  1. @Low Positive if you watch Allen he is looking playside right at the snap. so he knows the DE dropped out and I think that's why he immediately snaps his head to MoF where Knox is likely to be hot
  2. we may be talking about different plays here the failed 4th down shovel to Johnson the blitz came from Brown's side and he rerouted the LB...both the LB and the DB came and he naturally couldn't get to the DB
  3. it had to be on knox imo it's 4th and 2. your man is blitzing, you're hot...and he just runs into coverage, never settles or even turns his head allen is looking straight at him, probably in disbelief lol
  4. plays smaller than he is unfortunately he got absolutely bullied on one of those third down incompletions
  5. dawkins has been saying the same for years now it's like the entire squad has stockholm syndrome
  6. i got big hate for saying three weeks ago he looks the same...because he does i'm not writing him off or anything but he needs a LOT more work
  7. having a guy at QB who scores TDs at a higher rate than anyone in NFL history really helps
  8. herbig is really underrated imo for a not that well known edge guy he is a nuisance and from hawaii
  9. i very much agree 'culture' and 'locker room' and all those feel-good ways of saying we have a nice group of guys who enjoy playing football together does nothing for me. never has if it gets results, great. if it doesn't, do something else. but ffs stop pretending ***** like being a family or growth mindset matter more than trying to win a super bowl
  10. imo steelers pass rush is just fine they're second in sacks and 4th in pressure rate Bengals oline just played really well last night
  11. but not at the same time the reason i always post stills from the top of Allen's drop is because that's when the ball is supposed to come out to his first read, it gives you an understanding of what the play should look like from the OC and QB perspective...the design plus Allen's pre- and post snap diagnosis and there are half field reads that really do mean the other routes aren't viable targets in the sense that the ball is just not going there unless the play breaks down
  12. 'throw the ball to Jamarr Chase 23 times and good things will happen'
  13. ***** joe burrow and ***** the stupid bengals
  14. Iirc the very best QBs and teams in history didn't win 95% of their games where the opponent scored 24 or fewer
  15. Fair imo I think my major frustration rn (and even last yr tbh) is that the margins on offense are waaay to thin to keep pretending this complementary ball control style is the right approach
  16. I guess my counter would be on offense we are currently 3rd in yards and 4th in ppg, whereas on defense we are 17th in both Wouldn't complementary football allow for possibility that the defense play well for 4quarters when the offense is struggling?
  17. For sure Like not counting wk18 where starters sat the chiefs went 4-0 in games where they scored fewer than 20pts. I don't think we are capable of that
  18. 👍I always use Mahomes and the Chiefs as an example Mahomes had a lot of games last yr where he looked like Allen did vs Falcons and they went 15-2
  19. Yeah When I first looked at it I thought 'you know what, he maybe could have flipped his hips at the last second there and thrown that ball normally, kind of similar action to the pass he threw Cook last yr vs the Lions'...then you realize well that's like a 1 of 1 type throw, is that the kind of stuff we need from Allen to keep the offense on schedule? Like is that a reasonable standard of play
  20. I get it, and again- we are seeing the same things. I'm just trying to contextualize 'bad' because (as I said before): I don't think Allen played well because he obviously didn't. I'm just saying man...it looks difficult out there on offense. Like difficult in a way that to expect a good/great performance at the QB position is borderline unreasonable. I mean doesn't it look that way to you too on film? I have a hard time just saying 'QB played poorly' when you actually go in and look at it. The protection doesn't seem to match the route timing, he clearly doesn't trust what he's seeing (from Shavers in ATL specifically), there's never a guy who just point blank wins on release for an easy completion...again to me it just looks very very difficult
