being a heavy Air attack with Dorsey.. the offense was bogged down and diggs did not look the same as in the past So they structured everything around this run first offense... But in that transition they've lost a bunch of fluidity in the pass game It's a massive difference to structure the pass game around a spread 3-4 wide receiver personnel.. and a two tight end system under center You have to make do with what you have on the season... Brady needs to watch film on how teams stretch the field on two three tight end personnel That would open up every part of our offense if he could get our tight ends running down the seams We obviously don't have the spread personnel LSU had in Joe burrows Heisman season ... But he should be able to bring some of those concepts to the bills -

Josh is more of a leadership by example guy He definitely can get troops riled up .. has shown he can.. he would get me riled up But he's more lead by example follow My lead.. I work hard I practice hard I train hard.. you follow my lead He has earned the right like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning to chew into teammates occasionally from the right place... Not scream at somebody's face cuz they dropped the football but you can do it for effort level he has earned the right to hold players accountable That's the last step to Josh becoming the best ever... Because they won't respect it from a lot of people but they will respect it from Josh

He literally was the passing game coordinator of the greatest passing game in college football history Something has to be off... Sure the weapons might not be able to replicate the LSU passing offense But you think he could come up with some wrinkles -
God bless all the soldier's on TBD

Yes because John Brown's Cole Beasley stefon diggs Gabe Davis's Khalil shakir's careers all died in Buffalo -
Josh hasn't had that fire in years at this point Not saying it's good or bad.. he's a professional he does most of his rah rah speeches not in front of cameras But this is a part that he has not shown in a while.. and it would be nice to get it back But that's on Josh Allen

Were We Running Into a Stacked Box?
Buffalo716 replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's why running on a stacked box is about execution You get hats on hats with a guy like cook who shoots through a hole and he's not far from being one-on-one with one guy between him and the end zone -
Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
Buffalo716 replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah but that would be in two drafts A savvy move though but not a 2026 3rd round pick -

No it's probably due to not enough time to actually physically tackle in practice They're in the NFL.. so people think that they should have that down to a science Not realizing that not consistently practicing tackling, make your tackling worse... These guys rarely tackle during practice week during the season So their form and constant conditioning to Big impacts is down from what it was 20 years ago... Once the season starts they are rarely tackling in practice -

The amount of practice time they get to actually practice tackling Been down across the league for a decade because of the CBA and how little they can do contact practice Compare that to like Nick Saban at Alabama who's practices would be tougher than 90% of their games.. you don't see tackling problems -

Yes if you can block up that 8-man box a guy like cook doesn't need much room to operate Everybody just needs to execute though -
Were We Running Into a Stacked Box?
Buffalo716 replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Running game comes down to the fronts that you're being shown ..whether you're in a zone or gap blocking scheme the front or the shift of the defensive line can change your assignment Throughout practice since training camp their gap or zone blocking schemes adjust based on the shift of the defensive line or how they're aligned If the dolphins were throwing some looks that they haven't really prepared for.. It could throw off their execution.. the line is a symbiotic unit It's five+ people working as one... If they're all not seeing the same thing it could leave it slightly discombobulated Now that it's on tape they can go to the film room and tell the O line this is how you have to execute against this front... There could be a lot of reasons there not executing to full potential.. my father instantly was talking about the heat and how it's a different animal -

Buffalo716 replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
8 years of Josh Allen says you can't do it consistently.. this was the dolphins Super bowl We are at the point where for years the bills get every team's best effort... Let alone a division rival who has taken a backseat to Josh Allen Fire general manager coach on the hot seat.. this literally was the dolphins Super bowl Considering NFL players adapt.. strictly putting eight people in the box all the time will not work because Josh Allen will make you pay historically Just didn't happen against the dolphins If the bills had Mac Jones at quarterback that might work more consistently -
Were We Running Into a Stacked Box?
Buffalo716 replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering the bills face eight man box is only 5% of the time it is not typical Just because the dolphins were successful doesn't mean 31 other teams can do the same thing with their personnel versus the bills The parity in the NFL is real... And now the bills can have things on tape to practice to counter that defense -

Yes that would be a good signing -
Were We Running Into a Stacked Box?
Buffalo716 replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because you can't do that consistently against Josh Allen Our wide receivers who are still NFL players will make some plays to not let you do that more often than that There's a reason why nobody puts eight plus in the box consistently versus the bills.. it's because Josh will abuse it typically The entire offense was disjointed for most of the game -
