OT: what did you think of the hit on Lawrence?
Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess my point was whether you're a person who thinks the hit is dirty.. or whether you don't think it's dirty... Its moot The NFL deems it an illegal hit so my opinion is irrelevant But on that Dalton hit I showed... Bostic was ejected but not suspended and I think that was as bad as the hit the other day He literally used his helmet as a weapon The NFL thought it was bad enough for an ejection but not suspension Maybe because one was first overall Trevor Lawrence.. and the other was getting old and now back up Andy Dalton And your good beck always like chatting! -
Antonio Brown says a little girl thrown down stairs at Bills??
Buffalo716 replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's just still seems strange Bills fans while passionate, are absolutely known to be good hosts and certainly not beat up children The articles on WKBW make it sound like a drunk Bills fan was screaming to the world I'm going to Chuck snowballs at niners fans and push them down the stairs Yet I don't believe other grown men around that would ever let a man start pushing children Now the family's talking about wanting to change the atmosphere of Bills games.. Yet it is very family-friendly opposed to 20 years ago -

Yea know I wake up to 38 notifications because everybody wants to get in on my hot take But I really don't want to discuss this much anymore and I've said my peace down the thread When we played the dolphins weeks ago everybody was ready to call Jordan poyer a dirty player.. for the hit on Coleman.. years of Goodwill just instantly goes right to this guy as a scumbag dirty player He did also launch into a defenseless player That's also a penalty that happens in football and I'm not going to crucify Jordan poyer It happens in football Even in this one jacked up segment from which they praise.. there are multiple head hunting and launching and defenseless players Things that would be penalties or ejections today Yes the game changes... But I'm not going to call any of those hits in that video dirty because they were part of the game... If they happen on Sunday they're going to be a flag but it happens in football What happened to Trevor Lawrence is unfortunate but it does happen in football.. sliding quarterbacks do get jacked up.. whether you want to say it's dirty or not .. it is what it is... It certainly is a penalty now You can call it dirty but it does happen Andy Dalton gets his head taken off.. it happens to sliding quarterbacks unfortunately... That hit is also pure helmet to helmet and Bostic was ejected but it's not the first or last time you'll see it What is completely out of the realm of football is taking off your helmet and trying to beat someone with it.. I would consider that more serious than a play on the field -

Yeah but the difference is we're on a message board full of opinions And I've been here a long time and I give everybody a lot of respect while bringing a lot to the table for conversation And I may occasionally spell a word wrong , or not have the best grammar... Because you know I have so many concussions Or I might even have a bad take But I really do try to respect every single person and I'm willing to have good back and forth with anybody and that's why I come to the site Because outside of the other coaches or scouts that I'm around I can't get good football conversation anywhere but here So yeah I might have cte but the one thing I still understand is football I know I'm in the minority on the take but I'm also remaining civil and not just freaking out on everybody -

And this is for all the people thinking I don't listen to people or that I will die on a hill Certainly there is no guideline for what truly is considered dirty or not .. it is all of our opinions But the one person who's opinion I care about most... My father who coached for 40 years I called him and asked for his opinion and he said it should be a 4 game suspension while laying out all of his reasons Now even if I didn't completely agree with everything he said I do agree that the majority of people feel it was really bad I may be in the minority and I may have a hard head but I do see everybody's point and I have always respected everybody -

I'm not going to argue When I saw it I literally screamed holy s*** It was a massive hit.. growing up the son of a coach I just have seen dirtier so that's not the first thing that came to my mind Though it's certainly is a suspendible offense according to the rules and I hope no NFL quarterback has to take that That hit will literally take a couple years off your life -

I did say originally I did not think it was dirty.. and I followed up with it is within the game Within the game meaning you could see it happen 3 years ago 5 years ago 10 years ago 20 years ago 50 years ago between the whistles It's not something that just magically started happening... Sliding players have been getting blown up for a long time You could see it in 1970 1980 1990 2000 etc... Helmet to helmet hits is a part of the game and still happens on every play.. helmets cling every play.. and it's now a penalty to use your crown as a weapon... It's a penalty Penalties are a part of the game This whole time I've been differentiating real game day penalties between the whistle... Like this unfortunate late hit... Versus something like McMahon getting dropped on his head after the whistle.. also a penalty , but not within the whistle of the game Will a quarterback get hit while sliding again .. yes... Because it happens ... And the league can now discipline it however they want, but it will happen again Going outside the whistle of the game and dropping a guy on his head is completely not within the realm of the game -

I don't really watch Jacksonville so I don't really know their injury history But certainly every single player on that field knows who is banged up and who is not.. attacking people who are not at 100% is kind of the easiest way to attack a game You don't go out there best player who's healthy.. you attack the weak link who's banged up -

Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's a difference between what comes with the game.. injuries.. it affects 100% Versus willingly going out and trying to injure your opponent viciously... It's one thing if you know their corner has a bum hammy... So you attack him on the field because you know he lost some burst... or a wide receiver playing with broken ribs so you hit him hard to make him rethink things... You make them make a business decision Every single NFL player knows what they're signing up for.. potential lifelong pain due to football injuries That's different than the player who goes out with the intent to seriously hurt other players just too, which doesn't have a part and it never has Are there some Conrad doublers? Yes... They don't belong in football -
Antonio Brown says a little girl thrown down stairs at Bills??
Buffalo716 replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most Bills fans would whoop the s*** out of anybody that would hurt a kid We even put away team colors for stuff like that It takes a really low, piss poor man to purposely knock a girl down steps There's 40,000 drunk Bills fans every week and 1,000 kids wearing other team's jerseys and they don't get tossed down the stairs... City of good neighbors Until the Buffalo Bills talk about what happened .. it probably was a sad accident Any guy I know if they saw a grown man push a girl down stairs... Would instantly handle it and so would 100 fans around... Bill's fans aren't cheering beating up a little girl wearing an opposing teams Jersey There's definitely a lot to this story that we haven't heard.. because if a man threw a little girl down the stairs he would be in jail -

