No I said I think it's a two or three year project as a inline blocker But he has the traits... Which is mostly effort and intensity Which could show up in some packages... He will never be the blocker dawson is -

Listen I'm not trying to say he's going to like the world on fire But with his effort and intensity he will do whatever job the Bill's ask him to do There's some tight ends in the league who don't have effort blocking... Those guys are lost causes.. he brings high effort and he's not afraid of contact which is promising That Alone will get some results... A 2-3-year project as a blocker but again... The effort will make it happen Because TEs blocking is all about effort -

Every single scout I've met that ever watched him live came away with a different opinion.. then the pregame norei Sucking means you can't do it... He will be able to block some people in the NFL There's a massive difference between sucking at something and being modest... Again he's not even the worst blocking tight end drafted Suck is a one out of 10 He even showed he could pass block some... Not that we're going to ask him to do that much But he did everything he was asked of... He didn't fail -

There's a reason why scouts put the word in there... They could easily say nuanced route runner ... But they add smooth or fluid because he moves well... It's a million times better than moving clunky No gloves nick o Leary... Opposite of smooth/fluid mover No coach wants somebody who runs like a robot... Being a fluid athlete is a bonus... At offensive tackle , WR or DB or TE There's a reason why that word has been in football vocabulary for a hundred years...replace smooth with fluid Everybody wants a fluid athlete on the football field -
Long answer, no.. especially of they keep elam for his contract Benford was obviously under drafted because Villanova.. he's like the 5th player drafted from there in 20 years Even if he was at University at Buffalo he probably would have been a top 4 rounder

And obviously being smooth doesn't mean you're going to be a great football player .... But when you watch somebody who does everything so effortlessly... The way he moves, and breaks off a route .. his gait Smooth is a million times better than clunky -

When I was watching him in Utah... One word that kept crossing my mind was smooth lol And I wanted him -
I'm all for drafting the big uglies We just seem to take the wrong ones recently

There are plenty of line coaches who say it takes 5 to 7 years to develop a tackle fully... Tristan wirfs is the best RT in the league and he is still getting better .. hell peak at 28-29 Nobody is a finished product.... Absolutely even the best tackles peak around 28-29-30... Not at 25.. then decline at like 32-33 And as a long time scout I've known who Van Demark is... Just because you're an undrafted free agent doesn't mean you can't have high upside? Jason Peters hello He is insanely raw... But you look for traits with offensive tackles He has the prototype size for a LT... He has long arms ... He can move, good athlete, a good punch and he's a blind side protector... I knew scouts who were trying to get him drafted in the 7th round He has good explosion too He was a low floor high ceiling guy which is why he went undrafted.. but there were definitely rumblings he could get drafted He has a lot of potential down the road

Sucks is way too strong of a word... I traveled to Utah to watch him play and he certainly wasn't as bad as you make it out He is a willing blocker, with good aggressiveness... That alone makes it modest.. blocking is all effort He's not afraid of contact, and it's something that's easily improvable He wasn't even the worst blocking tight end drafted... Not close So I can't say he sucks because that's way too harsh.. he's going to be blocking this year in some sets He has modest potential and he tries hard He won't be moving people but he can keep a hat on them and he's good in space Every single scout that saw him live came away with a better impression of his blocking skills then before because he has effort -
The bills drafted Cody Ford to play tackle in the 2nd... Busted out.... McDermott took Dawkins .... Then they took Spencer brown in the 3rd... Tommy Doyle the same draft Then Luke Tenuta ... Signed Darryl Williams , queesenberry ... Van demark a high upside Tackle is a position that needs reps... They don't peek until they're around 30 if healthy ... And they need repetitions to get better Can't just be throwing first round picks at right tackle... They're putting resources into it .. but sometimes these guys need 3 years to develop... Even some can't miss tackles turn out to be pretty Miss... It's not easy

He's a better and more willing blocker than you give him credit for Is he gronk? No But blocking ALL comes down to intensity and desire... He always brings intensity when run blocking which is something to build on and coachable He isn't lax in it ... He has effort He will be able to run in line in a few years -
RIP Sean He's chatting Bills with Van and Ralph now : )

Has anyone checked on Louis Riddick? (Trey Lance news...)
Buffalo716 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's called division 1 football... Hockey players and soccer players and tennis players are playing pro at 18... Some professional hockey and soccer players are playing overseas at 16 Every single player in the NFL is at least 3 years removed from HS .... Every single one without exception You get five years with a red shirt of top notch strength conditioning and nutrition... These kids bodies change drastically from 18 to 23 That's the minor league system If you need more seasoning you go to Canada... Or the feeder league The NCAA has been pumping out ready-made guys for 90 years -
Will Bruce Smith’s sack record ever be broken?

He was playing like 12 games a year I'm pretty sure he's number one or two all time in yards per game... It's either Him or Berry Sanders ypg all time -

They've been drafting guys like Josh Allen for 80 years Josh is one of the few that actually panned out to super stardom status... It's always been the prototype Big strong cannon arm and can run? Sign me up says GMs They always think they could fix the flaws with coaching -
Hodgins would kill for the career of either of those guys lol John Brown came off the bench and had a 45-yard touchdown... Hodgins never caught a 45-yard pass in the NFL in his life Hodgins is a number 4-5... Brown came off the street and made a further catch than Hodgins ever did.. instantly Beasley is making more money than Isaiah on the same team lol
-
Hodgins is what happens when a team with mediocre receivers need help He came in and knew the offense better than everybody... And executed That doesn't mean he's anything special.. Robert Foster was our number one receiver here getting built up weekly by the coaching staff... And he's nothing Hodgins is the byproduct of piss poor receivers around him.. he wasn't better than the other options at the end of camp last year here, hence PS

Van Demark, a "Model" Fit for the Bills OL?
Buffalo716 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's really not a right tackle.. more of a pure left tackle -

By all accounts he was a toolsy guy coming out ... Who needed to increase his play strength and refine his technique But he has the height length athleticism that team's covet He could have been a 7th round pick He's still a few years away from being the type of player he can be but it's promising -
I don't think anybody here said burrow isn't good or top 3-4 He's elite But that doesn't mean Josh Allen is not better... Josh has tons of NFL records to his name that are only going to grow.. only player ever to have three straight 40 touchdown seasons He certainly has the room to grow and be the best player in the world.. not the best quarterback the best player in the world... And when he's dialed in he might be the best player in the world already If he cuts down some turnovers the sky is the limit
