  1. This is a bigger surprise than Williams to me.

  3. Can J. Williams wrangle snakes? If not, then I think I know what made him expendable: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/columnist/roth/2017/08/04/buffalo-bills-joe-banyard-rattlesnakes/538362001/
  4. At least I can pretend I'm watching Fred Jackson when Banyard is on the field. EDIT: Not too upset about this move. I like Tolbert just as much as Williams. Banyard looked good. Jones didn't look all that bad either. Wish we would have gotten a draft pick though.
  5. Have loved Boldin as a player his whole career, but this ain't cool. I agree with "demand way too high of a pick or pound sand" crowd.
  6. If we don't get Thad Lewis as QB3, then Trevone Boykin who was waived by the Seahawks would be a good pickup.
  7. I'm pretty sure he was injured last year, but not sure about this year. Either way he definitely got a later jump on working himself into the line-up than did Wright.
  8. Yeah, just seems to me like he got more playing time earlier on in the preseason games. They must like both though if they traded for Gaines. EDIT: Plus, Wright has that great Uber story, right? Maybe the PR department gets a say on one roster spot.
  9. Greg Mabin. Hyde can play some CB, too.
  10. My guess would be Wright, with Gaines possibly overtaking him at some point.
  11. You're welcome. Catches of 58 yards (TD - EDIT: I guess he was called down by contact, but still a deep ball) and 33 yards this preseason, so maybe there's something there. Gives us some semblance of that deep threat many claim we lack (although he ran a 4.51).
  12. Maybe that's how the curse gets broken. Just stop feeling like the Bills while still being the Bills.
  13. Character. Process. It starts with one.
  14. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/kaelin-clay?id=2552651 OVERVIEW Played one year at Utah after transferring from Mt. San Antonio Junior College where he was named first-team all-conference with 16 touchdowns. Made four, different All-American teams as a return specialist in 2014 with Utah and was named First-team All-Pac 12 as a return specialist. Finished season with a punt return average of 15.0 and three touchdowns while returning one kick for a touchdown and a 24.9 average. Signed with Cal out of Long Beach Poly HS. Redshirted in 2010 and left the program for academic reasons according to then head coach Jeff Tedford. Played running back and receiver his senior season of high school and finished third in the state in the 100M and sixth in the 200M in 2010. Video of Clay releasing a sure touchdown before crossing the end zone against Oregon went viral in 2014. ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Very good straight-line speed. Decorated sprinter in high school. Stepped up and showed improvement in his lone season at Utah after teammate Dres Anderson's season-ending knee injury. Able to make first defender miss in space. When given a shot to play vertically, took advantage by winning over the top twice against Oregon. One of the more dangerous return men in college football as both punt returner and kick returner. Posted three punt return touchdowns and a 100 yard kickoff return this year. Has great feel for keeping kick returns on their designed track and slashing at the right time. Had disastrous "fumble" against Oregon when he released ball before crossing the plain of the goal line, where Oregon picked it up and went other way for a touchdown. Bounced back from that and showed mental toughness. WEAKNESSES Smaller receiver with very limited catch radius. Had four drops this season, including focus drops when trying to make catch near the sideline. Hips don't open much causing short, tight strides and flatness with some of his routes. Lacks sudden feet to gain expected separation on outs. Film filled with hitches, bubble screens and short outs and lacking in more route sophistication. Upright into his breaks and out of them. Started at Cal, but left the program to "improve his academic situation", according to then coach Jeff Tedford. BOTTOM LINE Slot receiver lacking suddenness to get open against man coverage underneath, but with a second gear to find separation on deep throws. Clay's size and playmaking ability as a receiver aren?t going to do much for most teams, but his return ability gives him a shot at making a team.
  15. Waiting for the "Patriots have signed Brandon Reilly to their active roster" news to pop up...
  16. If we're going to get a QB3, then go Thad Lewis.
  17. That Dennison connection...
  18. Pronounces all the "f"s and "s"s the same way.
  19. This is true. Still, people are talking (I think) more about their opinions of his actions than whether the NFL or a given team can/should do something to prevent the actions.
  20. That's what I was asking of the poster I quoted.