I'm not a woe is me guy lol I could give two s**** about what any of you guys think at the end of the day... You have opinions and I have opinions But I do respect everybody's opinion here I don't go here and spam skeptical faces on post I don't like .. I don't call out posters I don't like I'm willing to have conversations with everybody and I don't judge people by their opinions FYI everybody does not disagree because there's people in this thread that did agree -

What are you talking about? I agreed with @GunnerBill that I was confusing premeditation with intention But then you said I'm willing to die on that hill but I agree with him I just didn't go right to the words dirty for the play.. it was a violent play and a penalty.. unnecessary I just didn't go right to dirty and then 15 people ganged up on me I think your Hill to die on is just trying to oppose me ... Because I agree with Gunner bill on his point -
OT: what did you think of the hit on Lawrence?
Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unlike most people here I actually listen to other people and I have no problem with other people's opinions I don't attack people just for their opinions like people like to try to gang up on me Maybe if you didn't cherry pick you know I actually agreed.. I just didn't go right to the word dirty because this has happened for a hundred years unfortunately I'm football... I did agree with him saying I confused premeditation and intention What do you want me to say I literally said it was unnecessary, I said it was a penalty .. I said I do not think it's good for the game I just did not go right to the word dirty.. there's a lot of other words you could use.. like unnecessary If you guys want to gang up on me cuz I just don't say dirty lmao unfortunately this does happen in football it's not the first or the last time -

Yes , absolutely Quarterbacks have the right to protection on the field , I never said they shouldn't It was a cut and dry penalty -

There have definitely been a decent amount of QBs knocked out from sliding the last 5-10 years in college and the pros It doesn't happen every week It all started with Trent greene 15 20 years ago @FireChans I don't know what your eye rolling because I was basically agreeing it doesn't happen every week But in the last decade there are a good amount of circumstances.. more than just two or three -

I'll accept that People are acting like I'm sitting here cheering the big hit.. I'm not I just didn't go right to the word dirty -

Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I said for the most part There's obviously some psychopaths... But it is a fraternity These guys hang out with each other in the off seasons and their families hang out.. it's a very small fraternity of NFL players It would be an extremely extremely extremely small minority who go out with intent to injure... Colleges will kick a kid off of a program if he continually is dirty Football is violent but that doesn't mean there's not an insane amount of respect between coaches and players Greg Williams and bounty gate is the minority... And he's sick -
OT: what did you think of the hit on Lawrence?
Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Again.. football is still my job I defend players and coaches for the most part.. it's a fraternity I don't know the guy and I don't know his football history enough to judge him... If somebody could pull up weeks and weeks of tape of him being dirty I have no problem admitting it But in a fast game where stuff does happen like this unfortunately... I don't like to think that people a part of this fraternity would just want to hurt people ... Yes Conrad doublers exist I don't think there's more than probably a couple of them in the league -
OT: what did you think of the hit on Lawrence?
Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
The media is not defending it There are plenty of coaches who will never give an opinion because it doesn't mean anything to them There are dozens of NFL coaches you'll never hear from on this.. dozens of assistant coaches.. hundreds of division 1 coaches They'll keep it to themselves Nobody is parading around saying great hit for football.. I have given multiple examples of extremely dirty plays in football To show that there are levels to dirty.. and this is basically at the bottom rung It's not taking off a helmet and trying to beat someone with it... It's not going behind a player picking him up and slamming him on his head after the whistle It was within the whistle and an illegal play according to the rules... That does not mean it's the dirtiest thing I've ever seen And I don't think the guy went into the game trying to kill Trevor Lawrence -
OT: what did you think of the hit on Lawrence?
Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Perhaps I am But my point is that quarterbacks sliding do unfortunately get taken out.. this isn't the first time it's happened and it won't be the last He's not the first or last player to do that... And we're talking about husbands and fathers Most football players do not want to injure anybody -
OT: what did you think of the hit on Lawrence?
Buffalo716 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are plenty of football players who have taken piss poor angles .. lead with their helmets etc over the years The play is happening a lot faster than what people are making it seem.. sure did he lead with a forearm yes In a game of milliseconds I don't think he's thinking I'm going to throw up my forearm and take his head off.. I just think it happened .. I've hit plenty of people with my helmet over the years in a bang bang play and I never thought I'm going to lead with my helmet... It just happens occasionally I think he did it without thinking... It happened I don't think he planned it The difference is dirty players go out with the intent to be dirty all the time.. I don't know this guy good enough and I don't watch his film to know what type of guy he is But the speed of the game is immense and at the end of the day you're talking about raising his forearm in a millisecond decision... If he was clocking dudes heads all day I can see intent But he literally had milliseconds Not 3 seconds -

I've seen the hit... It's all so not as cut and dry as everybody is making it seem It was a very very fast play and yeah he did lead with his forearm
