  1. Although it comes before it, I'm much more excited for the Senior Bowl than the Super Bowl. Of course I'll watch the Super Bowl, but given how likely it is that the Patriots* will win after coming back in the 2nd half, I do prefer the commercials to the actual game at this point.
  2. I voted for the commercials for this year. Said it before: I've seen this movie and know how it ends. But I'd go to the theater to see the movie again if I knew there were going to be some cool trailers before it.
  3. Apologies, I had scrolled down and cut off Johnson and Wagner. Still, you'd need Glenn to play as the best RT in the league by a margin of $2.75 million to be worth it. I'm not saying I'm confident that Glenn won't heal. I'm saying that both the return of a mid-round or FA OT (both cheaper by far) and Glenn's injury are tough to predict. Still, if Glenn ends up continuing to miss games, then paying him $14 million is going to bad for this team.
  4. We just disagree then. I see cap space as very important for a team with questions at pretty much every position, especially if we end up having to package a lot of our extra picks to move up for a QB, which I think could happen and would keep us from filling more roster holes. I'd rather have an average RT for average RT starting money ($5-7 million), probably get a pick for Glenn, and save that extra $7-9 million for another starter or few depth players. Alternatively, a starting RT may be found in round 3 or 4. You are as certain that the OT we could bring in would be "below-market return" as I am that Glenn's injuries will continue to prevent him from playing - we both don't know. Glenn would be below market return if he was not clearly the best RT in the NFL and healthy all year because no starting RT is making more than an average of $8 million per year.
  5. I guess I just think between FA and draft, we could find a RT for cheaper than $14 million. 6. So Glenn will fully recover from the injury, be happy with being moved to RT, and successfully make that transition? Or he could do all that? I'm willing to part with a guy who has a considerable injury history and would be vastly overpaid to play RT. Where are you getting $60 million in cap space? I've only seen a little over $30 million. (https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/buffalo-bills/) - $32,578,305 (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/) - $31,336,937 They don't need to get rid of Glenn, but they do need a QB, HB2, DTs, LBs, and possibly a WR, OG, DE, and CB.
  7. I think Mayfield will end up being well worth whatever it takes to move up for him. The only real question for me is his height, which I think will be answered by just looking at his game tape. He makes it work. Consider Russell Wilson's draft profile. I would hate not to go for Mayfield, whose name I think could easily replace Wilson's below: But teams will have concerns whether Wilson can see over the pocket to make the throws at the next level. He is a mechanical mover who has strong technique and leadership qualities. If Wilson were three inches taller, there would be debate at the top of the draft as to where he fits. That, for a guy who was a complete gamer, but measured in at 5'11".
  8. It all depends on the medicals. If he checks out, then sure he is a good option. However, a value FA, such as Cornelius Lucas, might do the job. There are a few mid-round OTs, such as Nevada's Austin Corbett, that could work, too. It would be a downgrade in talent. No doubt. I just think it might be worth it to get a more available and durable RT who would cost far less and allow the teams to fill even more positions of need in FA.
  9. Gotta remember that, while we can have a good set of OTs for ~$15-16 million, we can also go with Dawkins and another solid RT who does not have injury concerns for way less $.

  11. Here's to hoping Kiper is correct on Allen going No. 1 overall - Push the real QBs down!
  12. Someone didn't do the assigned reading. OooooOoooOooh!!! This, combined with reports that NE wanted him as the OC heir apparant, make me go "Hmmm."
  13. A draft for if we were to sign Cousins: 21: R1P21 EDGE ARDEN KEY LSU 22: R1P22 LB RASHAAN EVANS ALABAMA 53: R2P21 DL DERRICK NNADI FLORIDA STATE 56: R2P24 WR CHRISTIAN KIRK TEXAS A&M 95: R3P31 RB NICK CHUBB GEORGIA 123: R4P21 QB LUKE FALK WASHINGTON STATE 160: R5P21 CB TONY BROWN ALABAMA 168: R5P29 OT AUSTIN CORBETT NEVADA
  14. Re: HB, I think the way to go is the mid-rounds of the draft instead of FA. This is a deep HB draft, even with Love returning to Stanford. Solid HBs may be found in round 4 and later.
  15. If we're going for a Vikings QB with injury problems, then I think I'd prefer Bradford. More talent, higher upside, and a vet who is more likely to take a bridge/stop-gap short contract.
  16. I picked NE vs. MIN. I do think the fact that JAX has Coughlin in the house, and a front that could get to Brady might mean something. I also do think that PHI could pull this off given it is at their house. But, NE is NE, and MIN seems to have some magic going for it this year. Playing for the chance to play the Super Bowl at home has to be a unique motivator.
  17. I know, I was talking more about on the message board, but it is unfortunate because I wish it could be yelled out at tailgates and the games, too.
  18. I know someone else in this thread already made the joke, so credit to that person not me, but who else is excited for the countless "Give him Da-boll!" jokes to be had the next season? I know I am.
  19. It makes me think of Mario video games, and what's wrong with that?
  20. Voted Rudolph. Not enamored with him, but he's got above 60% completion over the past 3 years, with it rising each year. His TD:INT ratio got better as he progressed. He's got the size. Fits the pocket passer mold OBD has stated they want. Plus, if we only got a bridge QB, I at least want some prospect back there learning who isn't Peterman, so I cannot pass although I do not love either Rudolph or Jackson.
  21. Oh okay, I see. I think those two are close. Ducasse definitely quieted some doubters down the stretch.
  22. I have to disagree that RT has been our biggest problem. QB and DT definitely rank ahead.
