You keep saying outside zone…that’s just a stretch, basically. The Bills run zone blocking, which can be both outside where the RB is trying to get the edge outside the TE a la Breida w/ Niners or inside zone, where the RB is headed for the guard’s hip like how Antonio Williams scored against the Dolphins wk 17. Nobody just runs an ‘outside zone’ rush attack. It is a concept within a zone blocking scheme.

Don’t forget practices. When these guys are going against each other in training quality begets quality. Brings the whole roster up organically.

Couple points: the only RB proven to thrive in outsize zone runs is Brieda with the Niners. None of the other guys have from what I’ve seen the speed to get to the edge. Also, the idea that ‘outside zone’ is an offensive philosophy, as opposed to a type of play and oline technique within a zone specific blocking scheme, is misplaced. Further, not sure what outside zone runs (or inside zone runs for that matter) have to do with ‘streamlining’ the pass game, other than traditionally zone schemes utilize more athletic linemen who often are better pass blockers?

Jackson can credibly make the argument to get more than Allen. And if they keep running read option the Ravens won’t need a ton of cap for top skill positions…but then the question becomes whether you need to spend that much on a QB for that offensive system. Mayfield on the other hand has no grounds to be close to highest paid and will likely suffer most from such a contract.

For sure Wallace is the weak link but I don’t consider him a liability, necessarily. And I’m pretty sure they were actually both (White and Wallace) out for the Titans last year and we got scorched so I would not be confident at all 😂😂 But any team losing their CB1 is going to be almost impossible to overcome.

Honestly, not a ton for me…Wallace is good value at a spot that the FO seems content with. The pass defense has been a top unit since he came on board in 2018. His replacement in Jackson seems to be progressing nicely. CB2 is kind of a luxury position, I mean even when Seattle had the LOB going Byron Maxwell always got picked on.

That often what happens when you have an All Pro corner on the other side.

The whole ‘sugar high’ thing needs to be put into its proper context imo, namely that there’s a direct relationship between the quality of Allen’s supporting cast and the number of plays where he tries to do too much. Sorry inverse
